Per KXAN:

After a mysterious “boom” shook parts of Central Texas on Tuesday morning, another “boom” has rattled areas around Georgetown.

Several KXAN viewers heard the blast in east Georgetown around 11:40 p.m. Saturday. One viewer who lives in the Saddle Creek neighborhood said the sound vibrated the floors and windows in their home.

Mysterious ‘boom’ shakes homes in parts of Central Texas, KXAN viewers say Georgetown Police Chief Cory Tchida said he heard the boom Saturday night, too. Around the same time, he said the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a water main explosion—which could be connected to the “boom” heard.

Tchida said GPD received multiple calls about the “boom,” but the cause of the booms remains unclear.

Illegal Aliens Caught Using Fake Passports to Pose as Minors to Pass Through Biden’s Open Border – Guinea’s Government May Be Contributing

Illegal Aliens Caught Using Fake Passports to Pose as Minors to Pass Through Biden’s Open Border – Guinea’s Government May Be Contributing

Border Patrol agents in the Tucson sector are seeing an increase in illegal aliens from the African state of Guinea using falsified passports to alter their age.  Many of them are claiming to be minors to increase their chances of crossing the border.

The border patrol is now examining the passports with more scrutiny to see if they are fake or altered in some way.

With the Biden regime’s open invitation to come into the U.S., it would hardly seem to make a difference anyway.

Fox News Reported:

Border Agents in the Tucson, Arizona sector are seeing an influx of immigrants from Guinea using fake passports to claim they are minors when entering the United States illegally, according to an internal alert obtained by Fox News.

The illegal immigrants are changing their ages and pretending to be unaccompanied minors so they’ll have a better chance of getting into the U.S.

The Border Patrol notice advises agents on what to look out for, and provides examples of real and fake Guinean passports. It warns that passports issued in the municipality of Conakry, Guinea’s capital, after June 2023 are “most likely fraudulent or altered.”

The Border Patrol agents were also informed that the government of Guinea may be playing a role in the falsification of the passports.

“Another migrant, according to Border Patrol, noted that an ‘illicit group’ stole many blank passport books from the ministry in Conakry and “has been selling and issuing the passports without the proper procedures.” Fox News reported.

The southern border has had massive numbers of illegals crossing into the U.S. from African countries such as Guinea and Congo. TGP reported earlier this month of many crossing into the U.S. to their destination cities.

Biden’s border crisis is getting worse by the day. Mass numbers of illegals are pouring into the United States daily.

“Massive numbers of adult men from around the world mixed in with families from Mexico and Ecuador. This is daily here,” Fox News reporter Bill Melugin said.

Some of these illegals are from Guinea in western Africa.

Paula Abdul Files Lawsuit Accusing ‘American Idol’ Producer Nigel Lythgoe of Sexual Assault

Paula Abdul Files Lawsuit Accusing ‘American Idol’ Producer Nigel Lythgoe of Sexual Assault

Pop icon Paula Abdul has filed a lawsuit accusing American Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe of sexual assault.

The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles on Friday, claims that Lythgoe sexually assaulted her in the early 2000s both while she was on American Idol and after she left that show and became a judge on Lythgoe’s other competition series, So You Think You Can Dance.

Abdul’s lawyer Douglas Johnson issued a statement on Saturday that said, “It was clearly a difficult decision to make, but Ms. Abdul knows that she stands both in the shoes and on the shoulders of many other similarly situated survivors, and she is determined to see that justice is done.”

ABC News reports, “Lythgoe said in a statement that he was ‘shocked and saddened’ to hear of the allegations made by Abdul, who he said he considered a ‘dear’ and ‘entirely platonic’ friend.”

Lythgoe also brought up Abdul’s history of “erratic behavior.”

“While Paula’s history of erratic behavior is well known, I can’t pretend to understand exactly why she would file a lawsuit that she must know is untrue,” Lythgoe said in the statement. “But I can promise that I will fight this appalling smear with everything I have.”

Abdul’s lawsuit claims that she kept quiet about the assault for so many years due to fear of retaliation by “one of the most well-known producers of television competition shows.”

ABC News reports:

According to the lawsuit, the first sexual assault occurred while Abdul and Lythgoe were on the road filming auditions for an earlier season of “American Idol,” which premiered in 2002.

Abdul says Lythgoe groped her in the elevator of their hotel after a day of filming and “began shoving his tongue down her throat.” Abdul pushed him away and ran to her hotel room when the elevator doors opened.

“In tears, Abdul quickly called one of her representatives to inform them of the assault,” the lawsuit says, “but ultimately decided not to take action for fear that Lythgoe would have her fired from American Idol.”

Abdul left American Idol in 2009 after being a judge for the first eight seasons.

She became a judge on Lythgoe’s So You Think You Can Dance in 2015.

“Around that time, Abdul alleged in the lawsuit, Lythgoe forced himself on top of her during a dinner at his home and tried to kiss her. Abdul said she again pushed Lythgoe away and immediately left,” ABC reports.

The report adds, “The lawsuit also accuses Lythgoe of taunting Abdul about the alleged assaults, saying to her years later that ‘they should celebrate’ because ‘the statute of limitations had run.’”

Abdul has not worked with Lythgoe since leaving the dancing competition show.

The lawsuit was filed just before the December 31 deadline for the California one-year window for victims of sexual assault to file complaints if the statute of limitations had passed.

Armed Off-Duty Cop Thwarts Carjackers in DC – Sends Them Running Scared

Armed Off-Duty Cop Thwarts Carjackers in DC – Sends Them Running Scared

Violent carjackings and crime have skyrocketed in Washington DC, thanks to Democrat policies

Carjackings in the nation’s capital are up 111% in the first ten months of 2023.

An off-duty police officer from Maryland was carjacked in DC while helping family members into their vehicle on Thursday in the Oxon Hill area across the street from a large shopping mall.

As the carjackers were trying to force the family out of the vehicle, the officer fired his weapon at the suspects and sent them fleeing.

Fox News reported:

An armed, off-duty Maryland police officer sent two suspected carjackers fleeing when he fired his weapon as they forced his family out of a vehicle near a large shopping mall outside of Washington, D.C., police say.

“Continue to remain diligent. Be aware of your surroundings,” Prince George Assistant Chief Vernon Hale III said during a press conference last week. “As you can see, if this can happen to an off-duty officer, it can certainly happen to a family. So, we want to make sure that everybody remains diligent, take care of one another, and keep your eyes open.”

Hale said an unidentified off-duty police officer with the department was assisting two of his family members as they got into their personal vehicle at about 5 p.m. Thursday in Oxon Hill when they were approached by at least two suspects, Fox 5 DC reported. The family was in a parking lot that serves office buildings, including dental and medical offices, and is located across the street from the Tanger Outlets National Harbor shopping center.

One of the suspects was arrested and identified as Anthony Stewart, 19, a resident of DC. The second suspect has not been identified at this time.

The family was left unharmed, and police say that it appears the carjackers were not hit with any shots.

Stewart was charged with carjacking, theft, robbery, and potentially other charges.

Watch:

No one is safe in Washington DC these days including political leaders.

“Crime in the city has even affected political leaders and their families, including in October when Texas Democratic Rep. Henry Cuellar was carjacked by three armed attackers near the U.S. Capitol.” Fox News reported.

Former Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s Resignation From House Effective Today, Leaves Republicans With Razor Thin Majority

Former Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s Resignation From House Effective Today, Leaves Republicans With Razor Thin Majority

The resignation from the House by former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) took effect Sunday, leaving Republicans with a razor-thin majority of 220-213 over the Democrats following the expulsion of George Santos (R-NY) earlier in December.

McCarthy gave a farewell speech on the House floor on December 14.

McCarthy’s letter of resignation to Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA):

Video of McCarthy’s farewell address to Congress:

McCarthy, 58, served as Speaker of the House for nine months, having been voted out on October 3rd on passage of a motion to vacate filed by Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) that passed 216-210 with eight Republicans joining all Democrats.

CBS News reported on Gaetz’s comments about the vote (excerpt):

“The reason Kevin McCarthy went down today is because nobody trusts Kevin McCarthy,” Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida told reporters after the vote. “Kevin McCarthy has made multiple contradictory promises, and when they all came due, he lost votes of people who maybe don’t even ideologically agree with me on everything.”

“This represents the ripping off of the Band-Aid and that’s what we need to do to get back on track,” the Florida Republican added.

Along with Gaetz, seven Republican members voted to oust McCarthy: Reps. Andy Biggs of Arizona, Ken Buck of Colorado, Tim Burchett of Tennessee, Eli Crane of Arizona, Bob Good of Virginia, Nancy Mace of South Carolina and Matt Rosendale of Montana.

A day earlier, Gaetz accused McCarthy of making a “secret side deal” with President Biden on Ukraine aid to get a short-term funding bill passed hours before the government was set to shutdown. The California Republican denied having made any deal in exchange for Democratic votes.

The beginning of the end for McCarthy started in the spring when he threw away a winning hand on budget deficit negotiations with Joe Biden and the Democrats for next to nothing in return, giving Biden unlimited borrowing power for the final two years of his term in office.

A majority of the American people supported the Republican position to reduce spending instead of the Democrats’ position of an unlimited debt ceiling. Yet, McCarthy gave the Democrats unlimited deficit spending.

19% think the debt limit should be increased without conditions, while 63% want terms on reducing the federal budget deficit included. https://t.co/yzHSm0dkDh pic.twitter.com/0mbCjfAWb9

McCarthy’s end came after he jammed conservatives in the House with a last-minute 45-day budget deal passed with Democrat support to keep the government open at the end of September.

McCarthy was first elected to the House in 2007. As Speaker, he reopened the Capitol to the public after former Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) had closed it due to the pandemic. McCarthy also did away with proxy voting and the metal detectors at the doors to the House floor instituted by Pelosi.

McCarthy announced his resignation on December 6 in a Wall Street Journal op-ed (excerpt):

I’m an optimist. How could I not be? I’m the son of a firefighter. For 17 years I’ve served in the same congressional seat—the same office in which I was once denied an internship. Only in America.

I helped lead Republicans to a House majority—twice. We got more Republican women, veterans and minorities elected to Congress at one time than ever before. I remained cheerfully persistent when elected speaker because I knew what we could accomplish.

Even with slim margins in the House, we passed legislation to secure the border, achieve energy independence, reduce crime, hold government accountable and establish a Parents’ Bill of Rights. We did exactly what we said we would do.

We kept our eyes on America’s long-term global challenges by restoring the Intelligence Committee to its original charter and establishing a bipartisan Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party.

…It is in this spirit that I have decided to depart the House at the end of this year to serve America in new ways. I know my work is only getting started.

I will continue to recruit our country’s best and brightest to run for elected office. The Republican Party is expanding every day, and I am committed to lending my experience to support the next generation of leaders.
