About 30 minutes later Joe Biden endorsed Kamala Harris.

According to Politico, Biden’s campaign staffers were actively whipping up delegate support as Joe Biden announced he is dropping out of the race.
‘None of us understand what’s happening,” a staffer told Politico. “We’re all finding out by tweet.”
President Joe Biden’s state campaign aides were telephoning delegates ahead of next month’s Democratic convention at the very moment he announced his withdrawal from the race Sunday afternoon.
“It was a nationwide push to shore up delegates for the roll call,” said a Biden state official, whose fellow staffers were conducting the outreach. In the weeks since his disastrous debate, Biden aides have been working to keep delegates to the Chicago convention in line.
In another sign of how the president’s decision stunned even his own staff, his Delaware-based campaign leadership concluded a staff call with state aides just minutes before Biden released his letter withdrawing from the race.

If Trump beats Biden in Virginia in November, it is over for Biden. A Republican has not carried Virginia in a presidential race since 2004.
A Trump win here would be indicative of a landslide election.

New polling shows former President Donald Trump is beating President Joe Biden in Virginia.
The latest Emerson College poll, sponsored by WRIC’s parent company Nexstar, found that 45% of registered voters in Virginia are backing Trump, with Biden garnering 43% of the vote.
“The real question is, is any of this getting to Biden? Do the people around him tell him?” said Larry Sabato, Director of the University of Virginia’s Center for Politics. “He is in deep, deep, deep, trouble.”
Sabato said the poll should serve as a warning sign to the Biden campaign. Biden beat Trump by ten points in Virginia on his way to winning the White House in 2020.
“Biden is running 12 points below his showing in 2020,” Sabato said. “That’s terrible. I mean, it’s really awful. He is an incumbent president.”

The senator’s post comes as Biden faces mounting pressure to back out of the presidential race, with about two-thirds of Democrats surveyed in a Wednesday Associated Press/NORC poll saying he should drop out.
Calls for Biden to give up on his reelection campaign have even come from people on his team, with several of his “closest allies” telling NBC News that he has no chance of winning.

Jennings is a right leaning figure and often clashes with the rest of the panel, no matter who is on it. He also has a very funny way of doing it.
This weekend, Jennings called out the Democrats for trying to organize a ‘coup’ to oust Biden after calling themselves the party of democracy, and he is absolutely right.

CNN commentator Scott Jennings said during a Friday segment that he was starting to feel like he needed to “take up for” President Joe Biden as the wolves within his own party circle and call for his ouster.
Jennings, a Republican, made the comments during a panel discussion — hosted by Abby Phillip and including former CNN host Brian Stelter — about the disarray within the Democratic Party as multiple prominent Democrats come forward and say they don’t have confidence that Biden can beat former President Donald Trump or that he has the cognitive abilities to serve another four-year term as president.
“I feel like I need to take up for the president here,” Jennings said, prompting laughs from the panel. “Because he won millions and millions of votes to earn the Democratic nomination, and I find it delicious that the ‘party of democracy’ is no organizing a coup against the sitting President of the United States. It’s crazy!”
