The horrible disease of Dysentery is on the rise in the city of Portland, Oregon. How gross.

You can probably draw a straight line between this and the city’s large homeless population and the practice of using city streets as a public restroom.

It’s an important reminder that homelessness is a multi-faceted issue, and one of the things it affects is public health.

Dysentery cases rise in Portland metro area, health department reports

Dysentery is on the rise in the Portland metro area, according to recent data released by the Multnomah County Health Department.

Also known as shigellosis, dysentery is a highly contagious bacterial disease that can cause fever, cramps, vomiting and diarrhea. It is spread very easily from person to person when someone gets fecal matter from an infected person into their mouth, health officials say.

According to the health department, two types of Shigella typically circulate in Oregon. Although both strains can cause severe diarrhea, officials are not seeing the strain which can cause more severe or fatal illness. However, they note the strains circulating in Multnomah County are resistant to several antibiotics.

Shigella cases have been rising in Multnomah County since 2012, officials said. But health department data on dysentery cases collected by the county from 2017-2024 shows a marked increase in the number of cases between 2023 and 2024. Further, January 2025 showed 40 cases reported.

The report goes on to state that almost 60 percent of recent cases are connected to the homeless population.

It doesn’t have to be this way and it’s amazing that the taxpayers of Portland put up with it. There are Third World countries that do a better job preventing the spread of common diseases.

Trust for mass media among the American people is at its lowest point in 50 years, according to new polling from Gallup.

It’s very easy to see how this happened.

The vast majority of people in media act like they are nothing more than Democrat activists. They pushed anti-Trump lies like Russia collusion and the ‘fine people on both sides’ hoax for years and have never apologized.

People like CNN’s Jake Tapper covered up Biden’s obviously declining mental state for years and is now putting out a book on the topic, as if he had nothing to do with it.

Why should anyone trust these people?

Americans’ trust in the mass media has hit the “lowest point” in more than 50 years, a recent Gallup survey revealed.

Gallup showcased the sentiments Americans have held for the last several decades in relation to how much they trust the mass media.

Shockingly, most, 68 percent, trusted the mass media either a great deal or fair amount in 1972, ticking up to 69 percent in 1974. It hit an all-time high of 72 percent in 1976.

Fast forward, and in the year 2000, trust in the mass media fell to 51 percent before dropping to 44 percent in 2004. From then on, trust has teetered back and forth but on an overall downward slope, descending to 32 percent in 2016 — notably, the year of the first presidential election with President Trump and twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

Trust ticked back up to 45 percent in 2018, but it has continually descended since then, reaching 40 percent in 2020, 36 percent in 2021, 34 percent in 2022, 32 percent in 2023, and 31 percent in 2024 — former President Biden’s last year in office.

This didn’t happen overnight and it wasn’t an accident. The media did this to themselves. Take a look at the chart below:

It’s difficult to see how they come back from this. Networks would need to do massive overhauls on policy and staff before the American people would even consider changing their minds.

Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is expanding beyond the federal government.

According to Newsmax, Republican governors and lawmakers in Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, and Wisconsin are following the lead of the federal government and set up their own efficiency taskforces aimed at cutting government waste.

Among those is Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who has set up a “DOGE task force” to audit spending, reduce bureaucracy, and eliminate any remaining diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs.

“I am requiring state agencies to utilize AI [artificial intelligence] as a way to supplement our ongoing efforts to produce streamlined and cost-effective government,” DeSantis wrote on X earlier this week.

“Federal DOGE efforts have demonstrated the power of cutting edge technology, and I look forward to Florida’s DOGE task force doing even more for taxpayers.”

Over in Texas, Republican lawmakers have established their own 13-member bipartisan Delivery of Government Efficiency, which will work to remove “inefficiencies” from across the state government. 

In Iowa, Gov. Kim Reynolds has similarly confirmed the launch of her own DOGE committee.

Her office said in a press release:

Over the last three years, Governor Reynolds has consolidated agencies with similar functions, centralized programs that served similar needs, eliminated 1,200 burdensome regulations, remade legacy systems, and cut 21 agencies from her cabinet.

In just 18 months, her efforts have saved taxpayers $217 million, already surpassing the initial projection for the first four years.

To build on this success, Governor Reynolds will issue an executive order to set up an Iowa DOGE task force to support DOGE’s efforts at the federal level and identify even more ways to reign in the cost of government at all levels.

Many other states have announced similar programs, all of which are intended to reduce waste and inefficiency in the use of public funds.

Since the federal Department of Government Efficiency was launched in January, Musk and his team have already iidentified approximately $1 trillion in potential cuts and savings.

While that money could be used towards paying down the national debt, Musk himself has expressed openness to the idea of a “DOGE Dividend” payment of $5,000 to every eligible taxpayer.

President Zelensky of Ukraine found out the hard way that a real President is back in Washington D.C.

This GP reporter was at the White House reporting for Lindell TV when Zelensky was sent packing back to Ukraine after President Trump put him in his place. There are reports he was “kicked out”.

Zelensky’s bad entitled behavior was enabled by Biden and quite frankly by Congress (both Dems and Republicans minus a brave few).

President Trump said as Zelensky left: “I have determined that President Zelenskyy is not ready for Peace if America is involved, because he feels our involvement gives him a big advantage in negotiations. I don’t want advantage, I want PEACE. He disrespected the United States of America in its cherished Oval Office. He can come back when he is ready for Peace.”

Not only was Zelensky accused of being disrespectful in the White House of the United States of America, but many believe his entitled behavior illustrates that he is ungrateful to each and every American taxpayer than was forced to pitch in to support his military when US citizens could not afford groceries or cost of living during Biden’s four years.

Plus Zelensky came disrespectfully dressed, as always. Maybe next time he can show our President some respect and put on a suit jacket when he is ready to re-evaluate his negotiation tactics.
