As grocery store chains such as Aldi, Walmart, and Whole Foods have fled Chicago due to an increase in theft, Chicago is planning to launch a city-run grocery store.

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson has commissioned a study looking into creating grocery stores operated by the City of Chicago.

HR&A Advisors did the study, and the research concluded that Chicago could establish three stores in the city to combat “food deserts” in the Windy City.

The Chicago Sun Times revealed the report reads, “In the absence of private sector action or commitment to provide sustainable grocery options, it is necessary for the city to play a role in creating and sustaining grocery services in neighborhoods that lack grocery access.”

In a post on X, Johnson wrote, “My administration aims to tackle food inequity with a network of three City-owned grocery stores, offering equitable access to fresh, healthy food in underserved communities.”

The move by Johnson was a step by Chicago to implement a communist system where the city or state owned the production and distribution of food, which history shows us ended disastrously.

Aldi, Whole Foods, Walmart, Save a Lot: These grocery stores have become a sad commentary on the challenges facing historically disinvested communities in Chicago. In the past few years, all these franchises have shuttered locations, citing financial challenges, with six stores closing in the last two years alone. Residents have grown increasingly frustrated at efforts to bring better food to their neighborhoods.

That’s why Chicago is making plans to potentially open a store of its own. Mayor Brandon Johnson’s office commissioned a feasibility study, delivered earlier this month, looking into the idea of establishing a city-run grocery store, which would make Chicago the first major U.S. city to do so. The report, by HR&A Advisors, found that the city could establish a three-store network that would fill its food deserts for $26.7 million in upfront investment.

“There are places in both urban and rural communities where the market doesn’t meet the moment,” says Ameya Pawar, a former Chicago alderman who now works for the Economic Security Project, a nonprofit focused on fighting inequality. “What we need in communities is banks and grocery stores and pharmacies that are permanently tethered to the community. The demands of shareholders shouldn’t be tied to the health and wellbeing and lifespan of local stakeholders.”

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg finally admitted, in an effort to cover himself, that the Biden-Harris regime put relentless pressure on him to censor truthful and critical information from the public.

In a letter addressed to House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, Zuckerberg openly admitted that Meta, the parent company of Facebook, was subjected to relentless pressure by the Biden administration to censor content related to COVID-19, even when the content was satirical or humorous, and the infamous Hunter Biden laptop.

Zuckerberg also addressed the financial contributions he made through the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, better known as Zuckerbucks, during the 2020 election cycle. While he insists these contributions supported electoral infrastructure in a ‘nonpartisan manner,’ they have almost exclusively benefited Democrats.

Here is the letter:

When asked for comment by Fox News, a Regime spokesperson responded with a disgusting statement that doubled down on their tyrannical actions and took a swipe at Zuckerberg in the process.

“When confronted with a deadly pandemic, this administration encouraged responsible actions to protect public health and safety. Our position has been clear and consistent: we believe tech companies and other private actors should take into account the effects their actions have on the American people, while making independent choices about the information they present.”

Translation: the 1st Amendment is an obstacle in our way of achieving a dictatorship, so it is incumbent upon outside actors to provide a workaround. Shame on Zuckerberg for blurting out our sinister scheme for the world to hear.

The Gateway Pundit was directly impacted by the Regime and Big Tech’s censorship tyranny. As readers know, TGP’s Jim Hoft is one of the five lead plaintiffs in Murthy v. Missouri, the most important free speech case in 50 years.

The case originally started after the States of Missouri and Louisiana, joined by The Gateway Pundit and the other individuals, alleged that the Biden White House and DOZENS of federal officials and agencies were conspiring with and/ or coercing Social Media Companies such as Facebook, Twitter and others to censor the speech of MILLIONS OF AMERICAN CITIZENS, particularly during COVID and the lead-up to and aftermath of the 2020 Presidential Election.

The case eventually made its way to the U.S. Supreme Court which asked the justices to resolve the following questions:

1. Whether the plaintiffs had standing, which is a legal concept meaning that the courts allow that person to claim an injury,

2. Whether the government’s urging social media companies to deplatform, delete, and suppress the content of specific citizens and topics such as Hunter Biden’s laptop, vaccines, voter fraud in the 2020 election, COVID policy, among others, were violations of the first amendment, and

3. Whether the terms of the trial courts injunction, meaning a court order for the government to stop suppressing speech while the case was ongoing, was proper.

The evidence clearly showed – and even Zuckerberg admitted, that the FBI pressured Facebook to take down the Hunter Biden laptop story – in true Fascist manner, the Feds worked with or otherwise demanded that Big Tech police the speech that they disagreed with and that went against the government’s approved party dogma.

Sadly, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in a 6-3 decision authored by Justice Amy Coney Barrett that the Biden-Harris Regime’s policy of deleting, suppressing, and deplatforming specific people, topics, and ideas is immune from suit, leaving no one able to challenge it in court. She also let the government off the hook for the censorship regime the government created and maintained.

Following the ruling, Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey vowed that he would head back to the district court to obtain more discovery.

The only guarantee to end the censorship regime and save our democracy is to send Donald Trump back to the White House. A Harris regime will not only continue to pressure Big Tech to censor ordinary Americans when they post inconvenient truths but also try to lock them up and put conservative publishers out of business.

At least two airline workers are dead, and a third has sustained severe injuries following a catastrophic tire explosion at Delta Airlines’ maintenance facility in Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport on Tuesday.

The explosion occurred at the Technical Operations Maintenance facility (TOC 3) of Delta Air Lines.

Information on the cause of the explosion is still unknown.

According to a statement released by Delta Air Lines, the incident claimed the lives of two dedicated team members, while another worker sustained severe injuries and is currently receiving medical care.

The Delta family is heartbroken at the loss of two team members and the injury of another following an incident this morning at the Atlanta Technical Operations Maintenance facility (TOC 3). We have extended our full support to family members and colleagues during this incredibly difficult time.

The Delta family is grateful for the quick action of first responders and medical teams on site. We are now working with local authorities and conducting a full investigation to determine what happened.

Jesse Watters continued his investigation on the July 13th attempted assassination of President Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania.

The rest of the mainstream media has moved on from the story of the year – the shooting of President Trump on stage at a MAGA rally in Pennsylvania and murder of Trump supporter Corey Comperatore in the crowd that day.

On Monday, Jesse pointed out that the family has somehow retained high powered attorneys to defend them following the attempted assassination of the former president and leading presidential candidates.

Also, Jesse asked his audience why the Secret Service told agents not to request extra manpower for the rally. Why was that?

And Mr. Crooks hired a high-powered lawyer to defend him. Jesse asked, “Why did you have to hire defence lawyers if you had no idea what your son was up to? Who recommended the dad hire these lawyers?”

This was another important segment by Jesse Watters.

Jesse Watters: “The Post talked to a neighbour who said the shooter’s family is an enigma. Everybody around here knows each other, but no one knows them. You can ask anybody on the street. They barely know these people. I didn’t even know their names. The police aren’t even stationed in the shooter’s neighbourhood anymore. It’s been weeks since police were here. There’s nothing happening…

…One whistleblower told Senator Josh Hawley that the top brass at Secret Service headquarters told agents to not request extra manpower for the rally where Trump was shot. Why would he do that? Why not just deny the request? Why make a point of telling them not to ask? Was it because they didn’t want the denial of extra manpower for Trump in writing? The allegation contradicts the Secret Service director’s testimony. He said Trump wasn’t denied resources for that rally. We’re also finding out that at least five Secret Service agents were placed on leave after the shooting, including the head of the Pittsburgh field office, who was in charge of the security at the Trump rally, and the site agent who was in charge of devising the security plan. That agent was actually on Trump’s detail. We don’t know if they were placed on leave for disciplinary reasons or something else.

But it’s also been reported that the day before Trump was shot, local police set aside radios for the Secret Service, but the Secret Service never picked them up. When local police were radioing that there was a man on the roof, the Secret Service never heard it.”

An Arizona woman was arrested in front of her 10-year-old daughter after she seemingly offended the town mayor when she began criticizing city officials during a city council meeting last week.

Rebekah Massie took to the stand to voicing her opposition to a renewal of a city attorney’s contract which would include a salary raise. Massie, furious about the pay increase, began her attack by claiming that the official previously violated the U.S. Bill of Rights, the Arizona constitution, and the state bar’s rules of professional conduct.

As Massie was just getting her attack rolling by bringing up the multiple public records requests that she made in regards to other issues, she was abruptly cut off by Suprise Mayor Skip Hall. He pointed her to the council’s preposterous rules stating that oral communication is not permitted to “lodge charges or complains against any employee of the City to members of the body”.

“This is the public meeting forum you agree to when you speak.” Hall told the woman, to which she responded “That’s all fine, well, and good – but that’s a violation of my First Amendment rights.”

The mayor, taking on the role of a tinpot dictator, responded with a warning to Massie that she would be escorted from the property if she dared continue to speak out.

“Do you want to be escorted out of here, or are you gonna stop talking?”  He threatened.

The argument continued to escalate, as the mayor dismissed the citizen’s concerns regarding city policy, leading to a police officer being ordered by the mayor to escort the woman out of the building for trespassing.

“In front of my 10-year-old daughter, you’re gonna escort me out for expressing my First Amendment rights?” Massie asked, to which Hall callously responded, “She can go with you.”

According to court records, Massie received a citation for criminal trespassing.

This incident raises serious concerns about the policies that govern public discourse within our government institutions. The actions taken against Rebekah Massie highlight a troubling trend of silencing dissent and discouraging citizens from voicing legitimate concerns regarding their elected officials.

Free speech is the cornerstone of our democratic processes which are the foundation of our constitutional republic. Our first amendment rights are essential for holding the government accountable and ensuring that the voices of the people are heard. When policies are enforced that stifle discussion or penalize citizens for speaking out, we erode the very foundations of our society.

Open dialogue is crucial for fostering transparency and responsiveness in government, and it is imperative that citizens feel safe and empowered to express their opinions without fear of retribution.

The experience of Massie, especially in the presence of her young daughter, serves as a somber reminder that free speech is currently under threat in this country. Not only have U.S. citizens been battling censorship online with Big Tech, the government is also openly using policy to criminalize public speech that they don’t like.
