Here is more proof that the The New York Times should never, ever be trusted again.

In March the Times opined that Joe Biden is not really suffering dementia but instead he is acting more like the masters Beethoven, Wagner and Martin Scorsese.

They were really pouring it on thick. That previous Op-ed blew up in their face last Thursday night on CNN.

Joe Rogan mocked their gaslighting on Independence Day which is fitting. Today is a great day to declare your independence from the gaslighting of the legacy media that lies to the American public like it’s their job.

Joe Rogan responded, “Oh, OK. I feel better now.

Here is what The New York Times was pushing back in March:

The literary critic Edward W. Said, who wrote the book “On Late Style,” suggested that late work like this “has the power to render disenchantment and pleasure without resolving the contradiction between them.” Clint Eastwood’s recent films (notably “The 15:17 to Paris,” “The Mule” and “Cry Macho”), at once the corniest and the most avant-garde movies in his canon, fit this description. So do Philip Roth’s bitter, incandescent final books (“Exit Ghost,” “Indignation” and “Nemesis,”), which distill the prodigious inventiveness of his great middle-period novels into austere, jagged, sometimes bluntly funny meditations on sex, death and disgrace.

What does any of this have to do with Joe Biden? Politics is not art. But it is a craft, a vocation, and not many people have practiced it as long or as devotedly as Biden. In a profile this month in The New Yorker, Evan Osnos notes that “for decades, there was a lightness about Joe Biden — a springy, mischievous energy” that is no longer in evidence. “For better and worse,” Osnos writes, “he is a more solemn figure now.”

The word “figure” is well chosen; the Biden the public thinks it knows has always been, like every other politician on the national stage, a construct, a character, a persona. That “lightness” — as well as the tendencies toward verbosity, sentimentality and handsiness that were part of Biden’s brand as senator and vice president — was a matter of style. Which isn’t to say it was inauthentic. Quite the opposite; a politician’s style, like a writer’s or an actor’s, expresses a true self as it is filtered through the discipline of performance.
Trump’s style hasn’t changed. He is manifestly the same figure he has been at least since he entered electoral politics in 2015. That may be one reason that his age seems less relevant to voters.

But Biden, during his term in office and especially in the early stages of what will be his last campaign, seems different. In Osnos’s account, the “mercurial mix of confidence and insecurity” that defined his earlier persona has given way to a “confidence that borders on serenity.”

It’s not a complete break with the past. The nine-minute journey from the door of the House chamber to the podium on Thursday night, during which the president schmoozed, kissed, mugged and took selfies, was what you might call vintage Biden, as was the self-deprecating joke that kicked off the speech…

…Biden, in his early, unsuccessful presidential campaigns, attempted to articulate a version of that story, conjuring folksy images of middle-class, midcentury Americans and vague, rosy visions of an America whose best days were yet to come. He wasn’t especially convincing.

When he revisits those tropes now it is with a sense of their fragility. He uses them to frame the argument that American liberal democracy finds itself in mortal danger. The sturdy old rhetoric of striving families and the long struggle for justice is itself imperiled, and is part of what late Biden is trying to rescue. If this election is about the survival of democracy, he has cast himself not as its savior but — for the last time — as its most plausible representative.

Former President Donald Trump issued a challenge to Joe Biden via Truth Social on July 4th.

Trump proposes a one-on-one, no-holds-barred debate to discuss the future of America. The former president’s call for this unconventional debate format promises a direct, unfiltered discussion on key issues affecting the nation.

“I have the answer to the Crooked Joe Biden Incompetence Puzzle — Let’s do another Debate,” wrote Trump. He envisions an all-out discussion with just him and Biden on stage.

“An all on discussion, with just the two of us on stage, talking about the future of our Country. The ratings were massive for the First Debate, record setting, in fact, but this one, because of the format, would blow everything away!” he said.

The first debate was a testament to the biased media, with CNN clearly tilting things in favor of Joe Biden.

The debate format, with its mic muting and strategically placed commercial breaks, blatantly controlled the narrative to favor Biden.

Trump’s challenge includes asking Biden to explain his stance on several controversial policies.

“Let Joe explain why he wants Open Borders, with millions of people, and many violent criminals from parts unknown, pouring into our once great Nation, or why he wants Men Playing in Women’s Sports, or demand ALL ELECTRIC VEHICLES within five years, or why he allowed INFLATION TO RUN RAMPANT, destroying the people of our Country, and so much more,” Trump said.

also suggests that this debate would serve as a test of President Biden’s competence under pressure. “It would also, under great pressure, prove his ‘competence,’ or lack thereof,” wrote Trump.

Trump concluded his challenge with a call-to-arms: “What a great evening it would be, just the two of us, one on one, in a good, old fashioned Debate, the way they used to be. ANYTIME, ANYWHERE, ANYPLACE!!!”

Despite growing calls from left-wing politicians, commentators, and activists for Joe Biden to step down in favor of a candidate not rumored to be suffering from a form of dementia, Biden remains resolute in his decision to stay in the race.

Biden, who is currently the oldest sitting U.S. president at 81, will return to the debate stage in September.

The second presidential debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, September 10, 2024. ABC News will be hosting the second debate between President Biden and former President Trump.

The format of the debate remains unclear, and it is still uncertain whether Joe Biden will be the nominee.

Declaration of Independence signer John Adams predicted, with astounding accuracy, how the people of the United States would celebrate their liberty in the generations to come.

But he did get the date the celebration would occur wrong.

By the summer of 1776, anticipation had been growing for months that the 13 colonies would declare their independence.

The “shot heard around the world” had been fired at the village green in Lexington, Massachusetts, on April 19, 1775, marking the beginning of the war with Great Britain. Other fighting followed thereafter.

Then in January 1776, Thomas Paine wrote his wildly successful “Common Sense,” forcefully making the case for independence.

In March of that year, Abigail Adams wrote from Massachusetts to her husband John Adams, a delegate to the Continental Congress in Philadelphia, “I long to hear that you have declared an independency.”

Adams served on the five-person drafting committee for the Declaration that included Thomas Jefferson of Virginia, Benjamin Franklin of Pennsylvania, Robert Livingston of New Jersey and Roger Sherman of Connecticut.

In mid-June 1776, they were tasked with writing a statement that would justify to the world the colonies’ decision to become a separate nation.

On July 1, the Continental Congress reconvened to take up the issue of independence.

The following day, July 2, the Congress considered a resolution offered by Richard Henry Lee of Virginia.

“That these United Colonies are, and of right ought to be, free and independent States, that they are absolved from all allegiance to the British Crown, and that all political connection between them and the State of Great Britain is, and ought to be, totally dissolved,” the document read.

The Congress voted to sever ties with the mother country.

“The Second Day of July 1776, will be the most memorable Epocha, in the History of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated, by succeeding Generations, as the great anniversary Festival,” Adams wrote Abigail on July 3.

“It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more,” he added.

And that’s exactly what has happened. It’s interesting that his wording suggests that Adams foresaw the United States eventually crossing the whole North American continent.

What Adams did not anticipate is that July 4, 1776, is the date Americans would grab on to, the day the Declaration was adopted.

The date appears prominently right at the top of the document.

Certainly by the 50th anniversary of the United States, Adams was well aware that July 4 was the date of celebration.

On July 4th, 1826, both he and Jefferson were still alive, but in failing health.

Adams wrote the organizer of the Washington, D.C. Jubilee commemoration thanking him for the invitation to be part of the event but lamenting “my health forbids me to indulge the hope of participating only with my best wishes for the increasing prosperity of your City.”

Jefferson also sent his regrets that he could not attend.

“I should, indeed, with peculiar delight, have met and exchanged there congratulations personally with the small band, the remnant of that host of worthies, who joined with us on that day, in the bold and doubtful election we were to make for our country, between submission or the sword; and to have enjoyed with them the consolatory fact, that our fellow citizens, after half a century of experience and prosperity, continue to approve the choice we made,” he penned.

Then in the ultimate coup de grâce, both Adams and Jefferson died on the very day of the 50th anniversary celebration of the adoption of the Declaration.

The great orator and Massachusetts statesman Daniel Webster observed in a eulogy for Jefferson and Adams, “Poetry itself has hardly terminated illustrious lives, and finished the career of earthly renown, by such a consummation. If we had the power, we could not wish to reverse this dispensation of the Divine Providence.”

“It cannot but seem striking and extraordinary that these two should live to see the fiftieth year from the date of that act; that they should complete that year; and that then, on the day which had fast linked forever their own fame with their country’s glory, the heavens should open to receive them both at once,” Webster added.

So in death, Adams had affirmed that July 4, not July 2, was the date American independence should be remembered and lauded.

Former first lady Michelle Obama polled the best among potential Democratic presidential candidates against former President Donald Trump should President Joe Biden choose to step aside.

There have been increasing calls for Biden to not seek a second term following his dismal debate performance against Trump last week.

This prompted Reuters/Ipsos to conduct a survey and see how potential replacements would fare against the presumptive Republican nominee, as well as where Biden stands now in the race.

According to the polling group, Obama would defeat Trump 50 to 39 percent, but the 45th president would best all other likely Biden replacements.

He would win over Vice President Kamala Harris 43 to 42 percent, California Gov. Gavin Newsom 42 to 39 percent, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Witmer 41 to 36 percent, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear 40 to 36 percent, and Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker 40 to 34 percent.

Finally, according to the pollsters, Biden would tie Trump, with each garnering 40 percent of the vote.

Ipsos noted this was slight decline for Biden who was ahead 41 to 39 percent over his Republican rival in May.

The 40-40 tie in the polling may indicate that the survey sample skews left because Trump has been ahead of Biden in the Real Clear Polling average for months.

Further, a New York Times/Siena College survey conducted post debate has Trump ahead 49 to 41 percent, nationally among registered voters.

A Wall Street Journal poll published Wednesday also finds Trump with 6 percentage point lead 48 to 42 percent among registered voters, with 80 percent saying Biden, at 81, is too old to be running for a second term.

The Reuters/Ipsos poll was conducted using 1,070 U.S. residents, including 892 registered voters, which may also explain why it shows a tighter race.

Obama has stated in the past that she has no interest in running for president.

“As former first lady Michelle Obama has expressed several times over the years, she will not be running for president,” communication’s director Crystal Carson told NBC News in March.

“Mrs. Obama supports President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’ re-election campaign,” she added.

But have circumstances changed enough post debate to cause Obama to reconsider her choice?

In January, she was alarmed that Trump could win a second term.

“What’s going to happen in this next election? I am terrified about what could possibly happen because our leaders matter,” she said.

As first lady, and certainly a former first lady, she has been able to stay largely above the political fray.

Once Obama entered the race and began taking positions on issues that impact people’s lives, she would likely lose some support.

She has often stated that she hates politics, and one gets the sense that she really does not want to be president.

A hypothetical worth considering is Obama agrees to be at the top of the ticket and then runs with Harris, Newsom, Beshear or one of the others, who want to be president. They ride Obama’s popularity into the White House.

She serves a short time and then steps down for whatever reason: health, family, needs of the hour …

Obama would lose some standing among the American people for not seeing the job through, but Democrats would feel like she did them a solid by defeating Trump.

Is it a likely scenario? Probably not, but it’s possible.

The great Winston Churchill once famously said thatIf the human race wishes to have a prolonged and indefinite period of material prosperity, they have only got to behave in a peaceful and helpful way toward one another’.

Seems like a thousand years ago that the finest political minds of our planet were interested in de-escalation, peace and prosperity for all.

As Mother Teresa rightfully described, ‘Peace begins with a smile’. And the bearer of this first smile in no other than conservative champion, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.

Oráan is expected to travel to Moscow tomorrow (5) to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

This visit comes days after his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kiev.

Radio Free Europe reported:

“Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto will also accompany Orban to the Kremlin, the government source said on July 4. Szijjarto has visited Russia more than five times since Moscow invaded Ukraine more than two years ago.”

This development comes mere days after Hungary took over the rotating presidency of the European Union.

The Globalists in Brussels are furious. Outgoing president of the European Council, Charles Michel posted on X that “the EU rotating presidency has no mandate to engage with Russia on behalf of the EU.”

Orbán faced enormous pression but did not severe his ties to Russia.

“Last month, Putin said Russia would end its war — which is believed to have killed and wounded at least 500,000 soldiers on both sides — only if Kiev met certain conditions.

Those included renouncing its NATO ambitions and ceding four partially occupied regions that Russia claims in their entirety, in addition to Crimea.”

In Kiev, Orbán presented Zelensky with a cease-fire proposal, asked ‘whether it was possible to take a break, to stop the firing, and then continue the negotiations’.

Ihor Zhovkva, Zelensky’s deputy chief of staff said the Ukrainian leader listened to Orbán’s proposal but stated Ukraine’s position in response.

Trump and Orbán are famounsly aligned.

Meanwhile, in Kazakhstan, at the end of the regional CSO security conference, Putin declared that he believed that the Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump ‘was sincere’ about wanting to end the war in Ukraine, adding that that ‘he did not know how Trump planned to do so’ once elected.

Reuters reported:

“‘The fact that Mr Trump, as a presidential candidate, declares that he is ready and wants to stop the war in Ukraine, we take this completely seriously’, Putin said.

‘I am not, of course, familiar with possible proposals for how he plans to do this. This is the key question. But I have no doubt that he means it sincerely, and we support it (the idea of ending the war)’.”

Trump and Putin: will peace ensue?

“Two key advisers to Trump presented him with a plan to end the war that involves telling Ukraine it will only get more U.S. weapons if it enters peace talks, Reuters reported last month.

Putin said constructive dialogue between Moscow and Washington was impossible during a heated U.S. presidential election campaign and that Moscow would wait for the result and see what the new leadership does.”
