‘Rock Star’ J.D. Vance Campaigns With His Mother in Michigan (Photos and Video)

Trump vice presidential running mate Sen. J. D. Vance (R-OH) hit the campaign trail in Michigan on Tuesday with a special guest–his mother Beverly on her first campaign swing–where he was given a rock star reception at a rally and a local restaurant. Mother and son flew in on Trump Force 2 and spent a hot summer day in Big Rapids.

J.D. spoke at a well-attended outdoor rally, held a press conference and visited an A&W Restaurant where he was very well received. Vance was doing the normal campaign things that his and Trump’s opponents, Kamala Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz have failed to do since they were crowned the Democratic Party’s nominees for president and vice president last Thursday.

The rally, attended by about 2,000 according to reports, was held at Majestic Friesians Horse Farms in Big Rapids. The stage had a large protective bulletproof glass shield like the one employed for the Trump rally in Asheboro, North Carolina last week.

Vance spoke against the electric battery plant planned in Michigan by the Chinese company Gotion, Inc. (MLive excerpt):

Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance blasted a planned $2.36 billion battery parts plant in mid-Michigan for its ties to China, speaking near the factory’s site in a campaign rally on Tuesday, Aug. 27.

Vance, the running mate of former President Donald Trump, was joined by Michigan GOP lawmakers at a farm near Big Rapids where they stirred up criticism linking Chinese battery maker Gotion Inc. to the Chinese Communist Party, calling the Gotion plant “a threat to America’s national security.”

The vice presidential candidate claimed Democrats, including Vice President Kamala Harris and Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, have funded Chinese companies like Gotion that undercut Michigan’s auto industry. Gotion plans to make components for electric vehicle batteries in Green Township on the outskirts of Big Rapids, which is about an hour north of Grand Rapids.

…Lori Brock, the owner of Friesian Majestic Horse, said the Gotion battery plant has turned Green Township from a “quiet and peaceful place to live” to a “political battleground.”

…“President Trump and Sen. Vance know that the Chinese Communist Party is the biggest national security threat that our country has faced in decades, and the fact that our governor is handing over millions of our tax dollars to a company controlled by these same people who fly spy balloons over our military baseless is reckless and absurd,” she said.

Afterward Vance spoke held a brief press conference.

Vance and hos mother then went to an A&W Restaurant where he treated supporters to root beer floats.

Vance has hit his stride on the campaign trail. He will be in the swing states of Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania (rally in Erie at 3 p.m. Wednesday.) as well as other states for campaigning and fundraising for the next two months.

Vance and his mother flew into Nashville Tuesday evening where he addressed reporters about the superseding indictment brought against Trump by Special Counsel Jack Smith. While talking about presidential immunity, Vance reminded reporters Barack Obama droned an American citizen:

Juan Izquierdo, a Uruguayan footballer who played as a defender

27-year-old footballer Juan Izquierdo has tragically passed away just days after collapsing during a match in Brazil.

The tragic news was confirmed by his Uruguayan club, Nacional.

“It is with deepest pain and shock in our hearts that Club Nacional de Football announces the passing of our beloved player Juan Izquierdo. We express our sincere condolences to his family, friends, colleagues and loved ones. All of Nacional is mourning his irreparable loss. RIP. Juan, you will be with us forever,” Nacional announced on X.

Izquierdo collapsed on the field last Thursday during a Copa Libertadores match at São Paulo’s Morumbi Stadium, according to ESPN.

He was immediately rushed to Albert Einstein Israelite Hospital, where he was placed under intensive care.

“Patient Juan Manuel Izquierdo Viana was admitted to the Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein on August 22, 2024, at 8:55 p.m., in cardiac arrest, of undetermined onset, secondary to an arrhythmia,” according to the update provided by the hospital.

“The hospital immediately began cardiopulmonary resuscitation, including a defibrillation procedure, and the patient regained spontaneous circulation. Since then, Juan has been hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit, sedated, on mechanical ventilation and under neurological intensive care.”

On the next day, Nacional provided another update, stating, “According to information provided by the attending physicians at the Albert Einstein Hospital in São Paulo, Juan’s cardiac arrhythmia is stable. He remains sedated in the ICU, where he will continue to be observed for at least the next 72 hours.”

Despite initial reports that he was in a stable condition, his health took a turn for the worse.

“Patient Juan Manuel Izquierdo underwent new tests this Sunday, August 25. The evaluation showed a progression of brain involvement and an increase in intracranial pressure. Juan remains in neurological intensive care, dependent on mechanical ventilation,” according to the update last weekend.

The hospital released a statement late Tuesday revealing that Izquierdo had suffered “cardiorespiratory arrest associated with his cardiac arrhythmia.”

ESPN reported:

Izquierdo’s career included spells at Cerro, Peñarol, Wanderers and Liverpool in Uruguay. He also played for Liga MX‘s San Luis.

The Uruguayan Football Association said the news was deeply painful, while the national governing bodies of Argentina, Peru, Paraguay and Colombia extended their condolences to Izquierdo’s family and friends.

Brazilian Football Federation President Ednaldo Rodrigues said a minute’s silence would be observed in every match organised by the federation on Wednesday.

Sao Paulo said they were deeply saddened by the news, calling it a “sad day for football”.

Kamala Harris posted a letter from “Tucker” Tuesday night on her Twitter page promoting gun control.

The tweet made people think it was from Tucker Carlson.

Here is the text:

Vice President Harris,

One of my absolute favorite things in America is how people of different backgrounds and beliefs have the freedom to communicate with each other. We are so blessed to live in a country where the greatest currency is the free-flowing exchange of ideas. In America, we are blessed with the ability to come together on common ground.

In the spirit fo establishing common ground, even though I am fairly conservative and we may have our disagreements, I am writing to express my gratitude for yours and President Biden’s efforts to establish common sense gun safety laws. Owning firearms is every American’s Constitutional right. Like all things, there needs to be reasonable regulation like age restrictions, background checks, and mental health screenings. Thank you for heading the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention and for years and President Biden’s push for common sense gun safety laws. I look forward to seeing what the Biden-Harris administration accomplishes in this regard.

The first thing that sticks out about the letter is “Tucker’s” praise for free speech. Kamala Harris and Joe Biden have destroyed the intent of the First Amendment in the country today. Numerous Americans are in prison, under lawfare attacks (including this website), were censored, (this website among others), were even sent to prison for a meme during the Biden administration.

Kamala and Old Joe ruled the country like Marxist thugs for four years. Even Mark Zuckerberg finally admitted this earlier this week.

The second thing readers noted was that the signature was not likely Tucker Carlson’s.

Viva Frei pointed this out.

There are also reports that the language was generated by AI.

The Gateway Pundit reached out to our friends at XRVision. They confirmed that the letter was originally created by AI but was then altered and written by hand to make it look authentic.

Nothing is real with Kamala’s campaign.

Gov. Tim Walz’s ban on faithful Christians from teaching in Minnesota’s public is set to hit the state’s schools in just months.

It also bans adherent Jews and Muslims.

And a report at the Federalist warns that he is “poised to make similar bigoted, totalitarian and unconstitutional policies” for the entire nation, “should he be elected vice president.”

The report from the publication’s executive editor, Joy Pullmann, explains the state has new teacher licensing rules that will take effect in July 2025, and they will “ban practicing Christians, Jews, and Muslims from teaching in public schools.”

It’s because under the plans of the leftist governor, the state will demand that teacher license applicants “affirm transgenderism and race Marxism.”

No license? No job for anyone to teach in the state’s public schools. Or private schools if they require that certification.

Specifically, the rules will demand: “The teacher fosters an environment that ensures student identities such as race/ethnicity, national origin, language, sex and gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, physical/developmental/emotional ability, socioeconomic class, and religious beliefs are historically and socially contextualized, affirmed, and incorporated into a learning environment where students are empowered to learn and contribute as their whole selves.”

Administrative law judges already have approved the anti-faith ideologies.

The report pointed out that universities also are impacted because they must now provide the anti-Christian training.

The state already was demanding that teachers, renewing licenses, demonstrate “cultural competency,” which includes evidence of “self-reflection and discussion” of the state’s new ideologies.

Doug Seaton, of the Upper Midwest Law Center, said some “Christian” universities will obey, and others will not, but will disobey “quietly,” to sue only when they are punished.

The report pointed out, “Faithful members of the world’s largest and oldest religions cannot in good conscience ‘affirm’ non-heterosexual sexual orientations and gender identities. Christians who do so publicly deny their faith, something Jesus Christ said endangers a person’s soul and eternal bliss after death: ‘Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven’ (Matthew 10:32, 33).”

The state action actually is called “compelled speech,” the report noted, which “is clearly unconstitutional.”

Seaton said, “They’re essentially requiring people to affirm these ideas that they don’t really believe, in many cases, as a condition of being a public school teacher or being part of a program to be a licensed public school teacher. You can’t force that kind of speech, you can’t require adherence to ideas that aren’t believed.”

The Federalist report noted an investigation by the Wall Street Journal found that “ethnic studies” demands in Minnesota “mirror” the demands for affirming sexual deviations.

For example, the report said, “Fourth-graders must ‘identify the processes and impacts of colonization and examine how discrimination and the oppression of various racial and ethnic groups have produced resistance movements.’ High-school students are told to ‘develop an analysis of racial capitalism’ and ‘anti-blackness’ and are taught to view themselves as members of ‘racialized hierarchies’ based on ‘dominant European beauty standards.’”

A Child Protection League analysis notes the state demands teachers “understand” that teaching is shaped by race and ethnicity, to the detriment of some “races,” and that those include indigenous people, blacks, “Latinx Americans” and others.

A state lawmaker earlier condemned the “horrific chaos” Walz has brought to schools by demanding that districts “report student discipline by race and require equal outcomes.”

The results could be predicted: the student achievement in the state is plummeting.

President Trump and several family members of the fallen from the August 26, 2021 Abbey Gate terror attack had a heartfelt, dignified morning at Arlington National Cemetery on Monday honoring their loved ones on the third anniversary of the attack. Trump participated with the family members along with several grievously wounded survivors in three wreath laying ceremonies at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, followed by a visit to the graves of the fallen in Section 60.

The wreath laying ceremonies were covered by the media (somewhat), but press was not allowed by cemetery rules at Section 60. However, the Trump campaign said it had been granted permission by Arlington and the families to film at Section 60 that day.

A cemetery official on the scene tried to prevent the photographers with Trump and the families from accompanying them in Section 60, provoking an alleged incident that was reported by NPR Tuesday (excerpt):

Two members of Donald Trump’s campaign staff had a verbal and physical altercation Monday with an official at Arlington National Cemetery, where the former president participated in a wreath-laying ceremony, NPR has learned.

A source with knowledge of the incident said the cemetery official tried to prevent Trump staffers from filming and photographing in a section where recent U.S. casualties are buried. The source said Arlington officials had made clear that only cemetery staff members would be authorized to take photographs or film in the area, known as Section 60.

When the cemetery official tried to prevent Trump campaign staff from entering Section 60, campaign staff verbally abused and pushed the official aside, according to the source.

..In a statement to NPR, Steven Cheung, the Trump campaign’s spokesman, strongly rejected the notion of a physical altercation, adding: “We are prepared to release footage if such defamatory claims are made.

“The fact is that a private photographer was permitted on the premises and for whatever reason an unnamed individual, clearly suffering from a mental health episode, decided to physically block members of President Trump’s team during a very solemn ceremony,” Cheung said in the statement.

Cheung posted on X Twitter a copy of the permission from Arlington:

The Trump campaign’s Chris LaCivita, a Marine veteran of the Gulf War awarded a Purple Heart, in a statement to reporters blasted the official at Arlington who tried to block the photographers (via Axios excerpt):

A cemetery spokesperson said federal law “prohibits political campaign or election-related activities within Army National Military Cemeteries, to include photographers, content creators or any other persons attending for purposes, or in direct support of a partisan political candidate’s campaign.”

The cemetery “reinforced and widely shared this law and its prohibitions with all participants” and “a report was filed” on the incident, added the spokesperson in the emailed statement.

…Trump campaign senior adviser Chris LaCivita said in an emailed statement that the Republican nominee was attending on the invitation of the Abbey Gate Gold Star Families.

“For a despicable individual to physically prevent President Trump’s team from accompanying him to this solemn event is a disgrace and does not deserve to represent the hollowed (sic) grounds of Arlington National Cemetery,” LaCivita said.

“Whoever this individual is spreading these lies are dishonoring the men and women of our armed forces, and they are disrespecting everyone who paid the price for defending our country.”
