WaPo Columnist Capehart Says ‘USA’ Chants at GOP Rallies ‘Felt Menacing’ But Gushes Over Chants at DNC

During PBS News Hour coverage of night three of the Democratic National Convention, Washington Post’s Jonathan Capehart shared that hearing the “USA! USA!” chants at Republican rallies felt “menacing.”
Yet somehow, those same chants were just fine when they came from an arena of America-hating Democrats at the DNC, and Capehart gushed over ‘USA’ chants, flags, and signs at the DNC.
Newsbusters shared a transcript of Capehart’s remarks.
“[Maryland] Governor Wes Moore did not mention it in his speech, but in his run for governor, he made his mission to reclaim the word patriotism for Democrats. Because for too long, Republicans had owned it, treated it as their own property.”
“We’ve been, I’ve been looking at ‘USA signs, people holding them up, and I will tell you, for years, when I would hear “USA, USA” chanted, particularly at Republican rallies, it felt menacing.”
“Because those folks made it clear that ‘USA,’ I was not meant to be a part of it.”
“And I think with Democrats holding up the signs, they are saying no, no, no, ‘USA’ applies to us. Freedom applies to us. Service to the country applies to us. Patriotism applies to us. This is our country, too.”

Black Pro-Trump Pastor Will Challenge Progressive Activist In Florida

Orlando Pastor Willie Montague is running for Congress in Florida’s 10th District.
The youngest member of the United States Congress, Maxwell “Alejandro” Frost, earned a prime speaking slot during the last night of the all-out weird Democratic National Convention in Chicago earlier this week.
Frost railed against President Donald Trump’s plans to “Make America Great Again” as “just a damn slogan,” and literally told Americans that every last breath they took was a crime against the climate.
And he ranted about how this election is also about “every drop of water.”
Rep. Maxwell Frost, the youngest member of Congress at age 27, focused on environmental issues in his DNC speech, telling the crowd that, “Fighting the climate crisis is patriotic.”
He even said that electing Kamala Harris and Tim Walz was just as patriotic as fighting “climate change.”
Frost is a former leader of the David Hogg anti-gun group March for Our Lives. He ‘infamously gave a speech on the floor of Congress about “childbearing adults” during his argument for unfettered abortion in 2023.
Army veteran and former Recon Sniper Cory Mills, who was elected to the United States Congress in a district neighboring Frost in Central Florida, has no love for the youngest member of Congress.
“The fact that the Democrats’ belief in the concept of “My Body, My Choice,” does not apply to these precious babies proves that they have no allegiance to our founding ideals that are meant to protect and defend the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. It is anti-American and something that you see in communist nations like China.”
Thankfully, Orlando Pastor Willie Montague, a devout Christian Pastor, has derided the economic decline under Democrats like Kamala Harris, Joe Biden, and other "leaders" in the federal government.
Willie is an entrepreneur and spiritual leader.
In addition to being an ordained pastor, he is a community advocate and Founder/President of “House of Timothy” which is a nonprofit organization based in Orlando, Florida for young men between the ages of 18 and 25, seeking a second chance at life in a community environment, according to his website.
Montague called for common ground, citing the rising cost of housing, food, and other issues facing Americans.
He also led marches against government lockdowns and to support parental rights.
Maxwell Frost has spent his term in office fighting against President Donald Trump and other Republicans, disregarding the true needs of his constituents, while Trump was advocating for genuine representation.
Political ideologies may differ, but I believe it’s essential to focus on representing the entire constituency of Florida’s 10th District.
I’m inspired by Dr. Ben Carson’s quote: “An eagle has two wings, a left wing and a right wing, and you need both of them to fly.”
Without compromising our values, we must find common ground where necessary to fight for everyday Americans. This means ensuring more money in the people’s pockets for groceries, gas, and taking time to support our senior citizens," explained Montague.
Montague's statements to this publication highlight how the American people are more worried about making ends meet, not woke ideologies about climate change or the false tales about President Donald J. Trump "attacking democracy."
Reminder... America is a Constitutional Republic, as Montague explained.

Randy Ross, a lead fundraiser of the Trump / Vance Fundraising Committee, who also led Trump's campaign in Orange County (Florida) in 2016, said this about Montague's campaign.
“Voter turnout, as we know...was simply pathetic last cycle and most recently in the 2024 primary process. The only way to take out a Democrat, like Frost, is if Orange County voters come out in a big way and send a message Democrat policies are bad for our Country …. Our economy… Our daily lives.
We cannot make this 2024 General Election about social issues which seems all Frost knows. We must make it about what’s best for family finances, improving border security, and the overall improved moral fabric of the Land of the Free," Ross concluded.
Republicans need to fight in tough districts like Florida'a 10th District if they hope to win in November.

The idea is to use taxation as a means of preventing people from becoming wealthy or from passing on an inheritance to their children. This type of tax would involve assessing the value of assets regularly and could lead to significant tax liabilities for individuals who haven’t actually realized the gains in cash.
The bill created by taxing unrealized gains could force people to sell assets just to cover the taxes, creating liquidity problems, especially for those whose wealth is tied up in illiquid assets like real estate.
It would also require accurately assessing the value of assets on an ongoing basis. The valuation of non-publicly traded assets is subjective and debatable for investment vehicles such as private businesses, copyrights, and patents, intellectual property, memorabilia, or art.
Implementing a tax on unrealized gains would ultimately mean that the government, not the free market, would determine the value of property.
Market volatility causes valuations to fluctuate. Would taxes be refunded if the value of the asset drops below its previously assessed value? And what about inheritance? Liberals oppose the idea that people can bequeath their property to their children. Upon bequeathal, would the heirs pay capital gains tax on the property? Would the property have to be sold in order to pay the taxes?
Taxing unrealized gains could discourage saving and investing, as individuals might be less willing to invest in assets that could generate large tax bills before they actually see any financial benefit. Furthermore, it is unfair to tax “paper gains” that haven’t been realized, as it taxes individuals on potential wealth rather than actual income. This approach could be seen as penalizing people for holding onto assets over the long term. It also violates private property rights, as it represents a forced transfer of private property to the government.
There are concerns that taxing unrealized gains could have broader economic impacts, such as reducing overall investment in the economy, leading to slower economic growth and potentially negative effects on job creation and innovation. Entrepreneurship is driven by the pursuit of future profits. Taxing unrealized gains could discourage entrepreneurial risk-taking, as entrepreneurs might face tax liabilities on paper gains before their ventures have generated actual profits. This could stifle innovation and reduce the dynamism of the economy.
Taxing unrealized gains can be viewed as a disincentive to save and invest, as individuals might be penalized for holding assets that have increased in value, even if they haven’t sold them. This could lead to reduced capital formation, which is essential for long-term economic prosperity. People might shift to either spending rather than investing, or they would only invest in short-term projects to stay liquid when taxes are due. This would lead to suboptimal economic behavior, such as short-termism.
Kamala’s plan to tax unrealized capital gains would expand the size and power of the government, stifle innovation and job creation, and violate property rights while shifting the U.S. further away from a market economy.
The left likes the idea, however, because it would reduce wealth inequality by making hardworking, thrifty, and wise investors poorer.
‘Great Reset’ Plan Would Decimate US Navy, Strip Crews from Ships in Active Surface Fleet

The United States Navy has reportedly drafted a drastic plan in response to a growing manpower problem.
The Military Sealift Command’s “force generation reset,” informally known as “the great reset,” would see 17 Navy ships stripped of crews and moved to long-term maintenance holding.
Although the apparent plan has not been given the green light by Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Lisa Franchetti, some of the targeted ships have been tracked returning to America.
The plan lists 17 support ships with various functions and roles, the U.S. Naval Institute reported.
These constitute nearly six percent of the total active surface fleet battle force, which currently consists of 296 commissioned ships, according to the U.S. Navy’s vessel register.
The Navy holds hundreds more warships ready to deploy, in maintenance or mothballed in a reserve fleet.
According to USNI, two Lewis and Clark-class replenishment ships, a fleet oiler, 12 Spearhead-class expeditionary fast transports, and two of the three expeditionary sea bases would be stripped of crews and be placed in “extended maintenance” under the plan.
At the heart of the Navy’s problem is a lack of manpower.
The MSC ships are crewed by some 5,500 civilians, in addition to a number of Navy personnel filling various roles.
The number of mariners currently billeted on the command’s support ships is simply not a sustainable number, according to USNI. That has created a situation in which ships are incapable of effectively cycling people on and off leave.
While the move may alleviate some manpower concerns, it leaves naval support capabilities severely diminished.
The dozen fast transports targeted as part of the drawdown are used to provide “rapid transport of military equipment and personnel in theater,” according the Military Sealift Command.
If the plan is enacted, the command would only have access to two operational fast transports for its entire operation.

The United States Naval Ship (USNS) Brunswick made a formal visit to the Colombo port yesterday.
This 103-metre-long Spearhead-Class Expeditionary Fast Transport vessel is operated by a 24-member crew, under the command of Captain Andrew H. Peretti.
According to USNI, some of the fast transport ships have already begun to return to the United States for unknown reasons.
The Navy’s manpower problems ring similar to issues faced by other branches of the military. The U.S. Army admitted a complete failure on the recruiting front, necessitating a massive reduction of 24,000 soldiers from the force, 5 percent of its total strength.
In the background of the military shakeup is the rise of China in the Pacific.
As Beijing becomes increasingly aggressive in claiming international waters and foreign territory as its own, America’s ability to counter the Asian superpower will largely be based on our naval capabilities.

During an appearance on Fox Business’s “The Evening Edit,” Leonard told Elizabeth MacDonald, “I haven’t met anybody price gouging.”
Further, he said, the farmers and ranchers he has met have adjusted their prices to reflect a rise in costs.
Leonard shared, “Our farmers and our ranchers have been reflecting their price increases that they’ve had, which has elevated food prices over the last two, three years now.”
“We’re seeing increases, you know, like everybody who has a house or a condo or an apartment, you’re seeing costs go up on fuel and energy or gas used to be around 2 or 3 bucks a gallon, it’s a little higher than that now.”
Leonard Jr. also noted that the suppliers he works with have told him their costs are rising.
“They’re not calling me up and trying to artificially increase their prices, they’re calling me because their prices are going up.”
