Without Shame: Former Obama/Biden Official Says the Quiet Part Out Loud in Op-Ed- ‘The First Amendment Is Out of Control’

Columbia law professor Tim Wu

Anyone paying attention already knows that the left thinks the First Amendment goes too far.  And by going too far, they mean letting conservatives share their opinions and hamstringing the government’s ability to crack down on speech they don’t like.

And they have no problem, or shame sharing, this publicly for all the world to see.

Tim Wu, a Columbia law professor who served on the National Economic Council during both the Obama and Biden administrations, wrote an op-ed for The New York Times literally titled “The First Amendment is Out of Control.”

His piece argues that  American judges have twisted the First Amendment into “an all-purpose tool of legislative nullification that now mostly protects corporate interests.”

He writes, “Monday’s Supreme Court decision in the two NetChoice cases” have added to complications with the First Amendment by viewing social media company algorithms as equivalent to “expressive decisions made by human editors at newspapers.”

To leftists like Wu, the First Amendment has outlived its usefulness and purpose because it can’t silence speech he doesn’t like. He sees 1A as a “barrier” to government action and overreach.

Isn’t that a good thing?

InfoWars reports:

It seems as if Wu is trying to place the blame of censorship on the algorithms and not the far-left employees who made the technology biased or the politicians who have been caught ordering companies to censor certain information.

One sentence in Wu’s article gets to the bottom of his real fear, which his that the overgrown U.S. bureaucracy may soon be trimmed down.

The ex-government official wrote, “The judiciary needs to realize that the First Amendment is spinning out of control. It is beginning to threaten many of the essential jobs of the state, such as protecting national security and the safety and privacy of its citizens.”

Wu continues, “Nearly any law that has to do with the movement of information can be attacked in the name of the First Amendment.”

Apparently, Wu does not like that the First Amendment places restrictions on the government and their efforts to use the power of the state to control what people can say and hear.  Because how can you control what people think and do if you don’t control access to the information they are “allowed” to hear?

The government is already out of control in its attempts to control the information the American people have access to.

Last week, in a stunning 6-3 decision, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the Biden Administration’s policy of deleting, suppressing, and deplatforming specific people, topics, and ideas is immune from suit, leaving no one able to challenge it in court.

In addition, Justice Coney Barrett let the government off the hook for the censorship regime the government created and maintained.  A regime that suppressed information on Hunter Biden’s laptop, on voter fraud in the 2020 election and information on Covid’s origins, the dangers of the Covid vaccine, the truth about treatment options, the true science behind masking, lockdowns and mandates, just to name a few.

But the First Amendment is out of control?

Wu’s piece hit a nerve.

KENYA’S FALL FROM GRACE: From US Major Non-NATO Ally to the Brink of Anarchy in DAYS
July 2, 2024

Something very strange is happening with the East African Republic of Kenya – a flurry of activity at a geopolitical level that saw is rise and fall from grace in mere days.

On June 24, things were looking up for the William Ruto Government, as the US White House issued for the Secretary of State a Memorandum on the Designation of Kenya as a Major Non-NATO Ally.

“By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, including section 517 of the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961, as amended (22 U.S.C. 2321k) (the “Act”), I hereby designate Kenya as a Major Non-NATO Ally of the United States for the purposes of the Act and the Arms Export Control Act (22 U.S.C. 2751 et seq.).

You are authorized and directed to publish this determination in the Federal Register.

JOSEPH R. BIDEN JR.”

Biden anmd Kenya’s William Ruto.

In the aftermath of the US troops being expelled from Niger, Kenya rose as the new key partner in the African continent.

But it wasn’t for free – this development came in tandem with long-held negotiations for Kenyan police troops to be sent to Haiti to help stabilize the hellish situation on the Caribbean Island.

So it’s not surprising that ON THE VERY NEXT DAY, June 25, the first U.N.-backed contingent of Kenyan police arrived in Haiti, nearly two years after it urgently requested help to contain a surge in gang violence.

ABC News reported:

“A couple hundred police officers from Kenya landed in the capital of Port-au-Prince, whose main international airport reopened in late May after gang violence forced it to close for nearly three months.

It wasn’t immediately known what the Kenyans’ first assignment would be, but they will face violent gangs that control 80% of Haiti’s capital and have left more than 580,000 people homeless across the country as they pillage neighborhoods in their quest to control more territory. Gangs also have killed several thousand people in recent years.”

Kenyan police arrives in Haiti.

The Kenyans’ arrival marks the fourth major foreign military intervention in Haiti.

Unelected Haitian Prime Minister Garry Conille thanked Kenya for its solidarity.

The U.N. Security Council had already authorized Kenya to lead the multinational police mission back in October 2023.

“President Joe Biden praised the arrival of the first contingent, saying that the mission overall “will bring much needed relief.”

‘The people of Haiti deserve to feel safe in their homes, build better lives for their families, and enjoy democratic freedoms’, he said. ‘While these goals may not be accomplished overnight, this mission provides the best chance of achieving them’.”

So far, so good – but who would have thought that ON THE SAME DAY as the peacekeepers arrived in Port-au-Prince, Kenya fell into a state of near-anarchy with the relentless protests – that initially appeared to be against a tax hike legislation – ended up causing a ‘total shutdown’ of the country, saw parliament stormed and at least five people shot dead.

Since that day a week ago, President William Ruto conceded defeat to the protesters and said he would not sign the legislation – but the situation has not improved.

Protesters now demand the resignation of Ruto.

Associated Press reported:

“Police fired tear gas at protesters in Nairobi as many businesses remained closed for fear of looting. The main highway to Kenya’s second-largest city, Mombasa, was closed as protesters lit bonfires.

In Mombasa, five vehicles were burnt by protesters outside a hotel whose owner is alleged to have shot at protesters who were looting.

While there are concerns that President William Ruto might change his mind and sign the finance bill before next week’s deadline, some protesters are also calling on Ruto to resign and accusing him of bad governance.”

There you go: from Major US ally to the brink of conflict in mere days.

The government says that “criminals” were taking advantage of planned protests to “commit arson” and “terrorize” Kenyans.

“The president has offered to have dialogue with Kenyan youth and has promised budget cuts on travel and hospitality for his office in line with some protesters’ demands. As unemployment remains high and prices rise, there has been outrage over the luxurious lives of the president and other senior officials.”

But members of the protest movement do not trust the president to implement his new austerity plans.

CBS News caught up with Kamala Harris outside of a Biden-Harris campaign fundraising event in McLean, Virginia on Tuesday evening.

The CBS reporter confronted Kamala Harris about Democrats calling for Joe Biden to drop out of the 2024 presidential race after his disastrous debate performance.

Four Democrat lawmakers privately called for Joe Biden to drop out of the race, according to NBC News.

Democrat Rep. Lloyd Doggett came forward and publicly called for Joe Biden to drop out on Tuesday.

White House reporters from Fox News, CBS, CNN, ABC, Reuters, AP, Bloomberg, Newsmax, and NBC on Tuesday repeatedly grilled Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre about Joe Biden’s cognitive decline following his disastrous debate performance.

One reporter point blank asked KJP if Biden has “Alzheimer’s or any form of dementia.”

“Some Democrats are calling on Biden to drop out of the race. What’s your response?” CBS News asked Kamala Harris.

“Joe Biden is our nominee,” Kamala Harris said.

“Are you ready to lead the country if necessary?” CBS News asked.

Kamala Harris responded: “I am proud to be Joe Biden’s running mate.”

Jen Psaki Finally Caves After Subpoena Warning

Jen Psaki Finally Caves After Subpoena Warning

Jen Psaki Finally Caves After Subpoena Warning
July 2, 2024

Former White House press secretary Jen Psaki has surrendered.

Ending months of back-and-forth, Psaki has agreed to be interviewed by the House Foreign Affairs Committee as it investigates the August 2021 U.S. exit from Afghanistan, according to Axios.

The committee’s chairman, Republican Rep. Michael McCaul of Texas, has said the panel plans to publish its report on the Biden administration’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan before the November election.

McCaul initially contacted Psaki, now an MSNBC host, in September, but he met resistance.

Axios suggested the committee will be seeking the differences between what she was telling the American people as the spokeswoman for President Joe Biden and what the White House actually knew as Afghanistan collapsed in a matter of days, leaving thousands trapped in Kabul. The deaths of 13 American service members in a terrorist attack punctuated the chaos.

On June 5, McCaul wrote Psaki’s lawyers saying she already “has published her insight into the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan for public consumption and personal profit. Ms. Psaki’s duty to appear before Congress is manifest, and her former employer’s desire to avoid congressional oversight is not relevant.”

At that time, the chairman said he would subpoena her if necessary.

On June 24, the White House counsel’s office told McCaul that the committee’s request “raises serious separation-of-powers and Executive Branch confidentiality issues.”

However, it said, “as an extraordinary accommodation, we will authorize Ms. Psaki to participate in a voluntary transcribed interview accompanied by personal counsel and the White House counsel’s office subject to appropriate terms and conditions for the interview.”

An interim report published before the 2022 elections that saw the Republicans take control of Congress condemned the actions of Biden and his administration.

“[T]he administration repeatedly delayed critical action that was necessary to mitigate the likely consequences of the decision. The result of their inaction was a chaotic Non-combatant Evacuation Operation (NEO) where 13 U.S. servicemembers lost their lives and more than 800 Americans were abandoned behind enemy lines,” the initial report said.

It said that when Biden announced the withdrawal in April 2021, he made multiple claims to the American people.

“However, the Committee Minority now believes none of these claims were accurate. And worse, President Biden was likely aware they were not accurate when he made his case to the American people in April 2021,” the report said.

“The Biden administration’s own internal assessments understood that the Afghan military would be unable to defend the country from the Taliban without American air support, military advisors, and contractors, who they relied upon to enable the operation of the Afghan Air Force,” it said. “The president was warned repeatedly that the return of the Taliban was a question of when, not if.”

The initial report said the “administration made almost no effort to evacuate Afghan partners who fought side-by-side with our military.”

It said the president and his aides deceived the American people.

“The Biden administration repeatedly misled the American people about the real situation on the ground in Kabul, issuing public statements that were in direct opposition to the internal reports being sent by the State Department and U.S. military,” the report said.

“Despite claiming a robust deliberation process on withdrawal, senior Biden administration officials acknowledge that the recommendations of senior military advisors, diplomats and allies were ignored,” it said.

Sharika Soal: Harry Sisson Threatened Trump Because Of Felony Conviction While Omitting George Floyd Was a Felon
July 2, 2024

I don’t usually pay attention to Gen Z political creators, but I will make an exception for Harry.

While scrolling my timeline on X, formerly Twitter, this morning, the most hilarious and disturbing video from one of Biden’s lackeys popped up.

It was a video of Harry Sisson, a 21-year-old who dedicates his social media to pandering to the left’s talking points and anti-Trump crowd.

Harry also loves to tweet about black votes, which brings me to my point. Pandering to the black community for sport won’t make us like you, Harry.

On Monday, the Supreme Court ruled that Donald Trump was immune from criminal prosecution for official acts. This prompted Sisson to tweet out a threat that caught the eye of the Trump campaign manager.

Like most liberals who throw rocks and then hide their hands like toddlers, Sisson seized this opportunity to make a TikTok video stating that he “won’t be silenced” from speaking out because he sees Trump for what he is: a convicted felon.

@harryjsissonInteresting! 07/01/24♬ original sound – Harry

Someone needs to tell Harry that the National Institutes of Health published an article in 2017 stating that 33 percent of the black male adult population has felonies.

Per NIH.gov,

We estimate that 3 % of the total U.S. adult population and 15 % of the African American adult male population has ever been to prison; people with felony convictions account for 8 % of all adults and 33 % of the African American adult male population. We discuss the far-reaching consequences of the spatial concentration and immense growth of these groups since 1980.

See, Harry, it doesn’t make you look smart or witty when you use “convicted felon” as justification to threaten to kill a former president indirectly.

You look dumb to black voters with a brain and sense of integrity. Sorry to be so blunt, but it is incredibly unwise to see yourself as a savior of black voters when you insult a large portion of that voting block for likes and views on TikTok.
