From the White House to think tanks, and even mainstream media outlets like CNN, White Christian nationalists have been vilified, being labeled as the greatest threat to national security and religious freedom. Previously, being a nationalist or patriot was viewed positively, but now even love for one’s country can be interpreted as un-American. Athletes wearing the US uniform may choose not to stand for the national anthem as a signal of their virtue. Some Christians serving in the military feel they’re facing persecution. Concurrently, the U.S. military is grappling with a recruitment crisis, partially due to perceived exclusion of Christians and conservatives by woke policies, while many young people, influenced by woke ideologies, view nationalism negatively and are disinterested in joining.
Veterans from earlier generations express dismay at what they see as a targeted campaign against patriotic Christians with conservative beliefs. Robert Brown, a 56-year-old Army veteran and ordained Baptist minister, disagrees with the negative associations attached to the term “white Christian nationalist.” While he acknowledges the harm caused by extreme right groups like Nazis, he emphasizes that they represent only a tiny fraction of the 246 million American Christians. Brown remarks, “The people that talk about these issues tend to throw everyone in the same bucket. When they mention white Christian nationalists, I think of people who have faith and also care a whole lot about the government, and politics.”
Fifty-four-year-old Ken Talbert, a veteran with over seven years of service in the U.S. Army, has spoken out against what he perceives as unfair attacks from the media. ““Being white and Christian apparently makes you a Christian nationalist in their eyes,” he remarked. “They think we are nationalists because we don’t want open borders and millions of unvetted people coming over the border. We don’t agree with White House policies and that makes us white nationalists s.” Talbert clarified his understanding of the term, stating, “When I think white nationalists, I think about people who want a full white nation. That has never been an interest of mine, or anyone I know. I just want a nation of borders and laws.”
Once a word becomes a meme, its original meaning often shifts from the dictionary definition to encompass anything someone dislikes. In today’s context, every dispute or conflict is labeled as a genocide, individuals disliked are equated to Hitler, and any opposing political viewpoint is branded as fascism. The ambiguity surrounding these terms makes it challenging to counter them effectively. Hence, it’s crucial to establish a clear definition of white Christian nationalism before engaging in arguments against it.
Brad Onishi, a former evangelical minister who once aligned with Christian nationalism, now voices opposition to it and hosts the podcast “Straight White American Jesus.” Speaking to NPR, he described Christian nationalism as “an ideology that is based around the idea that this is a Christian nation, that this was founded as a Christian nation, and, therefore, it should be a Christian nation today and should be so in the future.”
Regarding the title of Mr. Onishi’s podcast, “Straight White American Jesus,” it’s worth noting that the Bible portrays Jesus as heterosexual. Additionally, there’s historical evidence that the nation was founded with Christian principles, as all of the founding fathers were Christians, and the original pilgrim settlers fled religious persecution in Europe. Talbert further emphasized this point, stating, “Despite what they are saying our nation was formed one nation under God. It is a Christian nation. We separate church and state, so neither has full power nor has full control.” He also highlighted the contradiction in compelling people to adhere to Christianity, noting, “We cannot have a nation of all Christians because that would be against Christianity. That would be forced compliance.”
While many Christian patriots hold the belief that the United States was established as a Christian nation, it’s unlikely you’ll find any who claim Jesus was American. Regarding whether Jesus was white, it’s a complex issue. All Christians acknowledge Jesus as Jewish, so it comes down to how one defines terms. While some may perceive Jews as white, the question remains loaded. Even if someone were to view Jesus as white or American, does this automatically classify him as a national security threat or disqualify him from serving in the military?
“Christians make good soldiers,” said Michael Harr, age 55, a 25-year Army veteran who participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom. “They believe in America and what America stands for, and as flawed as America is, it’s better than most other countries.” He went on to ask, “We are a Christian nation. How can we be the enemies of ourselves?”
Biden’s assertion that white Christian nationalists pose the greatest threat to national security diverts attention from more pressing issues. The Annual Threat Assessment released by the intelligence community consistently identifies China and Russia as the primary threats, followed by North Korea, Iran, and extremism, including Islamic extremism. Notably, the document mentions “white supremacy” only once, with no mention of Christianity. Similarly, the Department of Homeland Security’s Summary of Terrorism-Related Threats to the United States references “white” twice but does not designate white Christian nationalists as a national threat. Instead, it noted a single instance from 2022 when “certain domestic violent extremists” praised the manifesto of a white supremacist who carried out an attack on an LGBTQI+ bar in Slovakia.
Robert Brown recognized that other types of extremists are not designated as security threats, asking, “What would be the difference if an extreme liberal person wanted to join the military?” He went on to point out, “There is a continuum. If you go so far left, it’s socialism. Go further and it is communism. So, who’s more dangerous: a communist or a Christian?” He concluded with, “The communist atheist is bad; the Christian nationalist is good.

President Trump promised to defend Christians against the radical left’s anti-Christian policies during his latest speaking engagement at the National Religious Broadcasters Convention in Nashville, Tennessee.
The 45th president told the crowd of Christian broadcasters and other attendees, “Every communist regime throughout history has tried to stamp out the churches, just like every fascist regime has tried to co-opt them and control them…And, in America, the radical left is trying to do both.”
Trump is right; as The Gateway Pundit previously reported, the DOJ under the Biden admin charged six Christian pro-life activists for praying and singing Hymns inside an abortion clinic in Nashville, Tennessee.
The six pro-life activists have since been convicted of violating the FACE Act and a “felony count of conspiracy against rights,” which in total can carry up to an 11-year sentence.
Later in his speech, Trump declared, “No one will be touching the Cross of Christ under the Trump Administration; I swear to you, that will never happen,” which garnered loud applause from the audience.

Per AP:
Former President Donald Trump promised to use a second term in the White House to defend Christian values and even suggested he’d shield the faith’s central iconography, warning a convention of religious broadcasters on Thursday night that the left wants “to tear down crosses.”
“Remember, every communist regime throughout history has tried to stamp out the churches, just like every fascist regime has tried to co-opt them and control them,” Trump told hundreds of cheering attendees at the National Religious Broadcasters International Christian Media Convention in Nashville. “And, in America, the radical left is trying to do both.”
“They want to tear down crosses where they can, and cover them up with social justice flags,” Trump added. “But no one will be touching the cross of Christ under the Trump administration, I swear to you.”
The Gateway Pundit has reported abundantly on the vast persecution the Biden admin has imposed on Christians.
In a previous report, The Gateway Pundit reported on the House Weaponization Committee finding, which revealed the Biden admin was flagging transactions of Americans who were shopping at Cabela’s, Dick’s, and those who had recently bought a Bible.

Kicked out of the Army for objecting to the once-mandated COVID-19 vaccine, a soldier finally gets the Honorable discharge he’s been seeking—but he still demands accountability for the failures that have affected thousands of others like him.
The Gateway Pundit spoke to Derrick Wynne, a former Army private first class booted from the military for refusing to get the COVID-19 shot. In November 2021, he received a General Officer Memorandum of Reprimand (GOMOR), which is an administrative letter of reprimand placed on what was an honorable service record. By June 2022, he was out of the Army.
Initially, there was no option for his commander to grant him an Honorable discharge. Interestingly, after seeking legal counsel, he received a new packet with the option. Although his commander and first sergeant recommended him for an Honorable discharge, he received a General under honorable discharge with the violation of a serious offense tacked on from higher leadership.
Wynne appealed the decision but suspects his paperwork was either never read or blanketly denied like the thousands of other service members who were also seeking exemption from the COVID-19 injection.
After what he described as “an abrupt separation” from the Army, Wynne was left homeless, forcing him to apply for unemployment. “I couldn’t get unemployment because I didn’t have an Honorable discharge, [and] I couldn’t start a veteran-owned business for the same reason.”
On the one hand, he was unable to find work due to the unfavorable discharge. On the other, when potential employers would ask why he was ousted from the Army, he would have to share his objection to getting the COVID-19 shot, which he described as “a contentious issue” for many.
In addition, he could not utilize any education benefits available to most veterans. He also struggled to get a job because of the “serious offense” of refusing to get the jab. “The Army’s decision rippled outwards in immeasurable ways and my family felt every bit of it,” he lamented.
Wynne immediately filed for a discharge upgrade with the Army Discharge Review Board, expecting to wait approximately six months for the matter to be processed.
“When I didn’t hear anything, I reached out to local politicians,” he said. First, he sought help from Rep. Brian Babin (R-TX) to no avail. Then, he reached out Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), state Rep. Steve Toth (R-TX), and state Rep. Briscoe Cain (R-TX) with similar results.
“Every politician I reached out to was only interested in getting me back into the Army,” he said. “As soon as I expressed any level of desire for accountability [over the unlawfulness of the now-rescinded COVID-19 vaccine mandate], they stopped talking to me all together.”
Missing in Action: Accountability
Twenty months after submitting paperwork for a discharge upgrade himself, Wynne was notified earlier this week that he would be granted an Honorable discharge.
According to the case report and directive reviewed by The Gateway Pundit, “The Board considered [Wynne’s] exemption request based on the distinction between the Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) Pfizer vaccine and the FDA Comirnaty vaccine, and his request to receive the Comirnaty vaccine.” Interestingly, a vaccine with full FDA-approval and licensure was never offered to service members like Wynne—which is what led to his forced separation from the Army in the first place.
In addition, the Board attributed the missing option to be selected for an Honorable discharge to “an administrative error.” Thus, “the Board concurred the current discharge [was] inequitable and warranted an upgrade.”
The Army has also given him the option to reenlist, but he said he’s “lost all trust” in leadership and the institution. Wynne was a “hard refusal” over the COVID-19 jab. And he no longer wants to serve in a military that pushed an injection touted as a vaccine that never should have been mandated.
To that end, he said, the Army Discharge Review Board admitted as much when acknowledging that he requested an FDA-approved vaccine over an EUA. “It’s clear as day; they knew they only had emergency use authorized injections available,” he explained.
“For the last year and a half, no governmental organization wanted to put this truth on paper,” he said. “They didn’t want to be the first to let the secret out.”
Even though he stands to gain several benefits for his time of service to the country, Wynne remains disappointed that the Department of Defense (DOD), senior military leadership, and politicians still refuse to admit that “the law was broken when they tried to force an EUA COVID-19 injection on service members.”
“Until there are names and faces of people held accountable, I won’t be satisfied,” he said. “There needs to be accountability for the amount of coercion and manipulation that occurred over this so-called vaccine.”
According to Wynne, “All the congressmen who have been dragging their feet, trying to avoid saying the vaccine was unlawful and refusing to acknowledge me and help me, it looks like I have the silver bullet [from the Army Discharge Review Board’s decision on my case].”
“So, now,” Wynne argued, “it’s quite obvious that any politician who’s not acting on this and saying the [COVID-19] shot mandate was illegal, is doing so for a deliberate reason.”
For this reason, Wynne is one of the signatories to the Declaration of Military Accountability, which includes the signatures of 231 current and former military members who seek accountability over the harm caused by the DOD’s implementation of the mandate.
A petition accompanies the declaration and others are encouraged to pledge their support to hold military leadership accountable. Almost 27,000 people have signed the petition to date.

Columbia University is yet another American institution of higher ed that has allowed anti-semitism to flourish on its campus.
Accuracy in Media reported on a letter from almost two dozen groups at Columbia suggesting violence by Hamas terrorists against innocent civilians was inevitable, “If every political avenue available to Palestinians is blocked, we should not be surprised when resistance and violence break out.”
The letter went further and hinted at more violence, “There can be no future of safety and freedom for all Israelis and Palestinians without holding the Israeli occupation accountable for its actions and putting an end to the untenable status quo of Israel’s apartheid and colonial system.”
Although the university suspended two pro-Palestine student groups, five Jewish students have filed a lawsuit against the institution, claiming the school has allowed “rampant antisemitism” to flourish on its campus.
The suit alleges that Columbia has not substantially intervened to combat the Jewish hate that has exploded on campus since the October 7 Hamas terrorist attacks on Israeli civilians.
The New York Post reports:
“Columbia, one of America’s leading universities, has for decades been one of the worst centers of academic antisemitism in the United States,” documents filed in Manhattan federal court states.
Since October 7, 2023, when Hamas terrorists invaded Israel and slaughtered, tortured, raped, burned, and mutilated 1,200 people — including infants, children, and the elderly — antisemitism at Columbia has been particularly severe and pervasive.”
The Ivy League was accused of violating its Jewish students’ civil rights by remaining indifferent, therefore enabling, acts of antisemitism on campus — an argument that students have used in recent lawsuits lodged against other top schools, including Harvard University and New York University.
Read the entire lawsuit here:
Jewish students sue Columbi… by New York Post
Columbia has been so weak in their efforts to combat antisemitism that billionaire Leon Cooperman announced in October that he would no longer donate money to Columbia University over the pro-Hamas demonstrations taking place there.
He said that the students have s**t for brains.
Billionaire Henry Swieca also pulled support from the school, citing “moral cowardice” that has left Jews feeling unsafe on campus.
On February 29, The House of Representatives Committee on Education and the Workforce will host a roundtable to discuss antisemitism in higher education. In addition to students from Columbia, students from eight other universities, including Harvard, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Penn.

ISIS bride Shamima Begum lost her appeal to return to Britain and retain her citizenship.
ISIS bride Shamima Begum left Great Britain in 2015 to join the Islamic State in Syria at age 15.
At age 19 Shamima annnounced that she wanted to return ‘home’ to the UK. In a 2019 interview Shamima said she was not sorry for joining the terror cult and is only wanting to return to Great Britain because ISIS was defeated in Syria.
She has no sense of shame and no regret.
Shamima told reporters in 2019:
Shamima Begum: I think a lot of people should have like sympathy towards me for everything I’ve been through. They don’t really have proof that I did anything that is dangerous.
Reporter: They had beheaded people. There were executions.
Shamima Begum: Yeah, I know about those things and I was OK with it. I did have a good time while I was there. It was just at the end that things got harder.
In 2020 an appeals court in Great Britain opened the door to Shamima and 600 fellow British ISIS members to return back to Britain.
In 2020, the British Court of Appeal ruled Shamima Begum should be allowed to return to the UK.
The BBC reported:
Ms. Begum, now 20, was one of three schoolgirls who left London to join the Islamic State group in Syria in 2015.
Her citizenship was revoked by the Home Office on security grounds after she was found in a refugee camp in 2019.
The Court of Appeal said she had been denied a fair hearing because she could not make her case from the Syrian camp.
The Home Office said the decision was “very disappointing” and it would “apply for permission to appeal”.
Shamima told reporters in 2020 that other ISIS members may try to return to Great Britain following her ruling.
On Friday Shamima Begum lost her appeal to return to Great Britain.
According to Sky News, on Friday morning, Dame Sue Carr, one of the appeal judges who ruled on the case, said they agreed with the commission’s decision on Ms Begum’s citizenship and dismissed her appeal.
Enjoy your life in the Syrian refugee camp, Shamima, with your fellow ISIS brides.
