A newly released study has found that nearly half of all college graduates work high school-level jobs, like retail or food service.
The study by Burning Glass Institute and Strada Institute for the Future of Work also found that 52 percent of college graduates are underemployed a year after graduating.
The report explained that “underemployment” refers to “the experience of four-year college graduates who are employed in jobs that don’t typically require a bachelor’s degree.”
“Seventy-three percent of graduates who start out underemployed remain so 10 years after completing college, making them at that point about 3.5 times more likely to be underemployed compared with those who start out in a college-level job,” the survey found.
“A recent graduate employed in a college-level job typically earns about 88 percent more than a high school diploma holder, while an underemployed graduate typically earns only about 25 percent more than someone with no education beyond high school. This leaves underemployed graduates on weaker financial footing as they start their careers, especially those with substantial student loan debt”
The cost-to-degree and degree-to-job ratio is also a problem for college graduates.
The Epoch Times reports:
A June 2023 analysis by Campus shows that an associate degree costs about $11,600 per year, including room and board, for a full-time student. That’s $23,200 for this two-year degree.
The average yearly cost to attend a four-year public college or university with room and board was $21,035. That’s $84,140 for a bachelor’s degree.
The latest data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics show that the median annual salary of someone with an associate degree is $48,240. For those with a bachelor’s degree, it’s $68,736.
For a bachelor’s degree, data from the National Center for Education Statistics shows that business degrees are the number one major (19 percent) among today’s college students. Data compiled by Coursera shows that the median annual salary for someone with a bachelor’s degree in business is $65,000.
The report, published on Thursday, is based on data about 60 million people’s careers in the US, including 10.8 million people with a bachelor’s degree.

‘This was a hard-fought battle that paid off for parents’
A court in California has ruled in favor of a school district’s decision to restrict “false and divisive” critical race theory lessons to students.
A report from the Advocates for Faith and Freedom explained when the Temecula Valley Unified School District decided to limit the fake lessons, it was sued by the Temecula Valley Educators Association and a group of political activists.
The plaintiffs complained about a school district resolution that limited the CRT curriculum, which essentially teaches that America is all racist and to get rid of it, more racism is needed, and requires teachers to tell parents of their students’ gender transition ideas.
“This is a win for commonsense, parents, and the safety of students,” noted Robert Tyler, president of Advocates for Faith & Freedom. “TVUSD is committed to providing a quality education free from political agendas and free from dishonest and divisive curriculum. This ruling allows TVUSD to continue implementing these sound policies.”
“This was a hard-fought battle that paid off for parents,” said Mariah Gondeiro, vice president of Advocates “This ruling vindicates the actions taken by the TVUSD School Board who put the rights of parents and the safety of students over the wishes of special interest groups.”
Joseph Komrosky, school board chief, explained, “Despite the small but vocal opponents that seek to rewrite history and indoctrinate students, I am very optimistic for our school district.
“I believe that the diversity that exists among the District’s community of students, staff, parents, and guardians is an asset to be honored and valued. These policies were enacted by the school board to ensure our district puts the needs of students and their parents above all else. Our district remains focused on providing a holistic education for all of our students, free from both discrimination and indoctrination.”
The lawsuit’s allegations included that restricting the biased and racist CRT teachings hurt children of color and LGBTQ students.
Tyler said, earlier, “The Board’s opposition to CRT is based precisely on the discriminatory philosophy it encourages and is thus not tantamount to discrimination or the failure to provide a quality education, but in fact just the opposite.”
“TVUSD is committed to providing students with a holistic education, instead of pushing political agendas and divisive curriculum. Our contention is that the TVUSD is doing exactly what they were elected by parents to do, which is guide curriculum in accordance with what is best for all students, free from the political influences and whims of lobbyists and special interest groups.”

Stealing cars is often more than a single person breaking into a car and driving off. In some cases, it’s a well-organized operation by highly skilled thieves.
Surveillance footage showed a group of teens break into a Wisconsin Range Rover dealership last week. The group is suspected to be a part of a crime ring based out of Chicago.
According to the video footage, there were nine masked suspects who stole nine vehicles with an estimated worth totaling over $500,000.
Fox News reported:
A group of teens believed to be part of a Chicago-area organized crime ring broke into a luxury Range Rover dealership in Wisconsin last week and drove away with nine cars with a total value of over half a million dollars, authorities said.
Surveillance video captured the moment nine masked suspects busted into the Jaguar-Land Rover dealership at about 6 a.m. on Feb. 18 in Waukesha, about 19 miles west of Milwaukee.
Waukesha Police Capt. Dan Baumann told WISN-TV that the suspects broke into the dealership and found where the car keys were stored before activating the key fobs to locate each car they would steal.
According to Waukesha Police Captain Dan Baumann, the suspects found the key fobs before stealing the vehicles.
“Police at the time said that the suspects were believed to be ‘an organized crime group of teenagers from the Chicago area’ and most are known to members of a police task force in southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois,” Fox News reported.
A 17 year old suspect was arrested on Sunday after he crashed one of the stolen vehicles during a police pursuit on I 94 in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin. He was booked into Waukesha County jail on $50 thousand bond. He faces theft, property damage and burglary charges.
So far six of the nine vehicles have been recovered. As of Friday, the eight other suspects are still at large.
Surveillance footage shows the masked suspects walking around the showroom floor on February 18th around 6:00 am.
The video continues with one of the vehicles reversing and breaking through a garage door. After that, outside video shows the vehicles leaving the dealership property.

Disney’s new X-Men ‘97 cartoon will feature a “non-binary” character.
The show is going to be rated TV-14.
According to Bounding Into Comics, “showrunner Beau DeMayo has revealed that unlike the original series, the upcoming revival will portray the mutant shapeshifter Morph as a nonbinary individual.”
The report explains:
Alas, while this ham-fisted change is certainly disappointing, it cannot be said that it is wholly unexpected.
After all, as stated by DeMayo during a 2023 Marvel livestream event regarding the series, one of his goals with X-Men ’97 was “to just get this right and really drill down to what I think the X-Men’s always going to be about which is just, you know, we talk a lot about the dream is social acceptance and it’s social justice.”
“I think that can sometimes make certain people feel alienated and for me it’s always going to come down to, I think, the X-Men and what we’re going to be trying to do with this series is talking about the power of empathy, and how it can kind of heal these wounds that turn people against each other,” he explained. “That things like racism and bigotry don’t ‘just exist’ – there’s a reason behind it that empathy can kind of help us connect and build those bridges where we can actually say, ‘Hey, we are all different, but we have these little things that can still connect us.’”
Morph, a shapeshifter, originally presented themselves as male in the original series — though he could change himself into characters of other sexes as part of his abilities.
The character is also being promoted as having an “interesting buddy relationship with Wolverine.”
Idgaf if Morph is binary or nonbinary. What I do have a problem with is if they push a relationship between morph and Wolverine for the sake of being woke and with Disney’s track record it’s pretty much what’s going to end up happening . They’re going to ruin Wolverine. DOA pic.twitter.com/dhrrAa2pfp
