Black Community Organizers Sue North Carolina County — Claim Confederate Monument Violates 14th Amendment

A black community organizing group has filed a lawsuit against their North Carolina county, claiming that a Confederate monument is violating the 14th Amendment.

Concerned Citizens of Tyrrell County claimed in the lawsuit that the Tyrrell County Confederate Memorial violates the equal protection clause because of its “racist” language thanking “faithful slaves.”The

“Tyrrell County’s monument communicates, on behalf of local government, the idea that Black people who were enslaved in Tyrrell County preferred their slavery to freedom,” the lawsuit states, adding that it pushes “the idea that Tyrrell’s institutions regard Black people’s rightful place as one of subservience and obedience.”

The 20-foot-tall monument sits outside the Tyrrell County Courthouse, one of the oldest operating courthouses in North Carolina.

The community organizers have been protesting against the monument for years, though they have received pushback from many local residents.

The lawsuit seeks the judge to force the county to remove the monument, “pre-judgment and post-judgment interest and recovery of costs, as well as reasonable attorneys’ fees,” and “any other and further relief the Court deems equitable and just.”

The Hill reports, “The suit comes up against a 2015 North Carolina law that was intended to prevent local government from removing Confederate monuments, though the plaintiffs claim the law only applies to monuments owned by the state government, and not counties.”

“More than a dozen Confederate monuments have been taken down by local governments within the last five years, the suit claims. Others were also taken down by force, including one toppled by protesters at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2018.”

Trump roasted the dissenting members of the Libertarian Party during their convention after they booed him.

The anti-Trumpers and RFK supporters at the Libertarian National Convention who booed President Trump and later nominated a far-left authoritarian were caught on video trying to remove pro-Trump DC Young Republican attendees from their convention so they could disrupt President Trump’s speech.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, President Trump spoke to a mixed crowd at the Libertarian National Convention 2024 on Saturday, marking the first time in history a President has addressed the convention.

WATCH:

Trump went into the lion’s den of Washington DC and delivered a phenomenal speech to a not-so-friendly crowd.

According to Politico, “As delegates gathered at the Washington Hilton on the eve of his speech, the party’s decision to host the former president, which had split the organization, erupted Friday into open revolt. Fuming delegates at the convention said they plan to protest Trump’s speech, and one group sought unsuccessfully to remove the former president along with Robert F. Kennedy Jr., from the agenda — a move that resulted in thrown punches and obscenities between supporters and opponents of the move.”

RFK, in a speech on Friday, reportedly told the Libertarians that “Neither President Trump nor President Biden have held the Constitution seriously when it really mattered” and attacked Trump over the COVID-19 lockdowns that Trump didn’t support.

The hostile pro-RFK wing of the Libertarian National Convention decided to make their presence known by shouting vulgarities throughout the convention and attempting to silence pro-Trump voices in the crowd.

Over 200 patriots from the MAGA DC Young Republicans (DCYRs) were in attendance to see President Trump speak in Washington, DC, and some were harassed by angry anti-Trump Libertarians attempting to remove them.

DC Young Republicans National Committeewoman Kingsley Wilson told The Gateway Pundit that when members of the DCYRs arrived at the convention, there were “tons of open seats” that were not reserved and had no signs to indicate they were reserved. Attendees were told that seats in the front would be reserved for Libertarian Delegates, but seats in the back were free to take. However, after two hours of sitting and waiting, “we were told, you know, to get out of those seats,” said Wilson. “A lot of our folks that were sitting in the middle to back sections were told they could sit there as well, and then, subsequently, told they couldn’t. So lots of mixed messaging, very disorganized, but you know, we kind of just pulled a Rosa Parks and kept our seats. We were there to see President Trump and support him.”

It would appear that those who wanted to disrupt the president’s historic speech with boos and noise-making devices did not want to compete with cheers and applause from a large crowd of Trump supporters.

“When we got there, lots of anti-Trump folks (mostly RFK supporters) were passing out kazoos and squeaky chickens while folks waited in the security line and said they were going to use them to disrupt the president’s speech,” said Wilson.

DC Young Republicans shared the following clip from Saturday night on X, commenting, “Regime Libertarians try to get security to kick DCYRs out of seats at the Libertarian Convention”:

They later followed up by trolling the libs at the Libertarian Convention with the “I’m not f*cking leaving” clip from the Wolf of Wall Street film:

Wilson pointed out the hypocrisy on X, saying, “So much for the Marketplace of Ideas.”

The rabid Never-Trumpers who tried to kick DCYRs out of the convention also booed Utah GOP Senator Mike Lee off of the stage as he closed his speech encouraging attendees to vote for Donald Trump:

“There was obviously a lot of anti-Trump agitators in the crowd, and those folks were perhaps most aggressively telling us to get out of the seats,” said Wilson. “A lot of the people that were trying to block our view and obstruct us were people who had anti-Trump signs that were like ‘screw Trump’”

“We were very proud to be there and stand with [Trump], but definitely a lot of hostility from the Libertarian Convention, especially the organizers and various agitators throughout the crowd,” Wilson added, noting that “It was cool to see Trump go into a hostile environment like that, and really make his case to the Libertarian Party and say basically, ‘come with me and win or keep getting 3%.’”

Wilson also noted that the DC Young Republicans “deal with this kind of hostility on a daily basis, so we’re accustomed to it, and we’re happy to stand with President Trump because he does the same thing.”

Despite RFK Jr. and his supporters’ attempts to sabotage Trump at the convention, it was still a success for the president.

President Trump seemingly won over the crowd of libertarians when he promised the Libertarian Party that he would include a Libertarian in his cabinet and would place Libertarians in his administration. He was also met with thunderous applause and cheers when he announced that he would commute the sentence of Silk Road creator Ross Ulbricht on day one.

Wilson told The Gateway Pundit that in the end, it was “half and half,” with many Libertarians being “very open to Voting for President Trump,” especially after vowing to commute Ulbricht’s sentence. “But there were certainly some, I would say, in my conversations that just had severe TDS, just totally deranged, and had no interest in supporting President Trump really no matter the concessions or promises or olive branches that he extended to them,” Wilson added.

The Gateway Pundit reported that RFK was booted from the Libertarian Party’s nomination process during Sunday’s first round of voting after receiving just 19 votes, which represents about two percent. Instead, the Libertarian Party nominated Chase Oliver, a woke 38-year-old openly gay former Democrat, who supports the Marxist terror group Black Lives Matter, medical mandates, drag queen story hours, open borders, and Big Tech censorship.

As President Trump told the crowd, “Keep getting your 3% every four years.”

Libertarian Party Chair Appears to Insinuate Support for Trump as Party Faces Backlash Over Nomination of a Radical Leftist

The Libertarian Party is facing internal conflict and public scrutiny after the recent selection of a controversial nominee for the upcoming election, with tensions escalating as the Party Chair appears to be insinuating support for Trump.

The Libertarian Party’s presidential nominee, Chase Oliver, is a far-left radical whose views are completely out of step with the party’s principles.

Oliver, a former Democrat who once supported Barack Obama, has called for an end to the “U.S. war machine” and the “genocide in Gaza.” He also supports the Marxist terror group Black Lives Matter, drag queen story hours, open borders, and Big Tech censorship.

Critics have lambasted Oliver as being too progressive for the Libertarian ticket, pointing to his past support for movements and policies such as Black Lives Matter, drag queen story hours, and stringent Big Tech censorship.

Furthermore, his endorsement of controversial policies like open borders and mandatory vaccinations and masks solidifies his stance far from traditional libertarian values.

Oliver’s nomination has caused a major backlash within the Libertarian Party, with many members threatening to vote for Donald Trump instead.

Caryn Anne Harlos, the National Secretary for the Libertarian Party, has taken a hard stance against party members threatening to defect to Trump.

“If you are now alleging voting for Trump because you don’t like Oliver, you were not in the Party for thick and thin. And that’s fine but that’s not how third party movements survive. I am sticking around to carry on our legacy. I’m a Party person and never ever hid that. I remain so,” Harlos said.

However, the most dramatic development comes from Angela McArdle, the Libertarian Party Chair, who appears to be opening the door for an alignment with former President Donald Trump amidst the growing internal backlash.

In a recent statement, McArdle hinted at possible strategic collaborations with Trump.

“Everyone is understandably flipping out right now. I will have more to say this weekend,” said McArdle.

“For now, I will say that I delivered an incredible convention, with the help of my amazing staff and volunteers. All of my critics were WRONG. I made the right call to invite Donald Trump and if libertarians can behave themselves, he will free Ross Ulbricht and put one of us in his cabinet. Ball’s in your court, libertarians. We are getting in that administration,” she said.

On Saturday, President Donald Trump delivered a fiery speech that courted the Libertarian audience.

Despite his efforts to unify, not all attendees were swayed by Trump’s presence or proposals. A vocal segment of the crowd expressed their disapproval through boos and unruly behavior.

The president has had enough and said what needed to be said to the Libertarian Party.

“The Libertarian Party should nominate Trump for the President of the United States,” Trump announced, adding, “Only if you want to win. Maybe you don’t want to win,” he said. “Keep getting your 3% every four years.”

Hollywood star Dennis Quaid has announced his support for Donald Trump in the upcoming presidential election.

Quaid, who is starring in the upcoming Reagan biopic, made the announcement during an interview with Piers Morgan.

Quaid, navigating the discussion about his role as Reagan and their common background in acting, did not hesitate when asked about his political leanings for 2024.

“I think I’m going to vote for him,” Quaid announced, signaling his support for Trump. The response came as a surprise to Morgan, who probed further about the potential backlash.

Quaid said that he was initially hesitant to vote for Trump but that he changed his mind after seeing the “weaponization of our justice system” and the “challenge to our Constitution.”

“I was ready not to vote for Trump until what I saw is more than politics,” Quaid said. “I see a weaponization of our justice system and a challenge to our Constitution… Us as Americans that I don’t think we’re going to have.”

Quaid’s stance is rooted in his belief that the persistent investigations into Trump have failed to yield significant results, which to him, underscores a misuse of judicial power.

“Trump is the most investigated person, probably in the history of the world, and they haven’t been able to really get him,” he said.

Despite anticipating criticism, Quaid remains staunch in his position. “People might call him an asshole, but he’s my asshole,” he said.

WATCH:

Last week, Quaid appeared on “Jesse Watters Primetime” after Trump’s significant rally in the South Bronx on Thursday, which drew thousands of supporters for the 2024 presidential candidate.,

“I really admire Trump for going into the neighborhoods,” Quaid told Watters. “People connect with that; they truly do. If anything, all these events that have been conspiring against him have actually made him appear more relatable to the public.”

“Donald Trump has been talking about cleaning house, which, you know, kind of making a clean sweep to start over. That doesn’t mean being a dictator. That just means that we started doing what the American people have asked us to do,” Quaid added.

The only outcome we can expect from all these relentless witch hunts against Trump is that more people will be driven to vote for him.

DRONES EVERYWHERE: NATO European Nations Plan To Build a ‘Drone Wall’ Against Russia – US State of Colorado To Use UAVs as Police First Responders

DRONES EVERYWHERE: NATO European Nations Plan To Build a ‘Drone Wall’ Against Russia – US State of Colorado To Use UAVs as Police First Responders

It’s a drone world.

All over the world, law-enforcement agencies and military forces are going all-in towards these unmanned flying vehicles that have become the standard equipment to survey and even attack foes and invaders.

From the forests of Eastern Europe to the American Western Mountains of Colorado, all we hear about is d-r-o-n-e-s.

Drones everywhere.

In Europe’s battlefields, drones have long become the ‘ace in the sleeve’ for combatants – from small FPV quadcopters to big deadly craft like the American Predator, Russian Lancet, Iranian Shahed or Turkish Bayraktar drones.

Ukrainian surveillance drone tracks advancing Russian infantry.

Now, as the war in Ukraine progresses, six NATO nations have agreed to build a ‘drone wall’ along their borders to defend themselves against what they see as Russian threats.

Telegraph reported:

“Norway, Poland and Finland will work with the three Baltic states – Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania – to prevent Russian aggression, including forcing migrants across the border.

‘This is a completely new thing. A drone border from Norway to Poland’, Agne Bilotaite, Lithuania’s interior minister, told broadcaster Baltic News Service. ‘This will allow us to protect ourselves from provocations by unfriendly countries’.”

Turkish Bayraktar drone.

These EU countries on the Russian border have become increasingly nervous that an emboldened President Vladimir Putin will turn to them once the war in Ukraine is over.

“In anticipation, Poland has spent billions upgrading its border defenses with Belarus, Estonia has built a network of frontier army bunkers and Finland, which shares an 830-mile border with Russia, has joined Nato.

Last year, Finland was forced to close its border crossings with Russia after the Kremlin flew in migrants from Asia and sent them over the border on bicycles. Finnish officials said Moscow was weaponizing migration to destabilize Europe.”

Russian Geran (Geranium) is based on the Iranian Shahed.

The ‘drone wall’ is still being planned and negotiated, and the deal signed over the weekend is just part of a wider approach to countering ‘the threat from Russia’.

“’We agreed to hold regional drills to ensure the evacuation of the population, to see how our institutions are prepared to work and to interact with each other’, [Lithuanian Minister Bilotaite] said.”

Since the start of the war, Russia has strengthened its military units along the border with EU countries, going as far as to move nuclear missiles to Belarus.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the world, local law enforcement agencies in Colorado, including the Denver Police Department (DPD), ‘are making plans to start dispatching drones instead of officers to respond to 911 calls’.

Fox News reported:

“‘This really is the future of law enforcement at some point, whether we like it or not’, Sgt. Jeremiah Gates, who leads the drone unit at the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office, told The Denver Post.

At least 20 agencies in Colorado’s Front Range already use drone technology for certain tasks, like searching for missing people, tracking fleeing suspects, mapping crime scenes or overhead surveillance during SWAT operations. Now the sheriff’s office is considering using them to respond to some 911 calls in situations where the drones might be able to provide useful information from the location of an incident before officers are deployed.”

It would also help to weed out calls that do not need police intervention.

“‘I could fly the drone over (a reported suspicious vehicle) and say, ‘Hey, that vehicle is not out of place,’ and I never had to send an officer over to bother them and I can clear it with that’, Gates told The Denver Post. ‘It’s saving resources’.”

American ‘Reaper’ drone.

Of course, you bet there’ll be legal problems with this approach. The Denver Police Depertment shelved its only drone in 2018, citing constitutional concerns.

But now is planning to to expand its drone program using a $100,000 grant from the Denver Police Foundation.

“‘The long-term scope of what we are trying to do is drones as first responders’, Phil Gonshak, director of the department’s Strategic Initiatives Bureau told The Denver Post. ‘Basically, having stations on top of each one of our districts so we can respond with drones to critical needs or emergencies that arise throughout the city’.

‘We would never simply replace calls-for-service response by police officers’, he continued. ‘The DPD would respond to any call for service where someone is physically requesting a police officer on scene. But if there was a fight at Colfax and Cherokee and we put a drone in the air and there is no fight and nothing causing traffic issues, then we would reroute our police officers to other emergent calls’.”
