Back in the nineteen century, when Greece was occupied by Turks, an English diplomat stole – there is really no other word for it – a group of millenary statues from the ruins of the Parthenon temple in Athens.
Two centuries later, the Greek demands for the return of the invaluable cultural treasures has come to the forefront of the relationship between the two European nations, with London scrambling to keep the sculptures.
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has repeated his calls for the British Museum to return the Parthenon Sculptures, 2 months after a diplomatic spat with Britain over the 2,500-year-old pieces.
Mitsotakis said his government is in contact the British Museum about a deal to bring the treasures back to the Acropolis Museum, in the heart of the Greek capital.
Reuters reported:
“‘Let me be clear, we will insist on their reunification for many reasons. But one, in my mind, is the most important: Only by being seen together, in situ, in the shadow of the Acropolis, can we truly appreciate their immense cultural importance’.
Athens has repeatedly called on the British Museum to permanently return the 2,500-year-old sculptures – known in Britain as the Elgin Marbles – that British diplomat Lord Elgin removed from the Parthenon temple in 1806, during a period when Greece was under Ottoman Turkish rule.”
The merry old days when the English went around the world raping and pillaging with impunity are over, and the geopolitical situation of our days would suggest that the treasures be returned.
But it won’t be easy.

The sculptures in the British Museum form about half of the 500-plus feet frieze that adorned the Parthenon. Only about 160 feet of artwork are in the Acropolis Museum.
“In November, during an interview with the BBC in London, Mitsotakis compared the separation of the sculptures to cutting the Mona Lisa in half, a characterization rejected by the British government.
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak later cancelled a planned meeting with Mitsotakis accusing him of breaking a promise not to use his trip as an opportunity to advocate for the return of the sculptures.”
While PM Sunak may have thought he was championing British rights, in fact he was harshly criticized by many – including the British Museum Director who said he was having a ‘hissy fit’.
Even King Charles III – whose father Philip was Greek – wore a tie with Greece banners to lend his support to the cause.
Aware of the difficulties, Greece is willing to loan antiquities to the British Museum ‘in return for being able to temporarily exhibit the sculptures in Athens’.
The British Museum, for his part, has said it would indeed consider loaning the sculptures to Greece – but only if it acknowledged the British Museum’s ownership of the sculptures.
Just between us: if these statues ever return to Athens, it’s a safe bet that the Greeks will never give it back. In fact, why would they?

Celebrated rapper Snoop Dogg has recently expressed his newfound respect and admiration for former U.S. President Donald Trump, marking a significant U-turn from his previous stance.
During an exclusive interview with The Times published on Sunday, Snoop Dogg, who has had a history of contention with Trump, particularly during Trump’s first term in office, surprisingly revealed his change of heart.
“Donald Trump? He ain’t done nothing wrong to me. He has done only great things for me,” the rapper said in a shocking revelation.
The change of heart stems, in part, from Trump’s decision to pardon Michael ‘Harry-O’ Harris, a co-founder of Death Row Records, which was Snoop’s first label, according to The Times.
“So I have nothing but love and respect for Donald Trump,” Snoop Dogg added, referencing this act of clemency.
In 2021, Snoop Dogg praised this decision, saying, “I love what they did… That’s great work for the president and his team on the way out.”
Previously, Snoop Dogg was known for his outright criticism of Trump’s policies and actions.
In 2017, he was involved in a significant controversy following the release of his music video for “Lavender” featuring BADBADNOTGOOD.
The video, which showcased Snoop Dogg aiming a toy gun at a clown smoking a joint and resembling Trump, pulling the trigger to reveal a “BANG” flag, drew widespread attention and criticism, including a sharp rebuke from Trump’s legal team and Trump himself, who suggested that Snoop Dogg should be arrested for the act.
Moreover, Snoop Dogg’s political commentary continued later that year with the release of his track “Make America Crip Again,” a play on Trump’s famous campaign slogan “Make America Great Again.”
“Certain people feel like we should make America ‘great again,’ but that time they’re referring to always takes me back to separation and segregation, so I’d rather Make America Crip Again,” Snoop Dogg said in a statement.
“What I mean by that is, in my lifetime, that’s when young Black men in impoverished areas organized to help their communities and to take care of their own because society basically left them for dead.”
In 2019, Snoop Dogg called President Trump a “n*gger” in a short, profanity-laced video posted this weekend urging federal government workers to not vote for Trump in the next election over not getting paid during the partial shutdown over border wall funding. Snoop Dogg says the workers would be “some stupid motherf*ckers” if they vote for Trump.
This recent turnaround by Snoop Dogg, thus, marks a significant and unexpected shift in his public position regarding Trump, especially as Trump gears up for another presidential run in the 2024 U.S. election.
As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, Donald Trump is on track to win more black votes than any other Republican presidential candidate in history.
A review of polls conducted by Bloomberg found that Trump is poised to take 14 percent to 30 percent of the black vote.
Trump only won eight percent of the black vote in 2020, according to data analyzed by the Pew Research Center. This small number was still more than any other Republican candidate before him.
Also, a poll released last December by Morning Consult shows Joe Biden losing support among Black voters while President Trump is gaining support. Over the past year Biden is down nine points, from 70 to 61 percent while Trump is up seven points, 15 to 22 percent.

A barbaric YouTuber with 20,000 followers has been arrested in Pennsylvania for torturing and killing animals on her live streams — while singing creepy songs about their painful deaths.
Anigar Monsee, 28, would allow viewers to pay her to request certain animals that they wanted to see her torture and “cook” while scantily clad.
Animals tortured by the wannabe influencer include a chicken, a pigeon, a rabbit, and frogs.
Monsee was caught after a viewer alerted PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, who contacted the Upper Darby Police.
Upper Darby Police Superintendent Timothy Bernhardt said PETA contacted them on Friday, and a criminal complaint was filed.
“It’s just barbaric. It’s inhumane that someone could do that,” Bernhardt said, according to a report from The Daily Times. “She’s going to answer to all four of the incidents. Detectives looked into it and charged her. Hopefully it will send a message that this is cruelty.”
Bernhardt added that the most disturbing part is “the fact that you are soliciting and people are encouraging this.”
The report explained:
A video called “Cooking lucky” posted live this past Friday shows the woman alongside a live chicken in a sink.
The woman repeatedly commented on the number of viewers and likes, and solicited more, before she harmed the animal. At 9:56, and for roughly the next 10 minutes, she aggressively handles the clearly terrified animal, plucking feathers from the bird’s neck, and hacked repeatedly at the struggling bird’s throat with knives while the animal attempted to escape.
At one point the bird jumps out of the sink, the woman then climbs onto the counter and pins it with her feet before sawing at the bird’s neck in a slow back and forth motion. She continued carving at the animal’s neck for more than two minutes, until the screen went black.
A September video titled “cook with Ani (coking frogs and fufu)” shows the woman with three frogs. Just over one minute into that video she began to carve open the first animal’s stomach, with the animal still alive, as she slowly pulled out the frog’s organs.
She is heard saying that he’s still alive and joking that he’s “dancing.”
She proceeded to do the same to the other two conscious animals, in the same agonizing and prolonged manner while singing a song; “Happy death day” (to the tune of “Happy Birthday”) to the third animal.
In August, Monsee filmed herself torturing a pigeon while making sexual references. She stroked the bird with a knife before plucking its feathers while still alive, running its head under scalding hot water, then slowly sawing its head off with a dull blade.
In another video, she tortured live rabbits.
Monsee is currently being held at Delaware County prison on a $200,000 bond, which she has been unable to post.
The twisted YouTuber’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 5.

Joe Biden on Sunday continued to pander to the black community in Columbia, South Carolina ahead of the state’s Democrat primary set for February 3.
81-year-old Biden participated in a political event at St. John the Baptist Church on Sunday.
He brazenly lied from the pulpit about his role in the civil rights movement and his history of attending black churches. This is just weeks after he lied about ‘starting the civil rights movement’ during a stump speech at a black church in Charleston.
“Thanks for bringing me home. You all think I’m kidding. For the longest time, when I was a young public defender and a United States senator, I went to, if you’ll excuse me, an AME church, I apologize,” Biden said.
This of course, never happened.

Biden falsely claimed he attended a black church during the civil rights era.
“I’d always go to 7:30 mass at St. Joe’s, which is a Catholic church built by indentured Irish servants … then I’d go to 10:30 service with Rev. Beaman during the civil rights era when I was working hard as a young man,” Biden said.

Joe Biden never participated in the civil rights movement.
This is one of Biden’s favorite lies (he has many). He has told a version of this lie many times.
This lie has been repeatedly debunked.
In 1987, Joe Biden falsely claimed he marched in the civil rights movement and eventually dropped out of the presidential race.
Biden finally admitted he lied about marching in the civil rights movement.

Joe Biden is a lifelong racist who regularly had lunch with segregationist James Eastland.
Biden was also good friends with Ku Klux Klan Exalted Cyclops Robert Byrd.

Republican Rep. Tom Emmer has said he is the latest victim in a long string of political figures being swatted.
Swatting is the act of calling in a fake police report, usually about a violent crime, to a person’s home or business — prompting a heavy police response.
Approximately 30 politicians, journalists, and other political figures have swatted in America since November.
“Tonight my family and I were the target of a ‘swatting’ incident involving a 911 prank call that wrongly diverted a police presence to my home,” Rep. Emmer said in a post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. “Sadly, this illegal and dangerous scheme is being used nationwide to target elected officials.”
Thankfully, no one was home or injured. I condemn this illegal abuse of police resources.
I want to thank the Wright County Sheriff’s Office for their professionalism and support.
I will have no additional comment on this matter.

The Minnesota politician continued, “Thankfully, no one was home or injured. I condemn this illegal abuse of police resources. I want to thank the Wright County Sheriff’s Office for their professionalism and support. I will have no additional comment on this matter.”
Dozens of swatting incidents have happened in recent months, with one even being called in to the White House.
On Saturday, it was reported that neoconservative presidential candidate Nikki Haley was the victim of a swatting on December 30.
The caller had claimed that he shot his girlfriend and was preparing to shoot himself at Haley’s $2.4 million waterfront estate on Kiawah Island, South Carolina.
Leftist billionaire George Soros was swatted earlier this month. George Washington University legal scholar Jonathan Turley’s Virginia home was swatted days before.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Republican Georgia State Sens. John Albers, Kay Kirkpatrick and Clint Dixon, Democrat Kim Jackson, and New York GOP Rep. Brandon Williams were all reportedly swatted on Christmas.
Georgia Lt. Gov. Burt Jones, Rep. Rick Scott, Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, and Rep. Kevin Miller are among the other swatting victims.
Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows was swatted after she removed former President Donald Trump from the state’s primary ballot.
No suspects have been named in any of the incidents. It remains unclear if it is being done by one person, or many.
In 2017, a fake police report was called to the home of a man named Andrew Finch in Wichita, Kansas. The swatter had claimed that he had shot his father to death and was holding the rest of his family hostage.
Finch was unarmed and on his porch when he was shot by a police officer who believed that he was reaching for a gun.
The false report had been called in by serial swatter Tyler Barriss, who pleaded guilty to 51 charges of swatting in 2019 — including one count of making a false report resulting in a death.
Barriss was sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2019 under a plea agreement.
The Hill reports, “Sens. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) and Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) unveiled a bill earlier this month aimed at increasing the penalties for swatting incidents. Scott, himself, was a swatting victim last month.”
“Scott said the bill would ensure the ‘cowards’ behind these swatting calls ‘face serious consequences.’”
