Surveillance video captured a quick-thinking Chicago jewelry store employee shooting a 27-year-old crook trying to steal from his store, foiling a huge robbery. But the brave man’s actions were not rewarded in any way by the Windy City’s authorities.
As CBS News Chicago reported, the incident occurred just before 11 a.m. Saturday on Jeweler’s Row, in the 0-100 block of North Wabash Avenue.
Footage shows the thief, who is wearing a red sweatshirt, wandering around briefly before making a dash toward the store’s entrance.
He then begins to bash in a glass case in an attempt to steal thousands of dollars worth of jewelry. But the employee promptly reaches behind the counter and opens fire on the man, hitting him in the buttocks and abdomen.
The thug is next seen struggling to gain his balance outside the store before darting back in to grab a small bag and running up the stairs to a nearby “L” train platform.

CBS Chicago revealed police eventually caught up to the robber and arrested him. He was then taken to the hospital to treat his gunshot wounds.
The employee who saved the day is a concealed carry license holder, according to the outlet.
CWB Chicago reports that the police also took the heroic worker into custody, and prosecutors considered charging him with a crime before ultimately backing off at least for now.
Authorities also declined to press charges against the thief, continuing a citywide pattern of coddling violent criminals at the expense of public safety.
The investigation reportedly remains ongoing. The employee likely has more cause for worry than the thief, given Chicago’s laughable justice system.

Chris Kuehne was sentenced on Friday for his actions on January 6, 2021 at the US Capitol.
Chris is a 22-year veteran who received numerous medals and awards, including the Purple Heart, a Navy Commendation Medal with Valor, and a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with Valor for actions in combat.
Chris has personally sacrificed his blood, sweat, and tears serving our country and has paid the price for his duty and continues to live with debilitating and invisible injuries. Even before this Chris has protected people and helped people in need. As a 9-year-old Cub Scout he was awarded the Boy Scouts of America’s highest honor, the Medal of Merit, for saving his young sister from a burning car.
On January 6, 2021, Chris went inside the Capitol but did not cause any harm or damage – in fact, he cleaned trash off the floor, helped to stop theft of government property, asked people to leave the building, and went up to Capitol Police Officers to ask how he could help. Chris was also set up by an FBI operative that day. Chris committed no violence and did nothing wrong.
One month later, in the early morning of February 11, 2021 Chris, his four-year-old child, and his wife Annette, who was pregnant at the time were awakened to sirens, cell phone rings, and bursts of colorful lights reflecting through our windows.
Annette later went public about the raid, “The FBI instructed Chris to come outside immediately. Our 4-year-old was awakened from the chaos, and I picked him up and ran downstairs to open the front door. Our house, street and neighboring streets were completely surrounded by armed FBI and law enforcement. It was a scene that we see so many times in the movies, but now it was here at my house! There were three large armored tactical vehicles parked on my front, side and back yard, and police vehicles that extended throughout the entire community. I open the door, and for a second, I didn’t realize that there were about twenty FBI SWAT Team members with semi-automatic rifles pointed at my son and I. We were covered by the bright red lasers pointed at our faces, chests, and various points on our bodies.”

Chris Kuehne was sentenced on Friday, February 23, 2024 in a DC courtroom.
Chris, a decorated war veteran who was picking up trash inside the US Capitol on January 6, 2021, was sentenced to:
** 75 days in prison
** 60 days of home detention
** 2 years of probation.
He needs to be taught a lesson.
His son will forever be traumatized for this wicked act by his government.
For the record, Chris was setup by an FBI operative who was embedded in his Kansas City group before Jan. 6.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is slated to sign a bill that would enable the release of grand jury documents related to the 2006 investigation of sexual predator Jeffrey Epstein.
For context, in July 2006, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) initiated an investigation into Jeffrey Epstein, a wealthy financier, under the codename “Operation Leap Year“. The probe culminated in a 53-page indictment by June 2007, exposing the depths of Epstein’s alleged sex crimes involving minors.
However, the case took an unexpected turn when Alexander Acosta, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida at the time, brokered a plea deal. This agreement, negotiated with the assistance of attorney Alan Dershowitz, effectively granted Epstein immunity from all federal criminal charges, along with four named co-conspirators and any potential unnamed accomplices.
The Miami Herald reported that the non-prosecution agreement “essentially shut down an ongoing FBI probe” into the possibility of more victims and powerful individuals involved in Epstein’s crimes. The deal, which was kept secret from the victims in violation of federal law, halted further investigations and sealed the indictment.
Acosta later justified the leniency of the deal by claiming he was informed that Epstein “belonged to intelligence” and that the issue was above his “pay grade,” the Daily Beast reported.
Now, Senator Tina Polsky, D-Boca Raton, was at the forefront of filing the groundbreaking bill, which saw unanimous support in the Senate, passing with a vote of 37-0. The legislation seeks to widen the scope of circumstances under which evidence and grand jury testimony can be made public, Florida’s Voice News reported.
The Epstein scandal, which has continued to stir public interest and outrage, saw the financier secure a considerably lenient plea deal in 2008, after the grand jury probe into his solicitation of minors for sexual activities.
The bill’s passage through the Senate was the final legislative hurdle, with Governor DeSantis affirming his commitment to sign it into law, stating, “All files related to Jeffrey Epstein’s criminal activity should be made public.”
“While the federal government continues to stonewall accountability, I’m glad the Legislature has taken action to release the grand jury material from the Florida state case. I will sign the bill into law,” DeSantis added.

If the bill is signed by DeSantis, it will take effect on July 1, providing a new avenue for public insight into the Epstein case. The release of the grand jury documents could also occur sooner through a lawsuit filed by the Palm Beach Post, which has pursued legal action for transparency since 2019, CBS News reported.
It can be recalled that earlier this year, a set of documents detailed Ghislaine Maxwell’s recruiting techniques, Prince Andrew’s abuse of the trafficked victims, and Bill Clinton’s fondness for “young” girls was released to the public by Judge Loretta Preska. The unsealed cache of documents comes from lawsuits related to Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse which potentially included names of over 150 people.
In July 2022, Gateway Pundit lawyers Marc Randazza and Jay Wolman of the Randazza Legal Group, along with GP General Counsel John Burns, filed a motion to intervene in the Guiffre v. Maxwell case in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
GP is asking the Court to unseal all records identifying Epstein’s Sex Clients.
In August 2022, the federal judge overseeing the case denied Gateway Pundit’s efforts to unseal the documents.
However, Gateway Pundit filed an appeal to the federal Second Circuit Court of Appeals, demanding that GP and the public be allowed to access the Epstein Sex Client list.
On February 27, 2023, a “John Doe” interested party (a person whose identity had been sealed by the court because of their affiliation with Epstein) filed a Brief opposing Gateway Pundit’s appeal and asking the Court of Appeals to deny the brief.
The “John Doe”’s arguments are extremely lame. “Doe” merely argues that Gateway Pundit waited too long to request the arguments. According to “Doe,” GP and the public have no interest in the Epstein sex client list because too much time has transpired.

In a controversial move, the City of Madras is proposing a new policy that would levy fines against grocery stores for shopping carts that are stolen and found near homeless camps, according to a report by Central Oregon Daily News.
Local grocery stores acknowledge the issue but are divided on the solution.
Kevin Eidemiller, co-manager of Ericksons Thriftway, expressed his frustration to Central Oregon Daily, “We’ve had close to probably 70 to 100 carts stolen in the last two years. At least once a week to every other week, we go hunting for our own carts.”
The City made contact with grocery stores late last year to prompt action to retain carts on the property.
Nicholas Snead, Madras Community Development Director, highlighted the need for a resolution: “When we started to see the relationship between shopping carts not being kept on the retailer’s property and then being used in ways that weren’t intended, we thought we needed to start figuring out a way to solve this problem.”
Despite these discussions, the city has seen no significant improvement, leading to the drafting of a new proposal. “If the shopping cart is not on the property, it’s a $100 offense,” said Snead.
According to the proposal, “Each occurrence of a violation, or, in the case of continuous violations, each day a violation occurs or continues, constitutes a separate offense and may be punished separately.”
Eidemiller, however, sees this as an unfair burden on businesses, “If you have your own private property, you shouldn’t be fined for it being taken off your own premise. It seems pretty excessive.”

The city is hosting an open house on February 26 to discuss potential solutions with retailers.

“We understand that managing shopping carts can pose logistical challenges for local retailers, but it is crucial that we work together to minimize unintended impacts to the community. By keeping shopping carts on premises, we can minimize the risk of them being misused and mitigate the associated problems for our community.
“These regulations would also entail retailers being fined for non-compliance. Shopping cart management is an issue that affects not only individual businesses but also residents and the overall aesthetics and functionality of our community.
“In November of 2023, the City contacted each retailer and communicated the problem and requested changes to their operations to ensure shopping carts remain on premises. After several months of not seeing significant changes, the City is considering implementing regulations that would mandate businesses to retain their shopping carts on premises.
“City staff initially raised the issue to the Madras Homeless Advisory Committee at their December 2023 and January 2024 meetings. At the January 22, 2024, Homeless Advisory Committee meeting, the committee took formal action to make a recommendation to the City Council to approve the proposed shopping cart regulations. (The draft regulations are included in that meeting’s agenda packet.)
“The City believes it is crucial that the City provide an opportunity for stakeholders to have the chance to contribute to the conversation before the City Council considers establishing these regulations.
“The City of Madras is hosting an Open House at City Hall in the City Council Chambers located at 125 SW “E” Street, Madras, OR 97741 on Monday, February 26, from 2:00-3:30 PM to discuss the proposed shopping cart regulations.
“The purpose of this gathering is to provide an opportunity for stakeholders, including local business owners, to learn, voice their opinions, concerns, and suggestions regarding the proposed regulations. The Open House will include presentations by city staff, as well as opportunities for attendees to ask questions and share their perspectives.”
