The Biden regime is letting the people responsible for orchestrating 9/11 escape true justice.

The New York Post reported this morning that a military appeals court Monday night ruled against Defense Secretary Austin’s order this summer wiping out plea deals reached with 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammad, Walid bin Attash, and Mustafa al-Hawsawi. The three-judge panel upheld a lower court ruling that Austin’s order came too late and he had no authority to issue it.

“We agree with the military judge that the secretary did not have authority to revoke respondents’ existing PTAs because the respondents had started performance of the PTAs,” the panel said.

Mohammad and his cronies are expected to plead guilty in a court hearing next week. The New York Post notes that while Austin can appeal the decision, it is unclear whether he will.

The terrorists’ defense attorneys successfully argued Austin lacked the authority to overturn the sweetheart agreement because the top authority of the Guantanamo Bay courts had already approved it.

They also stated that Austin’s order was unconstitutional.

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, three September 11 masterminds reached plea deals with the US government to spare them the death penalty while they were awaiting trial in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. They agreed to plead guilty to war crimes as part of their agreement.

As the Post notes, the agreements were signed by Pentagon official Susan K. Escallier, whom Austin appointed to be in charge of military commissions.

Austin, though, pulled the deal after the Biden regime came under mounting pressure from various political factions and advocacy groups who argued that any leniency shown to those involved in the 9/11 attacks undermines justice for the nearly 3,000 victims and their families.

“I have determined that, in light of the significance of the decision to enter into pre-trial agreements with the accused in the above-referenced case, responsibility for such a decision should rest with me as the superior convening authority under the Military Commissions Act of 2009,” Austin wrote in an order.

“Effective immediately, I hereby withdraw your authority in the above-referenced case to enter into a pre-trial agreement and reserve such authority to myself. Effective immediately, in the exercise of my authority, I hereby withdraw from the three pre-trial agreements that you signed on July 31, 2024, in the above-referenced case,” he added.

But his efforts came too late, and now American taxpayers will pay the price.

BREAKING: Woman Burned to Death by Illegal Alien on NYC Subway Identified

BREAKING: Woman Burned to Death by Illegal Alien on NYC Subway Identified
December 31, 2024

The woman killed after being set ablaze by an illegal alien on a New York City subway has finally been identified.

The burn victim was identified as 61-year-old Debrina Kawam.

Kawam was linked to an address in Toms River, New Jersey, but she was described as homeless.

It took investigators more than a week to identify the victim using fingerprints because her burns were so severe.

The New York Post reported:

Cops have identified the woman who was lit on fire as she slept and then burned to death on a Brooklyn subway train while terrified straphangers watched in horror, law enforcement sources said Tuesday.

Debrina Kawam, 61, was identified using fingerprints.

Kawam, who had a listed address of Toms River, New Jersey, was sleeping on an F train at the Stillwell Avenue-Coney Island station in Brooklyn around 7:30 a.m. Dec. 22 when she was set on fire. Illegal Guatemalan immigrant Sebastian Zapeta-Calil is facing first-degree murder charges in the sick attack.

Horrifying video footage shows the accused killer fanning the flames as the woman burned — and calmly watching the scorched victim from a bench on the platform.

A source told The Post she was alive when she was set on fire, with a walker and several bags nearby.

The city medical examiner struggled to identify the body because it was so severely burned in the attack, sources previously said.

The Guatemalan who burned Kawam to death on a New York City subway is an illegal alien who was previously deported by the Trump Administration in June 2018.

The Guatemalan illegal, Sebastian Zapeta, crossed into the US in Arizona on June 1, 2018 and was deported a few days later on June 7, 2018.

Zapeta then reentered the US illegally as a ‘gotaway’ at an unknown time and location and roamed around freely thanks to Joe Biden.

The Gateway Pundit reported last Sunday that Kawam was fatally lit on fire aboard a stationary F train at Brooklyn’s Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue subway station.

The attack occurred around 7:30 a.m. when the suspect, without any prior interaction, approached Kawam—who appeared to be sleeping—and ignited her clothing using a lighter.

Police believe that the man was sitting across from her on the train while she was napping and that he got up and tossed a lit match at her.

“Liquor bottles were laying around the victim, though it wasn’t clear if they played any part in the blaze,” the Post report adds.

Adding to the outrage, a transit police officer is seen walking past the burning woman, appearing to speak on a radio but continuing down the platform without rendering immediate assistance or attempting to apprehend the perpetrator.

Reminder: You’ll Need Federal Government ‘Real ID’ if You Want to Fly in 2025

Reminder: You’ll Need Federal Government ‘Real ID’ if You Want to Fly in 2025

Reminder: You’ll Need Federal Government ‘Real ID’ if You Want to Fly in 2025
December 31, 2024

It’s Dec. 31, and we’re all busy contemplating just what lies ahead in 2025. Some of the changes will be predictable. For instance, we will have a president who will know he’s president starting on Jan. 20.

Some of the changes, however, aren’t as heavily advertised as others — and one of them might not be as welcome as you’d like, particularly if you don’t have a so-called “Real ID.”

You’ve probably forgotten about the “Real ID.” Back in 2005 — four years after 9/11 — Congress passed an act requiring new federal standards for identification, both making the cards more secure and harder to obtain.

Real ID requirements were supposed to go into effect on May 11, 2008. For perspective, that’s the day when the first movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, “Iron Man,” completed its first weekend at the box office in No. 1, and people born on that date will be graduating high school in the next year or two.

And yet, Real ID still hasn’t been implemented due to the challenges inherent in switching over the system. That’ll change this coming May, as news service Nexstar noted in a Sunday article.

“Come early May, you will need a REAL ID-compliant ID (which you may already have) to board a domestic flight. It will also be necessary if you are visiting certain federal facilities or entering a nuclear power plant,” the service reported.

“Once the REAL ID requirement kicks in, federal agencies like TSA will be prohibited from accepting state-issued IDs that do not meet the necessary standards.”

At this point, they noted, “all states must at least require proof of your legal name, date of birth, Social Security number, legal residency, and two forms verifying your address before issuing a driver’s license or ID card.”

“Thankfully, many states have been issuing REAL ID-compliant IDs for years, which means there is a good chance you already have one. The quickest way to tell is by looking at your driver’s license or state-issued ID: if there is a star — it will be either black or gold, appear as a star or a cutout — your ID is a REAL ID.”

If you opt out of the program, you’ll be issued a license with “Federal Limits Apply” on it.

“As of the end of December, the REAL ID rules will take effect on May 7, 2025. Once the deadline passes, if you do not have a REAL ID, you may need to provide another form of identification, like a U.S. passport or military ID, to board a plane,” Nexstar noted.

If this sounds all well and good for you, consider the case of David O’Connor — a U.S. military vet who went to apply for a Real ID and ended up losing both his driver’s license and his citizenship earlier this year.

O’Connor, a former commercial truck driver in several states, including his current home in Tennessee, went in to convert his license. However, Tennessee’s requirements include “Official Birth Certificate issued by a U.S. state, jurisdiction or territory (Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Northern Mariana Islands, American Samoa, Swain’s Island, Guam),” “U.S. Government-issued Certified Birth Certificate,” “U.S. Certificate of Birth Abroad (DS-1350 or FS-545)” or “Valid, unexpired U.S. Passport.”

That was the problem — O’Connor was born in Canada to American citizens and, despite, the fact that he had lived in the United States for seven decades and been driving in it for 61 years, he’d basically been told he was a non-citizen who couldn’t drive.

“They told me I shouldn’t have had the license in the first place ’cause I couldn’t prove that I was a citizen,” O’Connor told WTVF-TV.

“They said, ‘No, that’s no good. We shouldn’t have given you the license in the first place,’” he said. “And they just canceled my license right then and there.”

“I’ve been here for 77 years,” O’Connor said, telling the station, “None of this [situation] makes any sense to me.”

After pressure from WTVF’s reporting and the threat of a federal lawsuit, O’Connor got his license a little while later.

David O’Connor’s case may be an outlier — an American citizen whose parents didn’t apply for a Certificate of Birth Abroad and was thus left in limbo despite the fact he had a Social Security card. The fact is, once May approaches and those of us who need Real IDs don’t have them, we’re going to get a response like Tennessee Homeland Security Secretary Jeff Long gave after WTVF’s initial report about O’Connor’s Catch-22.

“I can understand that, but everyone has to realize that after 9/11, the Real ID is very specific and has a federal requirement of what you have to have,” he said.

Of course, as we approach a quarter of a century since 9/11, we know that federalizing ID standards is more or less pointless; the weak point in the system with those terrorist attacks was a series of missed red flags by the same team of bureaucrats we’re now entrusting to federalize what was once a state matter, the issuance of driver’s licenses.

It’s impossible to believe that legislation so unwieldy that it will be implemented only 17 years after it was supposed to has actually stopped an attack — or done anything, period, aside from create new, fresh levels of bureaucracy for people to navigate.

Perhaps this is nothing more than a waste of time and money, and I’m merely hyperventilating here. Or, perhaps the case of David O’Connor is a canary in the coal mine of what will happen come May, when cases like his start popping up with unusual frequency. Whatever the case, Real ID has already gone much worse than expected — and you don’t even need one yet.

President Trump is not letting his enemies off the hook so quickly when it comes to their disgraceful cover-up of Joe Biden’s cognitive decline for the past several years.

The 45th and soon-to-be 47th President on Monday shared an absolutely devastating nearly three-minute montage of Democrats repeatedly praising Biden’s ‘sharpness’ before they decided he was too incompetent to run for re-election and launched a coup.

The footage starts with White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre appearing indignant that someone would even dare question Biden’s mind as she speaks to Don Lemon on CNN.

“Oh my gosh! He’s the President of the United States! I can’t even keep up with him,” Jean-Pierre says. She goes on to make a few more appearances in the reel.

WATCH:

Disgraced Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Socialist Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi also defend Biden’s ‘brilliance’ in the video. Several other Democratic leaders, including Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), also slobber over Biden.

Biden’s wife Jill also makes two appearances, telling the View, “You’re gonna see how smart he is, and the experience he has.”

“I think his age is an asset,” she says in a second clip. “He’s wise, he has wisdom, he has experience.”

The montage Trump showed came a day after CBS’s Jan Crawford criticized the media for helping cover up Old Joe’s decline until it became politically inconvenient.

“Undercovered and underreported, that would be, to me, Joe Biden’s obvious cognitive decline that became undeniable in the televised debate,” she said on Face The Nation. “And it is starting to emerge now that his advisors kind of managed his limitations, which has been reported in the Wall Street Journal for four years.”

“And yet he insisted that he could still run for president,” Crawford added. “We should have much more forcefully questioned whether he was fit for office for another four years, which could have led to a primary for the Democrats.”

“It could have changed the scope of the entire election.”

Frank Pavone: Renewed Each Day: A Christian Perspective on New Year’s Resolutions

Frank Pavone: Renewed Each Day: A Christian Perspective on New Year’s Resolutions

Frank Pavone: Renewed Each Day: A Christian Perspective on New Year’s Resolutions
December 31, 2024

Guest Post by Pro-life Leader Frank Pavone, National Director, Priests for Life

A recent AP-NORC poll found that 57% of respondents said they plan on making one or more New Year’s resolutions, while 43% said they do not intend to make any.

I’m definitely in the 57% and always have been. I like New Year’s resolutions, despite the fact that I, like most others, find that around February not much has changed.

The reason I like them anyway is that there’s something very Christian about making a New Year’s resolution.

Think about it. Christ comes at Christmas, not to be born all over again in a Manger, but to be born in us. “To those who did accept him, he gave power to be children of God” (John 1:12). He brings us a whole new way of life. “The grace of God has appeared… training us to reject godless ways” (Titus 2:11).

Deeply embedded in Christian spirituality over the ages is the practice of a daily “examination of conscience.” We ask ourselves how well we’ve done. We recall our sins of the day. And then, as one version of the Act of Contrition says, we pray, “I firmly resolve, with the help of your grace, to sin no more.”

We know we’re going to sin. But we reject it, we oppose it, we fight it, we resolve. And we know it’s not about our strength, but Christ in us. Yet that doesn’t make us passive; it makes us active collaborators with his grace. Without him, we can do nothing (see Jn. 15:5), but in him all things are possible (see Phil. 4:13).

There’s an old Latin saying about the Church, “ecclesia semper reformanda” – that is, the Church always reforming. Paul tells the Corinthians, “our inner self is being renewed day by day” (2 Cor. 4:16), and that we “are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory” (2 Cor. 3:18). He writes to the Philippians, “forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus” (Phil. 3:13-14).

The examples go on and on. Christian vigilance, discipline, daily battle against evil in ourselves and in the world, are part and parcel of our calling.

New Year’s resolutions fit into this perfectly. They’re not just about diet. They’re about taking the next good, small step in virtue.

And the Biblical lesson is not that we resolve today and achieve tomorrow. It’s that we get up, fall down, and get up again – and again and again.

So go ahead, have courage, and make that resolution. One is enough. But make it and don’t be discouraged. Re-make it every day.

Happy New Year!
