Key Ukrainian Stronghold of Ugledar About To Fall, After ‘The Fortress’ Resisted Russian Advances for Two and a Half Years
September 26, 2024

The orange areas have been conquered by Russian Federation troops.

If one is following the war in Ukraine just by browsing some of the more optimistic headlines from the Mockingbird Media, they may not realize just how dire the situation for the defenders has become in almost all areas of the frontline, particularly in the vital Donetsk oblast.

Sure enough, Kiev has managed some good PR stunts, both by making an incursion into Russian territory in the Kursk region and by blowing up a large munitions deposit that wielded spectacular images.

But of course, the Kursk adventure is strategically meaningless, and Russia blows up dozens of munitions deposits every month – and produces much more military supplies than Ukraine, the US, and the EU together.

And while Kiev is busy chasing PR victories, the Russian Federation troops have been relentlessly advancing all over the 700-mile-long frontline.

By now, the outmanned, outgunned, and outmaneuvered defenders are heading for catastrophe, as the low morale and rampant desertions, plus low-quality conscripts by force are no match for the prowess of the Moscow attackers.

This week, Russian forces have finally entered the heavily fortified town of Ugledar (Vuhledar in Ukrainian).

Situated in the southeastern part of the Donetsk region, the ‘fortress’ is now threatened with encirclement.

Euronews reported:

“Russian forces have reached the outskirts of [Ugledar] in the Donetsk region and might now be threatening the town from three sides amid what appears to be an intensified offensive push.

After repeated assaults for two and a half years since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russian forces have now made gains and will probably continue to pressure on this heavily defended part of the line over the next week, the UK Defense Ministry said.”

It is only fair to say that Ukrainians are putting up a gallant defense: in Chasov Yar, Volchansk, Pokrovsk, Toresk etc.

But Russians play the ‘death of a thousand cuts’ game; they nibble at a myriad of points, so that Ukrainian reserves are exhausted by running to and fro.

Over the past few days, Russian troops have appeared to have significantly stepped up the assault on the Ugledar direction.

Information from both sides now suggest that the stronghold is near encirclement, and in fact some defenders have started to ‘silently’ retreat.

Geolocated footage show Russian forces breaking into eastern [Ugledar] and advancing there.

“They are also pushing on [Ugledar]’s northeastern flank via Vodyane and southwestern flank via Prechystivka, likely in an effort to encircle the Ukrainian grouping in [Ugledar] and force it to withdraw.”

Crowd-sourced (and pro Ukraine) monitoring website DeepState said Russian forces were ‘simply razing it to the ground’ with artillery and guided bombs.

“Located 50 kilometers south of Pokrovsk, [Ugledar], the strategic roadway junction and logistics hub, is often called a fortress. It has been holding on for two and a half years since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion.

There are concerns over the possible consequences of the loss of Vulhedar, specifically on how it could pose a threat to the southern flank of Pokrovsk — a priority target for the Russian army in the Donetsk region.”

As it always happens before Russia takes a town or city, Globalists are beginning to downplay the importance of the locality – we saw that in Mariupol, Bakhmut and others – they immediately proclaim it to be a ‘meaningless pile of rubble’.

Now, the US think tank ISW argues that Russia’s potential seizure of [Ugledar] is ‘unlikely to fundamentally alter the course of offensive operations in this area’, saying that [Ugledar] ‘is not a particularly crucial logistics node’.

Yeah, right…

Federal agents stormed Gracie Mansion—the official residence of New York City Mayor Eric Adams—early Thursday morning, executing a search warrant connected to a looming corruption indictment.

The New York Times reported that the raid occurred at approximately 6 a.m. on Thursday.

Reports suggest that Adams faces multiple charges, including allegations of acting as an unregistered foreign agent, following suspicions that his campaign received illicit foreign contributions in exchange for favorable political actions.

While the full details of the indictment remain sealed, insiders hint that the Southern District of New York is preparing to drop a bombshell case that could end Adams’ political career.

The raid comes in the wake of widespread criticism over Adams’ handling of New York City’s mounting issues—rising crime, homelessness, and a crumbling infrastructure have plagued his administration. But now, corruption allegations may prove to be the final nail in the coffin for his already faltering leadership.

Alex Spiro, the high-profile attorney representing Mayor Adams, wasted no time attacking the raid, labeling it a “spectacle.”

In a blistering statement, Spiro condemned federal agents for their heavy-handed approach, stating, “They send a dozen agents to pick up a phone when we would have happily turned it in.” He further added that Adams had not yet been arrested and “looks forward to his day in court.”

WATCH:

U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Damian Williams, is scheduled to announce the specifics of the indictment in a while.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams has been indicted by a federal grand jury on criminal charges.

Here is a timeline of events in the federal investigation into Mayor Eric Adams and his inner circle via ABC 7 NY:

    • November 2, 2023 – The FBI launches a major investigation into Mayor Eric Adams’ 2021 campaign, starting with a search of key figures’ homes. Federal agents search the Brooklyn residence of Brianna Suggs, a top fundraiser for Adams, and the New Jersey home of Rana Abbasova, the mayor’s international affairs aide. That same day, Adams flies to Washington, D.C., only to abruptly return to New York, canceling meetings scheduled with the White House.
    • November 6, 2023 – Mayor Adams faces direct scrutiny as the FBI seizes his personal electronic devices, including his iPad and cell phone. Sources indicate that investigators are looking into whether Adams’ campaign received illegal foreign donations from Turkey.
    • February 29, 2024 – The FBI continues its investigation, this time focusing on Winnie Greco, Adams’ Director of Asian Affairs. Federal agents search her Bronx home as part of the ongoing probe.
    • April 5, 2024 – The FBI is investigating whether Mayor Adams received free upgrades on Turkish Airlines flights during his 2021 mayoral campaign,
    • July 2024 – The federal investigation heats up, with grand jury subpoenas issued to Adams in what sources describe as a corruption probe. Prosecutors are reportedly looking into whether the mayor’s campaign pressured the fire department to expedite inspections of the new Turkish consulate in exchange for donations from Turkey.
    • September 4, 2024 – The investigation reaches Adams’ inner circle. FBI agents search the homes of First Deputy Mayor Sheena Wright and her fiancé, Schools Chancellor David Banks, who had his phones seized. They also search the Queens home of Deputy Mayor for Public Safety Phil Banks, along with business consultant Terence Banks, confiscating various electronic devices.
    • September 5, 2024 – Four high-ranking NYPD officials, including NYPD Commissioner Edward Caban and his twin brother James Caban, are subpoenaed by federal investigators. Tim Pearson, a close advisor to Mayor Adams, also has his phone seized.
    • September 12, 2024 – Commissioner Caban resigns, citing the ongoing investigations as a “distraction” to the city’s work. His departure signals further fallout from the expanding probe.
    • September 14, 2024 – Lisa Zornberg, Chief Counsel at City Hall, resigns after advising Mayor Adams on legal strategy for over a year. In a brief letter, Zornberg states she can no longer serve effectively in her role, raising questions about the legal stability surrounding the Adams administration.
    • September 16, 2024 – The FBI arrests two retired FDNY chiefs, Brian Cordasco and Anthony Saccavino, as part of a year-long corruption investigation connected to the probe into Mayor Adams’ administration.
    • September 20, 2024 – Federal prosecutors issue a subpoena to Molly Schaeffer, the director overseeing New York City’s Office for Asylum Seekers, further expanding the scope of the investigation into City Hall operations.
    • September 21, 2024 – Federal agents search the home of Interim NYPD Commissioner Thomas Donlon. Though Donlon claims the search is unrelated to the police department, its timing raises eyebrows.
    • September 23, 2024 – New York City Health Commissioner Ashwin Vasan announces his resignation, effective by January 2025. Vasan insists his decision is to spend more time with family and denies any connection to the federal investigation.
    • September 24, 2024 – Another major figure steps down as New York City Schools Chancellor David Banks announces his retirement, adding to the growing list of high-level resignations amid the ongoing probe.
    • September 24, 2024 – The FBI expanded its investigation into possible illegal foreign donations, focusing on Adams’ suspicious connections with at least six foreign countries, including Turkey, Israel, China, Qatar, South Korea, and Uzbekistan.
    • September 25, 2024 – Mayor Eric Adams is indicted by a grand jury in the federal corruption investigation, marking a pivotal moment in the probe that has rocked his administration.

After Outrage, Wake Forest University Cancels October 7 Event Featuring Anti-Jewish Hamas Cheerleader

Wake Forest University, a private university located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, planned to host an event on October 7, 2024, featuring Rabab Abdulhadi, a professor at San Francisco State University and anti-Israel Hamas cheerleader, entitled “One Year since al-Aqsa Flood: Reflections on a Year of Genocide and Resistance.”

Abdulhadi is a co-founder of the anti-Israel Institute for the Critical Study of Zionism, an organization that tried to bring U.S.-designated terrorist organization Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) member Leila Khaled to speak to her students.

Khaled was one of the hijackers on TWA Flight 840 from Rome to Tel Aviv in 1969 and on El Al Flight 219 in 1970 from Amsterdam to New York City.

Wake Forest students on the Hillel and Chabad student executive boards created an online petition expressing outrage at allowing an apologist for terrorists to speak on the anniversary of the October 7 terror attacks on Israeli civilians.

From the petition:

We, the undersigned members of the Wake Forest University community, are writing to express our strong concern and opposition to the event scheduled for October 7th with speaker Rabab Abdulhadi, a self-proclaimed Hamas sympathizer. Abdulhadi is a San Francisco State University professor who has publicly threatened Jewish students and has had similar events canceled due to violations of Zoom’s, YouTube’s, and Facebook’s terms of service. She has also publicly supported and celebrated terrorists, some of whom are on the FBI Watchlist, as well as spreading blood libels about Jews. The event, titled “One Year since al-Aqsa Flood: Reflections on a Year of Genocide and Resistance,” refers to the mission carried out by Hamas on October 7th, resulting in the most significant loss of Jewish life in a single day since the Holocaust. The title equates the murder, rape, and kidnapping of innocent Jewish and Arab life on October 7th to resistance.

While we strongly support free speech on campus, we believe that hosting a speaker who promotes terrorism and espouses hate speech against Jewish students is a failure to protect all members of the Wake Forest community. Choosing to host this event on October 7th fosters a hostile environment and detracts from the importance of allowing students to feel safe while mourning the anniversary of these atrocious attacks.

The University has now announced that Abdulhadi will NOT be speaking at the university on October 7th.

An email sent from Wake Forest President Susan R. Wente and Provost Michele Gillespie reads in part:

We recognize that this date is significant for many reasons and to many different members of our community, our country, and people around the world. We empathize with the emotions felt by many Wake Foresters as the date approaches, including those who lost friends, family members and colleagues on October 7, 2023.

We have also made the conscious decision not to host events on this day that are inherently contentious and stand to stoke division in our campus community. Thus, we have informed the academic units sponsoring Dr. Rabab Abdulhadi’s campus lecture on October 7 that it cannot take place.

‘Something Serious Afoot’: US Judge’s ‘Suspicious’ Prince Harry Visa Ruling Triggers Backlash
September 26, 2024

The conservative Heritage Foundation isn’t giving up on its battle to learn whether the U.K.’s Prince Harry got preferential treatment when being approved for a visa to live in the United States.

The group is considering an appeal of a judge’s ruling Monday that the Duke of Sussex, who has made millions publishing a memoir about the most intimate details of his life, can keep his visa application under wraps because of his right to “privacy.”

“The Prince Harry scandal just got a lot more suspicious,” Mike Howell, executive director of the Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project, said in a statement published to the social media platform X.

Howell cited parts of U.S. District Judge Carl J. Nichols’ ruling that redacted crucial details of Harry’s visa application as grounds to suspect the prince got preferential treatment from the U.S. government.

Nichols was appointed in 2019 by then-President Donald Trump.

His ruling has sparked a backlash from Heritage that shows the public battle isn’t disappearing any time soon.

“While our case is far from over as we explore appeal, I’d say that these very curious redactions point to something serious afoot,” Howell’s statement said.

Harry and his wife, the former actress Meghan Markle, moved to the U.S. in 2020 after stepping back from being active members of Britain’s royal family — and amid a rancorous relationship with that royal family that apparently hasn’t gotten any better.

It isn’t clear what kind of visa Harry obtained from the U.S. government, according to The Washington Post. His wife is an American citizen.

The Heritage Foundation sued the Department of Homeland Security in 2023 to make public details of Harry’s visa application.

In the lawsuit, the group contended that disclosures about drug use Harry made in his bestselling memoir “Spare” could have made him ineligible for legal residency in the U.S.

It also contended Harry has waived any rights to “privacy” by his own very public actions.

“To be sure, even public figures have privacy interests,” the lawsuit stated. “This is particularly so as regards the aspects of their life that are not implicated by their public status and which they take steps to separate from their public life and keep confidential.

“The Duke of Sussex, however, has made the affirmative choice to put almost every aspect of his life on display — including those aspects traditionally kept private by public figures. In so doing, he has publicized not only his own most personal and private moments, but also those of HM the King, HRH The Prince and Princess of Wales, and the late HM the Queen. Moreover, these revelations have been made explicitly for massive commercial gain.” (Italics in the original.)

The lawsuit is an attempt “to force the Biden administration to publish his application to determine whether Harry lied or was granted preferential treatment because of his royal status,” Newsweek magazine’s chief royal correspondent Jack Royston wrote.

In his statement, Howell said it was a simple matter of fairness.

“Americans deserve an immigration system with both secure borders and also fairly applied rules for high-profile immigrants like Harry,” the statement said.

“It certainly appears that Harry was given special treatment and now we know it’s for something so serious that it involves extensive redactions.”

In one curious passage cited by the Oversight Project, Nichols’ ruling stated:

“In particular, the summary judgment record reflects that the Duke has never disclosed publicly (among other things) the following facts,” with the “facts” blacked out.

The next legible sentence stated: “That is the ‘type of information that a person would ordinarily not wish to make known about himself’ and therefore the government has demonstrated that the Duke retains a privacy interest in these records.”

Howell’s statement ended with a vow that the truth will come out — and included a snide reference to Harry’s wife and the controversial couple’s notorious attempts to monetize their own celebrity.

“Americans will know the full story soon enough. Perhaps Mr. and Mrs. Markle will tell us what’s beneath the redactions on their next Netflix special,” the statement said.
