Florida’s Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis has won the special primary for the state’s 1st Congressional District.

Matt Gaetz previously held the seat before he resigned to serve in President Donald Trump’s administration, for which he ultimately withdrew from being considered.

The district is extremely red. Patronis should easily win in the general election, which is scheduled for April 1.

President Donald Trump endorsed Patronis and urged him to run in the first place.

In a post on Truth Social last year, Trump wrote:

Jimmy Patronis, Chief Financial Officer for the Great State of Florida, has done a tremendous job as CFO, where he also serves as the State’s Fire Marshall, and as an important member of the Florida Cabinet. I hear that Jimmy is now considering launching a Campaign for Congress in Florida’s 1st Congressional District!

A fourth generation Floridian from the beautiful Panhandle, and owner of an iconic seafood restaurant, Jimmy has been a wonderful friend to me, and to MAGA. The Hill reports:

Patronis jumped into the race last November after Trump publicly encouraged him to run for the seat. Following Trump’s endorsement, a number of announced candidates for the seat quickly dropped out of the race and backed Patronis. However, former state Rep. Joel Rudman (R) remained in the primary.

Patronis has served as Florida’s CFO since 2017. Governor Rick Scott appointed him after the previous CFO, Jeff Atwater, resigned to take a position at Florida Atlantic University. Patronis was subsequently elected to the role in 2018 and re-elected in 2022.

Before becoming CFO, Patronis represented the 6th District in Panama City in the Florida House of Representatives from 2006 to 2014.

Patronis has also worked as a firefighter and emergency medical technician. He strongly advocates for balanced budgets, lower taxes, and reducing government spending.

Jim Acosta has announced his new career plans after dramatically leaving CNN over being demoted.

On Tuesday, Acosta announced in a post on X that he will now be going independent and blogging on Substack.

“Hey guys, it’s Jim, and let me just say this: I’ve had quite the day,” Acosta says in the video. “But as you can see, earlier today this was my last day at CNN and I did want to jump on Substack Live for a moment and say welcome to my new venture. I’m going independent, at least for now.”

Acosta went on to once again call President Donald Trump a “tyrant,” much like he did on his farewell moment on CNN.

“Don’t give in to the lies. Don’t give in to the fear. Hold on to the truth and hope. And we’ll keep this conversation going,” Acosta said in the video.

Earlier in the day, Acosta announced he was leaving CNN on his show.

“You may have seen some reports about me and this show. And after giving all of this some careful consideration and weighing an alternative time slot CNN offered me, I have decided to move on,” Acosta said.

CNN planned to move him to a midnight slot, essentially burying the once-star pundit.

“As a son of a Cuban refugee, I took home this lesson. It is never a good time to bow down to a tyrant,” Acosta said, seeming to jab at Trump.

President Trump responded to the news of Acosta leaving the network in a post on Truth Social.

“Wow, really good news! Jim Acosta, one of the worst and most dishonest reporters in journalistic history, a major sleazebag, has been relegated by CNN Fake News to the Midnight hour, “Death Valley,” because of extraordinarily BAD RATINGS (and no talent!),” Trump wrote.

“Word is that he wants to QUIT, and that would be even better,” Trump added. “Jim is a major loser who will fail no matter where he ends up. Good luck Jim!”

The billionaire philanthropist Nicole Shanahan has put the Senate on notice.

Shanahan, who was Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s presidential running mate until he dropped out of the race and endorsed Donald Trump, has urged Senators to vote to confirm him or risk facing a well-funded primary challenge.

She explained:

According to The New York Times, Shanahan has a net worth of over $1 billion as a result of their divorce proceedings.

As revealed by Alex Jones, who signed the letter twice as “Dr. Fake” and “Dr. BS,” any yahoo could sign the letter, claiming to be a doctor who opposes RFK Jr. For all we know, the group had 15,000 fake doctors signed onto their fraudulent petition.

Byron Cohen, an advisor for Interagency Research and Development Oversight in the White House Office of Pandemic Preparedness and Response Policy, told an undercover journalist that the Deep State is "real" and "there's a good chance that the bureaucracy just crushes him [RFK Jr.]."
