The Illinois Supreme Court reversed the conviction of MAGA hate hoaxer Jussie Smollett.

Jussie Smollett asked the Illinois Supreme Court to overturn his conviction after the appellate court denied his request.

The Illinois Supreme Court has reversed the conviction of actor Jussie Smollett.

The former “Empire” actor took his case to the Illinois Supreme Court in September in a last-ditch effort to have his 2021 conviction overturned.

A statement from the IL Supreme Court on Thursday said: “Today we resolve a question about the State’s responsibility to honor the agreements it makes with defendants. Specifically, we address whether a dismissal of a case by nolle prosequi allows the State to bring a second prosecution when the dismissal was entered as part of an agreement with the defendant and the defendant has performed his part of the bargain. We hold that a second prosecution under these circumstances is a due process violation, and we therefore reverse defendant’s conviction.”

In December 2021, Smollett was found guilty on 5 charges of disorderly conduct – one count for each time he lied to police following the hoax ‘attack.’

Smollett was found not guilty on a 6th count of lying to a detective.

In March 2022 a judge scolded Jussie Smollett for his narcissism and hypocrisy before sentencing him to 150 days in jail.

Smollett was also sentenced to 30 months probation and ordered to pay $120,126 restitution and a $25,000 fine.

The Gateway Pundit immediately pegged this ‘racist, homophobic’ attack against Smollett as a hate hoax in January 2019.

Smollett laughably claimed two ‘white men’ ambushed him at 2 am in 20-degree weather in downtown Chicago while screaming “This is MAGA country!”

The ‘Empire’ actor said the attackers poured bleach on him and put a noose around his neck while verbally abusing him with homophobic and racial slurs.

It turns out Jussie Smollett paid two Nigerian brothers over $3,000 to help him pull off the “MAGA Country” hate hoax crime.

In previously released footage, the Osundairo brothers are seen purchasing all of the supplies for the hate hoax such as red hats, rope and bleach.

Despite all of the evidence presented in the court proving Smollett recruited the Nigerians to help him with this hate hoax, the ‘Empire’ actor lied to the court for hours and claimed he was a victim of a real crime.

Democrat Arizona House Representative Ruben Gallego refused to answer The Gateway Pundit’s questions on Wednesday about his questionable win against Kari Lake in the US Senate election on November 5. 

The Gateway Pundit has reported extensively on the defrauding of Kari Lake in the last two election cycles.

The Gateway Pundit readers know that in 2022, Kari Lake was running as the Trump-endorsed candidate for Governor and led by double digits in the polls leading up to election day.

But the fix was in, and on election day, 60% of the machines in Maricopa County failed to tabulate votes, creating four-hour-long wait times and disenfranchising thousands, if not tens of thousands of voters.

Additionally, hundreds of thousands of ballots with no chain of custody or signature verification ID checks were counted in Lake’s stolen election for Governor.

The people counting the votes also hated Kari Lake, and her opponent, Katie Hobbs, was the top election official in Arizona at the time.

The top election official in Maricopa County, where over 60% of voters reside, even sued Kari Lake for defamation ahead of the 2024 election, which he oversaw. It was recently revealed in court documents that Richer is a self-proclaimed “anti-MAGA” individual whose life mission, in his own words, is to “make life hell for Kari Lake.” How can anybody trust this guy to run a fair election?

Soros-backed and cartel-tied Ruben Gallego supposedly beat Kari Lake by over 80,000 votes in the Senate race. Meanwhile, President Trump won the state of Arizona by nearly 190,000 against Kamala Harris.

This makes no sense, especially when you take into account other races in Maricopa County and statewide where Trump or Lake-Endorsed candidates won.

Take, for example, the countywide race for Maricopa County Recorder, where Kari Lake-Endorsed Republican Justin Heap won by over 80,000 votes. Likewise, President Trump took a 70,000 vote lead in Maricopa.

But we're being asked to believe that Kari Lake lost by over 100,000 votes in the same county.

And the suspicion is not just in Maricopa County. As The Gateway Pundit reported, the number of votes received after election day in the counties of Pima and Yuma increased, raising even more questions about the integrity of this election statewide. Cochise County also faced bizarre machine malfunctions following supposed bomb threats, which the Democratic Secretary of State attributed to Russia.

When questioned about his friendship with Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer, his family ties to the cartel, and whether or not his election was run fairly, Gallego had no answers.

“Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough is reportedly “petrified” of Matt Gaetz becoming Attorney General and investigating the suspicious death of his intern in 2001.

Theories and questions have long swirled about the death of Lori Klausutis, a young woman who worked and died in then-Representative Scarborough’s congressional office.

The 28-year-old intern’s death was ruled accidental, stemming from an “undiagnosed cardiac arrhythmia” that caused her “breathing to stop.” Investigators said that she fell and hit her head on an office desk, fractured her skull, and died.

In 2020, Trump called for an investigation into Klausutis’ death.

According to a report from Puck News, Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski met with Trump at Mar-a-Lago on Monday because they were terrified of the death being investigated.

Specifically, Joe and Mika have told friends and associates they’re afraid that Trump and Gaetz will resurrect a decades-old, totally bullshit, birther-level conspiracy theory about the death of Lori Klausutis, a 28-year-old intern in Scarborough’s former Florida congressional office who died in 2001 from complications relating to a heart condition, and use it to apply legal pressure on Scarborough and otherwise make his life a living hell.

The couple’s anxiety stems, in particular, from testimony that former White House communications director and current View co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin gave in 2022 during the January 6 hearings, during which she recounted running into Gaetz outside of the Oval Office.

Farah Griffin testified that Gaetz was carrying a folder filled with “conspiracy theories about Joe Scarborough murdering his intern,” which he then presented to President Trump, who later tweeted about it.

Despite the baseless nature of the conspiracy theory, Joe and Mika “are petrified of retribution and of Gaetz opening an investigation into Joe and the intern,” one source with knowledge of their concerns said. “That’s what this was about. It has nothing to do with ratings or Comcast. It’s all about fear of retribution and investigation.”

Another source close to the matter said Joe and Mika believed that by meeting with Trump, they could assuage his potential desire for reckless payback and thus nuke any possibility of having to endure the headlines of a Gaetz witch hunt or legal torture campaign.

(Reached for comment, Scarborough referred me to an MSNBC spokesperson, who denied this characterization of the motivations for Joe and Mika’s Mar-a-Lago visit and said it was both false and inaccurate.) Coincidentally, Scarborough and Gaetz both represented Florida’s 1st congressional district.

While Puck was quick to write this off as a “baseless conspiracy,” during an appearance on “Imus in the Morning” in 2003, Don Imus and Scarborough joked about him having an affair with his intern and having to kill her.

The Gateway Pundit obtained a video of the “joke” in 2020.

“You said you had sex with an intern, and then you had to kill her,” Imus recounted.

“Exactly,” Scarborough responded with a laugh.

“That’s pretty risky to say,” Imus responded.

“What are you gonna do?” Scarborough continued to joke.

Democrat voters want Kamala Harris to be their nominee again in 2028, according to a new poll.

The Puck News/Echelon Insights poll found 41 percent of Democrats want Harris to be the nominee.

California Governor Gavin Newsom comes in a distant second place with eight percent, followed by Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro with seven percent.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg each have support from six percent of the poll respondents.

The Hill reports:

In the survey, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) received 4 percent support, ahead of three Democratic governors. Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer got 3 percent. Both Illinois Gov. J. B. Pritzker and Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear were at 2 percent.

Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.), who also ran in the 2020 Democratic Party primary, received 2 percent backing, according to the poll. Colorado Gov. Jared Polis and Maryland Gov. Wes Moore got 1 percent a piece.

Around 16 percent of respondents were unsure about their choice, while some 1 percent wanted someone else.

Harris lost the popular vote and all seven battleground states to President-elect Donald Trump on November 5.

Republican voters overwhelmingly support Vice President-elect Sen. J.D. Vance, who had support from 37 percent of respondents. Nikki Haley and Vivek Ramaswamy tied for second place with nine percent each.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has the support of eight percent of the Republican respondents, while Senators Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio each have five percent.

Three percent want someone else, and 18 percent said they are unsure who they will support.

The poll of 1,010 likely voters was conducted from November 14-18. The margin of error was 3.5 percentage points.

Earlier this month, the FBI and CISA issued a joint statement detailing a significant cyber espionage campaign by actors affiliated with the People’s Republic of China (PRC).

The investigation revealed that PRC-linked operatives compromised networks at multiple telecommunications companies, enabling the theft of customer call data, breaches of private communications—primarily of individuals involved in government or political activities—and the unauthorized copying of sensitive information subject to U.S. law enforcement requests.

The U.S. House Committee on Homeland Security released a detailed assessment on October 17, highlighting significant national security threats posed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), including espionage and acts of transnational repression.

Titled the “China Threat Snapshot,” the report documents recent legislative efforts to counter these threats and provides alarming statistics on CCP-related activities in the United States.

According to the report, there have been over 55 documented cases of CCP espionage across 20 states between February 2021 and August 2024.

These cases involve trade secret theft, obstruction of justice, transnational repression schemes, and the transmission of sensitive military information.

The FBI estimates that 80% of economic espionage prosecutions are linked to activities benefiting China, and about 60% of trade-secret theft cases have ties to the CCP.

FBI Director Christopher Wray testified that the agency opens a new case targeting CCP intelligence operations every 12 hours.

Committee Chairman Mark Green emphasized that the threat lies not with the Chinese people but with the CCP’s authoritarian regime, which spies on defectors, intimidates American citizens, censors dissent, and undermines democratic governance.

The report underscores the urgent need for robust measures to protect U.S. sovereignty and counter the CCP’s escalating aggression.

In the week of September 9, 2024, House Republicans are focusing on several key issues, particularly targeting Chinese espionage, the protection of U.S. intellectual property, and national security.

The Chinese Communist Party has long been involved in stealing U.S. intellectual property, resulting in losses of up to $500 billion annually for American taxpayers.

As the vast majority of economic espionage cases involve China, and House Republicans are taking steps to counter this by introducing the Protect America’s Innovation and Economic Security from CCP Act.

This legislation reinstates and renames the “China Initiative” as the CCP Initiative, aiming to combat espionage and protect U.S. trade secrets and academic institutions.

House Republicans are also focused on protecting U.S. institutions from Chinese influence. The Chinese government has used Confucius Institutes to infiltrate American universities and spread propaganda.

Although many of these institutes have closed, some schools still maintain ties with Chinese entities.

The DHS Restrictions on Confucius Institutes and Chinese Entities of Concern Act aims to restrict funding to institutions that maintain relationships with Chinese entities, thereby safeguarding academic integrity.

Additionally, Republicans are addressing concerns over Chinese dominance in the electric vehicle (EV) market. The current lenient rules allow Chinese entities to benefit from U.S. tax credits for EVs.

To counter this, the End Chinese Dominance of Electric Vehicles in America Act seeks to close loopholes that allow Chinese manufacturers to exploit U.S. subsidies, ensuring that American tax dollars are not supporting foreign adversaries.

Another pressing issue is the growing foreign ownership of U.S. farmland, particularly by Chinese companies. Over the past decade, Chinese ownership of American farmland has increased significantly, raising concerns about food and national security.

The Protecting American Agriculture from Foreign Adversaries Act proposes adding agricultural transactions to the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) review process, ensuring that foreign adversaries cannot acquire land near military installations or threaten the U.S. food supply.

These initiatives reflect the Republican commitment to safeguarding U.S. intellectual property, and national sovereignty, while ensuring responsible use of taxpayer funds and bolstering national security.

They align with President Trump’s hawkish cabinet picks, signaling a tough stance on China. Former U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, the architect of the U.S.-China trade war, is poised to lead trade policy with a continued focus on countering China’s economic practices.

Sen. Marco Rubio, nominated for Secretary of State, has been a vocal critic of the CCP, co-authoring legislation to revoke China’s PNTR status.

National Security Advisor pick Michael Pillsbury, another staunch China hawk, has championed strategic decoupling and increased pressure on Beijing.
