Buckingham Palace Announces That King Charles Will Return to His Public Duties, but Rumors About His Poor Health Are Generating Major Controversy

It is a running mystery in the United Kingdom and around the world: what exactly is the state of King Charles’ health?

Everyone is considering that, but it is anathema to ask.

On the surface, Buckingham Palace has announced that the King is returning to his public duties, which would of course imply that he is improving in health.

But reports arise that are commenting on the increasing chatter that King Charles’ health is much worse than his aides are suggesting.

Daily Beast reported:

“Speaking to friends of the king in recent weeks about his health, the most common response is a lowering of the voice by half an octave or so, followed by the sombre, drawn-out pronouncement: ‘It’s not good’.”

Palace officials won’t publicly comment on that, of course.

Since his aides disclosed the King’s cancer diagnosis earlier this year, they also specified that they wouldn’t be providing a ‘running commentary on his health’.

“The king has never said what specific type of cancer he has been diagnosed with, apart from to say it was not prostate cancer. He is understood to be making regular visits to London for radiotherapy treatment, which can be used to treat many different types of cancer.

Of course, were Charles a private individual, his health would be nobody’s business but his own. But he is the leader of a hereditary monarchy, a head of state who can only be removed by death (or abdication, but that doesn’t seem likely to happen given the late Queen Elizabeth’s precedent). Much as his office may not wish to acknowledge it, his prognosis is very much a matter of public interest. It is certainly preoccupying some individuals in certain branches of government.”

Charles’ funeral plans are being regularly updated, it is reported.

“One old friend of the family, for example, told The Daily Beast, ‘Of course he is determined to beat it and they are throwing everything at it. Everyone is staying optimistic, but he is really very unwell. More than they are letting on’.”

The possibility of the King’s death is not openly mentioned by the U.K. press.

Christopher Andersen, the New York Times best-selling royal writer: “King Charles’ reign will by definition be short, but it’s anyone’s guess at this time just how short. In the meantime, the tried-and-true practice of revising funeral plans should not be used to make that determination. What would be enormously helpful is for the palace to be transparent about the king’s condition and his prognosis. Until that happens, gossip and speculation will continue to swirl, and conspiracy theories will abound.”

BBC’s Highest Paid Anchor Huw Edwards Resigns Following Allegations of Paying More Than $45,000 to a Teenager for Explicit Photos

BBC’s Highest Paid Anchor Huw Edwards Resigns Following Allegations of Paying More Than $45,000 to a Teenager for Explicit Photos

Huw Edwards, the highest-paid anchor for the far-left British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), has resigned this week following a prolonged absence from the airwaves due to allegations involving payments for sexually explicit photos of a teenager.

The BBC confirmed his resignation was based on “medical advice” from his doctors after nearly 40 years with the network.

“Following a period of serious medical advice, Huw Edwards has decided to resign, effectively immediately,” the BBC said on Monday.

The network expressed its agreement with Edwards’ decision, emphasizing that it would allow all involved parties to move forward.

“After 40 years of service, Huw has explained that his decision was made on the basis of medical advice from his doctors.”

“The BBC has accepted his resignation which it believes will allow all parties to move forward. We don’t believe it appropriate to comment further.”

The controversy surrounding Edwards began last year when the Sun newspaper reported that an unnamed BBC presenter had been involved in a scandal involving payments to a young individual in exchange for sexual images.

The allegations initially surfaced in a report that claimed the payments made by the anchor were intended to support the teenager’s addiction to crack cocaine, according to the New York Post.

Following days of speculation, Edwards’ identity was revealed by his wife, Vicky Flind, who disclosed that he was battling “serious mental health issues” and had been hospitalized.

London’s Metropolitan Police investigated the allegations but concluded there was no evidence to support claims of criminal activity after discussions with the alleged victim and their family.

As of his resignation, Edwards had not been on air since July of the previous year.

He was among the highest-paid figures at the BBC, with a reported salary of between $543k and $549k during the 2022-2023 period. The BBC clarified that no financial settlement accompanied his departure.

The mother of the teen involved expressed concern that Edwards’ resignation might prevent her family from getting the answers they need, fearing that no further action could be taken against him.

“In [Edwards] resigning we are worried we won’t get the answers we so desperately need,” she added.

“If Huw has been found to have done something wrong no action can be taken against him.”

OMG: James O’Keefe to Release “Most Important Story” of His “Entire Career” – “I Have Evidence that Exposes the CIA, and It’s On Camera”

James O’Keefe on Friday said he is about to release the most important story of his entire career.

“I have evidence that exposes the CIA, and it’s on camera. I am working on releasing a story that I believe is the most important of my entire career,” O’Keefe said on Friday.

“Do you think it’s a coincidence that right at this moment I am subject to an endless series of attacks?” he said. “This is obviously a sophisticated information operation designed to stop me from releasing this story. I’m sure you recognize they are masters of using half-truths and innuendos to raise doubt against people who don’t deserve it. It’s meant to consume my time and energy and make me back down.”

“But I’m not going to let it work. Rest assured, nothing will stop me from releasing this story,” O’Keefe said.

(VIDEO) Frustration Among News Organizations Grows as Biden Hides in Basement, Refuses to Speak to Press, Has Not Held a Single News Conference This Year – New York Times Calls Biden Out in Statement

Yearly average number of news conferences held by each President – Biden’s average = 11

Leftist media outlets are finally getting a taste of what it’s like to be a conservative outlet attempting to cover Democratic politicians as feeble Joe Biden and his administration have been avoiding interviews and news conferences.

The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Reuters, CNN, and other leftwing mainstream media outlets are unable to get Biden to sit down with them, according to a statement blasting Biden for “systematically avoiding” them.

The New York Times released the following statement on Thursday:

A Statement From The New York Times on Presidential News Coverage

A spokesperson for The New York Times responds to recent reporting about a free press and reporting on the president.

For anyone who understands the role of the free press in a democracy, it should be troubling that President Biden has so actively and effectively avoided questions from independent journalists during his term. The president occupies the most important office in our nation, and the press plays a vital role in providing insights into his thinking and worldview, allowing the public to assess his record and hold him to account.

Mr. Biden has granted far fewer press conferences and sit-down interviews with independent journalists than virtually all of his predecessors. It is true that The Times has sought an on-the-record interview with Mr. Biden, as it has done with all presidents going back more than a century. If the president chooses not to sit down with The Times because he dislikes our independent coverage, that is his right, and we will continue to cover him fully and fairly either way.

However, in meetings with Vice President Harris and other administration officials, the publisher of The Times focused instead on a higher principle: That systematically avoiding interviews and questions from major news organizations doesn’t just undermine an important norm, it also establishes a dangerous precedent that future presidents can use to avoid scrutiny and accountability. That is why Mr. Sulzberger has repeatedly urged the White House to have the president sit down with The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Reuters, CNN and other major independent news organizations that millions of Americans rely on to understand their government.

This comes after a Politico report, which states the White House and The New York Times are currently engaged in a “petty feud.”

Biden’s people think they’re ‘entitled.’ The Times says ‘they’re not being realistic,’” Politico reports.

The report continues, “Biden’s closest aides had come to see the Times as arrogant, intent on setting its own rules and unwilling to give Biden his due.”

The Gateway Pundit reported on the Biden Regime’s anger with the New York Times on Thursday.

Per Fox:

New York Times publisher A.G. Sulzberger reportedly confronted Vice President Kamala Harris over Biden’s decision to avoid interviews with major newspapers.

After Sulzberger questioned Harris on why Biden had not done sit-down interviews with major newspapers, including his own, Harris told him to get in touch with the White House press office. She later “grumbled” to her aides, Politico reported, about the exchange being a waste of time.

Some on Biden’s team believe the Times has not adequately covered the importance of the 2024 election, which they view as “a matter of democracy’s survival,” according to the Politico report on the tumultuous relationship between The White House and the paper.

Biden has done fewer interviews with news outlets than any of his predecessors. He has so far refused interviews with major outlets such as the Times, The Washington Post and The Wall Street Journal. He made a recent appearance on Seth Meyers’ show and joined Jason Bateman, Will Arnett and Sean Hayes on their “SmartLess” podcast in late March.

More below from OANN White House correspondent Monica Paige:

Paige: The Biden administration’s silent war on a free and fair press appears to be coming to light. It seems other outlets and reporters are finally getting a taste of what it’s like to be ignored, silenced, and neglected just for trying to do their jobs. Here at One America News, we are no stranger to this type of treatment. One America News not only doesn’t get a seat in the briefing room but doesn’t get called on to ask questions. And emails and letters, oftentimes, go on answered or passed on and likely discarded. But now this kind of treatment is reportedly becoming contagious, bleeding into an unlikely outlet, The New York Times. In a statement this week, the New York Times expressed its growing frustration regarding President Biden’s refusal to sit down for an interview with the outlet and that the President has taken far fewer questions from the press than any one of his predecessors. “It should be troubling that President Biden has so actively and effectively avoided questions from independent journalists during his term.” The statement continues, “The President occupies the most important office in our nation, and the press plays a vital role in providing insights into his thinking and worldview, allowing the public to assess his record and hold him to account.”

This very statement summarizes exactly what the true role of a free press is: to allow the public to make informed decisions, hold leaders accountable, and hear a diversity of opinions, all free of government influence. According to the American Presidency Project, Biden, on average, holds 11 news conferences per year. By comparison, President Trump held 22, Obama held more than 20, George W. Bush held more than 25, and Bill Clinton held 24. To date, in 2024, Biden has held zero news conferences. For an administration that originally prided itself on being the most transparent for the American people, the truth for many media outlets, like ourselves, is that we have never been left with more questions than answers and left in the dark about our country.

FREEDOM OF THE PRESS?:
The New York Times called out the Biden administration for actively and effectively avoiding media questions.

Biden has held ZERO press conferences to date in 2024, leaving us all with more questions than answers.

So much for restoring ‘transparency.’ pic.twitter.com/v5MZjsaQe9

The University of Florida is making headlines for its firm stance on campus demonstrations, particularly those in support of Hamas terrorist.

Amidst a national wave of collegiate protests, the administration issued a stern reminder regarding the boundaries of free expression under the First Amendment, drawing a stark line between permissible speech and what it deems disruptive or harmful conduct.

University President Ben Sasse, already a figure of conservative acclaim following his controversial dismissal of the University’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) personnel, has once again taken a bold step that has drawn both praise and criticism.

The administration’s straightforward warning delineated the rules:

Allowable Activities

Speech
Expressing viewpoints
Holding signs in hands

Prohibitive Items and Activities

no amplified sound
no demonstrations inside buildings
No littering
No camping
No sleeping
No unmanned signs
No blocking egress
No building structures (chairs, stakes, benches, tables)
No camping, including tents, sleeping bags, pillows, etc.
No disruption
No threats
No violence
No weapons
Any other items and/or activities deemed to be non-compliant with policy and regulations by university officials
Consequences for Non-Compliance

Individuals found responsible for engaging in prohibited activities shall be trespassed from campus.

Students will receive a 3 year trespass and suspension.
Employees will be trespassed and separated from employment.

This direct approach is a departure from the tumultuous scenes observed at other prestigious institutions where pro-Hamas activities have led to significant unrest. Instead of engaging law enforcement or making mass arrests, the university opted to rely on clear communication of its regulations and the consequences of non-compliance.

The Young Democratic Socialists of America (YDSA) chapter at UF has vocally opposed the new rules. On social media, they expressed their outrage, alleging that the new regulations were “draconian” and intended to crush their “Liberation Zone.”

At another university in Florida, Florida State University, a fed-up student assisted in giving Pro-Hamas agitators a must-needed sprinkler shower.

members of Tallahassee Students for a Democratic Society set up an encampment on Landis Green to protest Israel’s justifiable actions against Hamas. Other local organizations, such as The Freedom Road Socialist Organization, the Tallahassee Community Action Committee, and the Tallahassee Dissenters, reportedly joined the protest as well.

But campus police forced them to remove their tents, which were set up for only five minutes on the grassy space predawn due to a university rule that bars camping on university lands, according to the Tallahassee Democrat.

“As an educational institution, Florida State University welcomes free inquiry, diverse thought, and rigorous debate,” FSU spokesperson Amy Farnum-Patronis told the outlet. “However, these expressions must comply with university regulation and the law.”

During the protest, the sprinklers unexpectedly turned on while the students protested, leaving them soaking wet. The agitators claimed the university deliberately set them off to discourage their protest.
