A GoFundMe fundraising campaign launched to help cover former President Donald Trump’s legal fees has raised over a million dollars in about a week.
The fundraiser’s goal is $355 million — the amount of penalties that Trump was ordered to pay in a civil fraud case in New York earlier this month.
The campaign was launched by a Florida woman named Elena Cardone, the wife of investor and entrepreneur Grant Cardone.
As of Saturday afternoon, the campaign had raised $1,177,020 from over 20,000 donors.
The description of the fundraiser explains, “My name is Elena Cardone and I am a wife of Grant Cardone, mother and an ardent supporter of American values and an advocate for justice, I stand unwaveringly with President Donald Trump in the face of what I see as unprecedented and unfair treatment by certain judicial elements in New York.”
“The recent legal battles he faces are not just an attack on him, but an attack on the very ideals of fairness and due process that every American deserves,” the fundraiser’s description continues. “It’s a moment that calls into question the balance of justice and the application of law, disproportionately aimed at silencing a voice that has been at the forefront of advocating for American strength, prosperity, and security.”
“In standing with Trump, we’re upholding the cause of every business owner and entrepreneur who believes in the fight against a system that increasingly seeks to penalize dissent and curb our freedoms.”
Cardone wrote, “This is more than a legal fund; it’s a call to all business owners and entrepreneurs to rally in defense of all businesses and for man who has never hesitated to stand in defense of us.”
“Now, more than ever, it’s time for business owners and entrepreneurs to unite, to show our collective strength and resolve. Let’s stand with Trump to ensure that justice prevails and that we continue to fight for a country that respects freedom, honors courage, and rewards the unwavering spirit of its people.”
Trump has vowed to appeal the ruling, which his legal team has called a “politically fueled witch hunt.”
Those who wish to donate can do so here.

The second anniversary of the start of the war in Ukraine was celebrated in Kiev in a very symbolic way: with a celebration with the attendance of four fairly minor Western leaders, including the prime ministers of Italy, Canada, and Belgium, as well as the EU Commission president.
With no American, British, French or German leaders participating, this diminished ceremony paints a perfect image of the dwindling Ukrainian relevance in the minds of the top leaders in the west.
Reuters reported:
“Italy’s Giorgia Meloni, Canada’s Justin Trudeau, Belgium’s Alexander De Croo and the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, travelled to the Ukrainian capital together overnight by train from neighboring Poland, the Italian government said in a statement.”
The Guardian reported:
“The leaders visited Hostomel airport, near Kiev, which Russian paratroopers seized at the start of Moscow’s all-out attack. Ukrainian troops regained control of the airfield and thwarted Russian plans to capture the capital.
“Two years ago we met enemy troopers here with fire, and two years later, we are meeting our friends, our partners, here,” Zelensky said. He added: “Any normal person wants the war to end. But none of us will allow our Ukraine to end”.
Zelensky later spoke with Joe Biden on a video call. The show of solidarity came at a time when Ukrainian troops have suffered defeats on the battlefield, including the recent loss of the eastern city of Avdiivka.”
The international support for the Ukrainian war effort is also shaky, with a US military aid package stuck in Congress, as the ‘artillery shell famine’ means Kiev’s defenses are starting to crumble in multiple point of the frontline.
A celebrity visitor to Kiev, former British PM Boris Johnson led a cross-party delegation of British MPs.
Named as the former leader who disrupted the Russia and Ukraine peace talks in Turkey in 2022, Johnson said he was ‘more convinced than ever’ that Ukraine could defeat Russia.
“It had already destroyed a huge number of Russian tanks and soldiers, he said. He called on Kiev to eliminate the Kerch Bridge connecting Russia with occupied Crimea. ‘I want to blow this one up’, he said, urging democratic countries ‘to do more’ and to boost defense production.
Johnson said he was convinced Republicans would approve the White House’s stalled $61bn package for Ukraine. ‘I think in the end the US, having exhausted all the available alternatives, will do the right thing’, he predicted. ‘It’s not in the interests of US presidents to allow Putin to win’.”
BBC reported:
“Zelensky said in his speech on Saturday that while any normal person would want the war to end, it could only be on Ukraine’s terms.
“That’s why, to the words ‘end of the war’, we always add ‘on our terms’. That’s why the word ‘peace’ always goes with ‘fair’.
‘We are fighting for it. For 730 days of our lives already. And we will win on the best day of our life’.”
But no amount of bravado can make up for the absence of the major NATO leaders.
No senior US representatives were present, whereas last year President Joe Biden himself attended the anniversary.
“Italy and Canada used the anniversary visit to announce that they had signed bilateral security pacts with Kiev- meant to boost Ukraine’s hopes of becoming a member of the Nato military alliance.”
The war is not going well, as only a week ago, Ukraine withdrew from the key Donbas town of Avdiivka.
Amid attacks all over the frontline, the small gain Kiev had in the offensive, the village of Rabotyno in Zaporozhie, is under renewed Russian assault and may fall soon.

Former President Donald Trump crushed Nikki Haley in the Conservative Political Action Conference’s (CPAC) straw poll on Saturday.
Trump destroyed Haley with a whopping 94 percent to her five percent.
The poll concluded on the same day that Trump handily defeated Haley in the primary for her home state of South Carolina.
CPAC also polled attendees about their vice presidential picks — which South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy tied.
Just the News reports:
Trump now stands as the all-time leader of the CPAC straw poll with seven wins, followed by Utah Sen. Mitt Romney with four, and Ronald Reagan, Jack Kemp and Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul with three wins each.
The Conservative Political Action Conference conducts the straw poll annually to get an idea of who the Republican base wants for its next president.
Trump is the frontrunner for the Republican nomination by an absurd margin — but Haley has vowed not to drop out of the race before Super Tuesday.

A Virginia couple is feared dead after their docked yacht was hijacked by escaped prisoners in the Caribbean.
The couple, Ralph Hendry and Kathy Brandel, live on their yacht during the winter.
Hendry and Brandel were last seen in Grenada’s capital of St. George on Sunday afternoon. They had arrived at the island two weeks ago and planned to stay one more week before leaving to return to Falls Church, according to a report from the New York Post.
The ransacked yacht was located in Saint Vincent, but the American couple was nowhere to be found.

Fox 5 DC reports that it was “apparent that a violent act took place.”
Three escaped prisoners are now in custody for the hijacking and the couple’s disappearance. They were already facing robbery and rape charges according to the station.
“The men escaped their holding cell on Sunday, Feb. 18. Sometime in between then and Wednesday, investigators believe they made contact with Ralph and Kathy on their boat,” the Fox report explains.
The Royal Grenada Police Force said in a statement they are “working on leads that suggest that the two occupants of the yacht may have been killed in the process. It is believed that the occupants of the yacht were American citizens.”
Ralph Hendry’s sister, Suellen Desmarais, told the station that she is holding out hope that they are alive.
“On Sunday, they went into the town around 3 o’clock because another boater saw them go into town. And then the other boater, when he went to bed, he noticed that they were there cause you always look to see who is around you and in the morning, when the boater woke up they were gone,” Desmarais said. “Why would I presume anyone is dead with no body and DNA? I want to remain positive. I want to believe that they are alive.”

The Republican South Carolina primary kicked off on Saturday with 50 delegates up for grabs.
President Trump crushed Nikki Haley in her home state in South Carolina’s presidential primary.
NBC projected Trump as the winner with 59% of the vote to Haley’s 40%.
NBC News reported:
Former President Donald Trump won a resounding victory in South Carolina’s GOP presidential primary on Saturday, NBC News projects, continuing a winning streak through each Republican nominating contest so far — and putting him in position to potentially clinch the party’s presidential nomination within the next month.
Defeat for former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley is a blow in her home state. A total of 50 delegates were on the line in Saturday’s contest, which are split between the statewide winner and the winner of each congressional district. And Trump’s dominant performance in the exit polling and earliest results suggest he could pull off a clean sweep.
The NBC exit poll shows Trump and Haley fighting to a near-draw among Republican voters with college degrees: Trump 51%, Haley 47%. But it was a blowout among the bigger group of primary voters without degrees: Trump 75%, Haley 25%.

Despite losing every primary so far to Trump, former UN Ambassador and South Carolina governor Nikki Haley has vowed to stay in the race.
Trump has swept four states so far: Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, and South Carolina.
As usual, there were issues with the voting tabulators in South Carolina on Saturday.
Of course.
Earlier Saturday it was reported there were reports of issues with voting tabulators in at least one precinct in Richland County.
Real America’s Voice Michelle Backus was on the ground in Satchel Ford Elementary in Columbia, SC. She spoke with Tony Burkes, a voter in that particular precinct. He said after he filled out his ballot and ran it through the scanner, he received an error message.
