Thousands of dragonflies swarmed the unsuspecting beachgoers at Misquamicut Beach in Westerly, Rhode Island over the weekend.

This bizarre and terrifying event was caught on video and has left locals and visitors alike in shock.

On Saturday, visitors to the popular Rhode Island beach were caught off guard as a swarm of dragonflies suddenly appeared, seemingly emerging from the ocean.

Nicole Taylor, a beachgoer who captured the chaos on video, recounted her experience to Channel 3.

“One minute everything was calm. The next minute I saw the most dragonflies I’ve ever seen in my life. It lasted for like three minutes, and then they were gone. It was a very strange experience,” she said.

Paula Bellavance, who was celebrating her 50th birthday at the beach, shared her bewilderment to Eyewitness News.

“It was weird. It was like there was a couple, and then there was more and then it was just like they were coming from the ocean and we’re just trying to process wow what is going on and you look up and there’s thousands in the air and all around you,” said Bellavance.

Joanne Vandal of Enfield was also on the beach during the swarm. “It was like a black cloud and what started as a couple hundred, was thousands and thousands of them,” she said.

“The little kids were terrified. They were screaming. They had no idea what was going on. I guess it was scary — everyone else just took out their phones and was like ‘what was going on?’ because it was so unnatural,” she said.

“There was no sound. There was no hum and it’s interesting because I mentioned that to my friend, there was no buzz, there was no hum, there was no sound, it just happened,” she added.

Stephanie Martin, another beachgoer who shared her experience with NewsCenter 5, called it a “dragonfly apocalypse.”

“I was enjoying a nice day at Misquamicut State Beach until we endured a dragonfly apocalypse,” said Martin.

“We kind of looked to the left and there’s this black cloud and they were swarming from over the ocean and then right before you know it they were in front of you, beside you, they were just everywhere,” said Martin.

“And they would, like, hit you. They didn’t know where they were going. But they weren’t aggressive or anything like that.”

“It kind of felt like an eternity, but I would say it probably lasted between 2 and 4 minutes and then once they were gone, they didn’t come back for the rest of the day,” said Martin.

Experts weighed in on this bizarre phenomenon, attributing it to environmental factors rather than any supernatural occurrence.

Gale Ridge, an Associate Scientist at Connecticut’s Agricultural Experiment Station, told Eyewitness News that these dragonflies are likely green donna dragonflies migrating from Canada, possibly pushed ashore by strong winds.

GOP Congressman Cory Mills on Monday said he will be conducting a “parallel independent investigation” into the attempted assassination against President Trump after Speaker Johnson assembled a disappointing task force to probe the Butler shooting.

The Florida lawmaker and former sniper said expressed his disappointment in Johnson’s Trump Assassination Attempt Task Force.

Notably missing from the task force are two veterans who happened to be snipers: Eli Crane and Cory Mills.

“It’s very unfortunate but not surprising for anyone familiar with how DC works. I’m not a politician, leadership, or a ‘yes man,’” Mills said in a statement on X on Monday.

“I wish the members of Speaker Johnson’s Task Force well, and think it’s time for a parallel independent investigation with subject matter experts (SME) and the whistleblowers who’ve already come forward that myself and Rep. Eli Crane and Benny Johnson have spoken with,” Mills said. “I will be speaking with other members, and although I won’t have subpoena powers, I will personally fund whatever is required for additional staff to further investigation and expose the truth.”

Cory Mills believes the assassination attempt on Trump on July 13 could have been a setup.

This is probably why Speaker Johnson did not choose Mills to be a part of the task force. He believes the Secret Service was in on the hit job.

Virtually no one believes 20-year-old Thomas Crooks acted alone.

According to the official narrative, Crooks did the following all by himself without an insider’s help:

• Flew a drone over the Pennsylvania fairgrounds and got aerial footage of the rally layout on the day of the event – including 2 hours before Trump took the stage.
• Got a range finder through security.
• Evaded law enforcement officers from several different state, local and federal agencies.
• Somehow ‘climbed’ up on a roof with his rifle 450 feet away from Trump, bear crawled to the perfect vantage point as bystanders alerted police and was still able to take 8 shots at Trump.
• Parked a vehicle full of explosives near the Trump rally
• Crooks was able to walk around the premises after Snipers took a photo of him looking suspicious.
• A sniper located in the second story window was only 40 feet away from Crooks and didn’t neutralize him.
• Trump was still able to take the stage after Crooks was pegged as suspicious by Secret Service.

Arizona Democrat Sen. Mark Kelly faced increased scrutiny following news that he may become the Vice President nominee on the 2024 presidential election Democratic ticket.

Kelly found himself on the top of a shortlist of Vice President Kamala Harris’s potential running mates, above names such as Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, The Hill reported.

The increased scrutiny has raised questions about Kelly’s dealings with China.

As reported by Fox News, Kelly co-founded World View, a company that originally aimed to provide customers with space tourism using balloons.

One of the company’s earliest founders was Tencent, notoriously one of the largest companies in communist China, which the Chinese government therefore controls.

Perhaps most famously, the company runs the Chinese social media app WeChat, which serves as a “powerful surveillance tool for the Chinese government” that collects users’ personal information, search history, messages and so on, as reported by Fox News.

Over the years, what once started as a mere tourism company expanded its offerings.

World View balloons now provide clients with surveillance and “remote sensing services.”

Those clients have included companies dealing in lucrative industries like oil and gas, utilities, mining, shipping and insurance, to name a few.

As World View’s technology and business plan advanced, however, it began to grow a relationship with China.

Kelly held a meeting with the head of Tencent USA David Wallerstein in 2014. Accoridng to reports, Kelly introduced Wallerstein to World View’s “space tourism technology.”

The Arizona senator later downplayed the meeting as a short conversation.

When Kelly chose to run for senate, he gave up all company control. However, the senator remains invested in World View through a blind trust.

Notably, China famously sent surveillance balloons over the U.S. in 2023, generating great controversy.

The Department of Defense later revealed the same sorts of Chinese surveillance balloons were sent to many other countries as well.

“We were able to determine that China has a high-altitude balloon program for intelligence collection that’s connected to the People’s Liberation Army. It was operating during the previous administration, but they did not detect it. We detected it. We tracked it. And, we have been carefully studying it to learn as much as we can,” said John Kirby, the coordinator for strategic communication at the White House National Security Council.

“We know that these [Chinese] surveillance balloons have crossed over dozens of countries on multiple continents around the world, including some of our closest allies and partners.”

Chavez, who led the country from 1998 until his death from cancer in 2013, implemented the socialistic Bolivarian Revolution that won plaudits from Democrats and leftists around the world.

While Chavez’s socialist reforms initially led to a reduction in poverty on account of the global oil boom, they eventually left the country bankrupt.

Under his leadership, Chavez also built a cult of personality that has since been exacerbated by his death. Statues, murals and tributes to his life remain stationed across the country.

By the time of his death, Venezuela had become the poorest and most dangerous country in Latin America, having previously been the richest and one of the safest.

As a result, millions of Venezuelans have fled the country in search of opportunities elsewhere, with many traveling as far as the U.S. to take advantage of Biden’s open border.

Venezuela is now run by Chavez’s handpicked successor, Nicolas Maduro, who has successfully rigged three presidential elections on the bounce.

While the Biden regime is publicly condemning the Maduro regime’s actions in Venezuela, Democrats will inevitably be taking notes on things they can learn on how to destroy a thriving democracy.
