In these three years of war, there is only one front in which Ukrainians have been consistently winning, and that, of course, is the MSM’s headlines.

These days, the incursion into Russian territory in the Kursk region is providing context for the pro Kiev crowd to fawn over their ‘victories’, but – as we have written about before – the cross-border adventure comes just as the defenses in Donetsk region are crumbling and Russians score victory after victory on the ground.

Now, Russian Federation forces are said to have begun laying siege to the city of Selidovo, and to be less than 10 km from Pokrovsk – poised to be the biggest conquest since Bakhmut.

Inhabitants of the region have now been forcibly evacuated and met by humanitarian aid workers and volunteers before being sent to shelters nearby.

The Sunday Times reported:

“Russia’s advance on the crucial logistics hub of Pokrovsk, for so long in its crosshairs, has gained momentum. The government in Kyiv ordered the forcible evacuation of the city last week.

In phone calls with The Sunday Times, Ukrainian military commanders were at pains to explain the apparent collapse around Pokrovsk, some blaming a lack of artillery shells, others new Russian tactics or the use of glide bombs and electronic warfare. They agreed, however, that one of the biggest problems they face is being greatly outnumbered.”

Ukrainian defenders say they are overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of Russian attackers.

The gamble by Kiev was that the Kursk invasion would force Moscow to divert significant troops from Donetsk to that region, but that did not happen.

“If Pokrovsk falls, it will be the largest population centre taken by the enemy since the Russians seized Bakhmut in May last year. The local administration has left and its 53,000 inhabitants are preparing for the worst.”

Families are also departing the region in private cars overburdened with roof racks piled high with furniture.

“Lt Mykhailo Luzhetsky, 36, of the 109th brigade, which is fighting near the city, spoke of a ‘depressingly sad atmosphere in Pokrovsk’, adding: ‘We hope everything will be all right, but we understand that the situation is not good’.”

The Times report tried to emphasize Putin’s ‘humiliation’ of having Ukrainian troops in his territory, but they are forced to concede that the onslaught in Donetsk continues unabated.

“‘But Russia keeps going’, said Matthew Savill of the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI), a military and security think tank in London. ‘The Russian mindset seems to be, ’We took tens of millions of casualties in the Second World War and we can keep going’’.”

In Barcelona, the names of saints are being erased from the streets. Hand in hand with the most radical and ideological (and contradictory) feminism, the roles of saintly women have been replaced with the names of local women who were not saints, highlighting their fathers’ last names.

Exalting the Patriarchy They Claim to Fight

Instead of recognizing women for their merit and virtue, the supposed feminist discourse replaced their sanctity with a man’s name. They claim to fight against the patriarchy (which literally means «the rule of the fathers»), but they have only exacerbated it (in its most profound essence, not in the sense their ideology assigns to it, which asserts that the «patriarchy» oppresses women).

This happened in the Gracia neighborhood of Barcelona. The streets once named after Saint Agatha, Saint Rosa, and Saint Magdalene have now been renamed Agatha Badia i Puig Rodon, Magdalene E. Blanc, and Rosa Puig Rodon.

«Feminism, Equality, and Democratic Memory»

Historically, socialism has been linked to atheism, and now that the socialists are governing in Catalonia, they are demonstrating it. The Barcelona City Council, controlled by the Socialist Party, justifies the decision to change these names, citing an initiative to increase the number of streets named after women. However, the streets already bore women’s names—they simply didn’t want them to be those of saints.

Raquel Gil, Councilor for «Feminism, Equality, and Democratic Memory,» dismissed the official narrative, stating, «Today we decided that women have first and last names beyond beliefs and other issues.»

Against the Erasure of Women

Although they have not protested in this particular case, there is a movement in Spain called «Against the Erasure of Women,» led by feminists who challenge the gender agenda that allows men to declare themselves women.

Moreover, in Spain, thanks to the «Trans Law»—which emerged from the Ministry of Social Rights and Agenda 2030 (yes, that’s its name)—people can legally change their gender without needing to present a medical certificate; their testimony is sufficient.

In the case of the Barcelona City Council, however, it’s evident how feminist lobbying is pushing for more female representation in street names. However, they are erasing the historical names of several streets that honored women—in this case, three saints.

A Step Towards Islamization

In light of the de-Christianization of the streets, European Parliament member Hermann Tertsch warned that it is only a matter of time before the street names are replaced by Islamic names. And not just any Muslim names, but those of terrorists and leaders who were fought against during the Crusades.

In other words, Tertsch predicts that a Catalonia alienated from its history will end up glorifying its historical enemies. After all, the Reconquista took place in 1492 after more than 700 years of fighting against the Islamic advance in the Iberian Peninsula.

«It’s Ideological and Reflects the Left’s Obsession with Destroying Catholicism»

Vox leader Gonzalo de Oro also criticized the name changes, saying that «the renaming of streets dedicated to saints and the monarchy only reflects the left’s obsession with eliminating anything related to Catholicism and Spanish identity.»

He accuses Ada Colau, and now Jaume Collboni, of attempting to «erase» streets named after saints. De Oro considers it «absurd» to change the name of a historic street just to remove the word «saint.»

Even the People’s Party (PP) has reacted. The PP president in the city council, Daniel Sirera, remarked, «It’s ideological and reflects the left’s obsession with destroying Catholicism.»

In doing so, they ignore the impact that these saints had on people’s lives. In the case of Saint Agatha, for example, her role was specifically to care for women with ailments, as she is the patron saint of women who have been victims of abuse or breast cancer.

Male Saints Suffer the Same Fate

Although most of the streets affected have been those dedicated to female saints, there is also a case involving a male saint. The name of San Rafael Street, in the Raval neighborhood, is in the process of being changed.

There is already an initiative underway to protect it, led by e-christians, which aims to preserve Christian traditions and restore historic names.

Replacing Historic Names with Ideological Figures

Forum Libertas criticizes the city council’s measures, arguing that they seek to erase over 150 years of history and deny the fact that this heritage is something many citizens wish to preserve. They point out that the new street names imposed by the Barcelona City Council aim to subvert this reality.

Finally, they lament that historic names have been replaced with ideological figures. As J.R.R. Tolkien said: «Evil cannot create anything new, it can only corrupt or ruin what good forces have invented or built.»

Over the weekend,  a huge revival broke out at The Ohio State University. Hundreds of college students gathered to praise God, led by members of the school’s football team.

Organizers preached the gospel to between 800-1,000 people who gathered in fellowship. By the end of the event, the school’s student paper, The Lantern, reports that at least 60 students were baptized into the Christian faith.

According to The Lantern, “I was just doing my thing because it was fun, and I’ll tell you this: I was on High Street, and I enjoyed it,” former Buckeyes wide receiver Kamryn Babb said.

“I had fun. But at the same time, I didn’t recognize my condition. I was spiritually dead. I was spiritually dead. I could go out there, and I could smile and laugh. I can go back to the (Woody Hayes Athletic Center), and smile and laugh. But on the inside, I was broken. I was broken.”

Wide receiver Emeka Egbuka shared his excitement remarking, “We were praying for years and years for an event like this, and we were praying with expectation — we serve a miracle-working God.”

“So we definitely had an expectation when it came out, but God did increasingly and abundantly more than what we thought. So, we’re just so blessed and thankful.”

Kevin Walsh captured some of the powerful and affirming moments and shared them on TikTok.

Walsh said of the event, “Ohio State Football is making a difference.I can barely put to words how amazing this Jesus revival is on the Ohio State University campus. Countless attendees surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ, and professed their faith through water baptism.”

Two NASA astronauts will likely be stranded in space until early next year, and many are placing the blame on one individual’s shoulders — Vice President and 2024 Democratic nominee Kamala Harris.

On June 5, astronauts Barry “Butch” Wilmore and Sunita “Suni” Williams traveled to the International Space Station via Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft. The two were expected to return on June 14, but helium leaks and a thruster issue have kept the Starliner stranded, per ABC News.

The two may have to wait until early 2025 to return to Earth. According to Fox News’s Lucas Tomlinson, NASA scrapped a dodgy mission that would have returned the astronauts home sooner.

Instead, the government has been forced to turn to the private sector; more specifically, they’ve turned to Elon Musk’s SpaceX, which will return Wilmore and Williams home early next year via a much safer route than NASA’s scrapped plan.

Given the disaster this situation is for NASA, many have asked the obvious question: Who is in charge?

Who is highest up in the government leadership overseeing the security of NASA operations?

The answer: Vice President Harris.

“This is what happens when you put Kamala in charge of the National Space Council,” the Daily Wire’s Ben Shapiro said in response to news of the stranding.

According to CNN, Harris took on the role of National Space Council chair in 2021.

According to the White House, the National Space Council is responsible for coordinating “the nation’s civil, commercial, and national security space activities to advance the broader priorities of the Biden-Harris Administration.”

Among her personal priorities were introducing diversity standards into the workforce, per CNN. By doing so, Harris aimed to “put her own personal stamp on the Council.”

Shapiro and other critics argue that Harris did in fact leave her own personal stamp, albeit not in the positive way that she had hoped.

Another scathing critique placing the blame for this failure at Harris’s feet came from the New York Post’s editorial board on Aug. 15.

What’s more, the Post argued that Harris now has an incentive to leave the astronauts stranded until after Election Day.

“Rotten luck for astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams: Not only have a series of poor decisions by NASA and Boeing leadership got them stuck in space, but now they’re being held hostage by Kamala Harris’ political ambitions,” the Post wrote.

“That’s right: The vice president chairs the National Space Council, which is supposed to give NASA its direction — which means she already shares blame for this mess, and is best served by just letting the ‘castaways’ rot until after Election Day.”

“One thing is clear. Even if NASA comes up with some other answer, those astronauts won’t come home before November. Because Harris chairs the National Space Council: The buck stops with her, but she has an election to win.”

Massachusetts GOP lawmakers are demanding transparency regarding more than $1 billion the state has spent on migrants in the state largely, they claim, is ‘shrouded in secrecy.’

MassGOP released a statement demanding that Gov. Maura Healey’s administration provide a detailed cost breakdown of what the state has spent on the illegals flooding into the state, thanks to the failed policies of the Biden-Harris administration, and the impact it has had on residents.

MassGOP chair Amy Carnevale said in a statement, “The Healey-Driscoll Administration has shrouded nearly $1 billion spent in secrecy, leaving Massachusetts residents in the dark.”

“They have withheld critical information on 600 incidents involving police, fire, and EMT. Blocking journalists at every turn, the administration has obstructed the flow of information to the public.”

In a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request, Carnevale demanded several key pieces of information, including specifics of the state’s funding of migrant housing, the names of government and private entities providing emergency housing, where the emergency housing is located, all correspondence relating to public safety concerns, and any incident reports or police reports.

Carnevale suggests that Democrats in the state have created a “veil of secrecy” surrounding the real cost of the migrant crisis and the impact it has on Massachusettsans.

Carnevale said, “Today, the Massachusetts Republican Party is standing against the veil of secrecy and the obstructionist efforts of the Healey-Driscoll Administration and the Democratic supermajority.”

“We stand with the Massachusetts press corps in declaring: enough is enough. The public deserves transparency. Release the details on the vendors profiting from this crisis and the public safety issues affecting our communities.”

“On behalf of Massachusetts residents, we are demanding accountability,” she added.

The MassGOP’s request comes after the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) released a report on July 24, which predicted Massachusetts will struggle to manage the growing number of migrants coming to the state.

The report noted that the state has already spent more than $1 billion on the Emergency Assistance sheltering program that houses migrants.

“The cost to Massachusetts taxpayers of temporary housing and shelters is enormous, but it pales in comparison to the costs that will accumulate in the future if those in the temporary shelters today remain in the Commonwealth for the long term,” wrote Jessica Vaughan, CIS director of policy studies.

In addition to housing, some other costs taxpayers will have to cover include schooling, social services, medical care and public safety.
