Another Blue City Casualty: In-N-Out Executive on Closure of Oakland, CA Location Over Rampent Violent Crime

The Gateway Pundit reported that he city of Oakland, California lost their only In-N-Out Burger restaurant due to the city’s ongoing crime problem. The restaurant is profitable, but they can’t deal with the constant armed robberies, car beak-ins, and more that victimize both employees and customers.

In April, 2024, while filming a documentary on California’s rising crime rates, conservative political commentator and YouTuber Benny Johnson and his crew were the victims of theft at the very In-N-Out location they were spotlighting.

Fox News reports that Lynsi Snyder, the heiress who runs the company, weighed in on the closure.

 “I mean, there was a lot,” Lynsi Snyder told the PragerU video network on Monday, SFGate reported. “There was actually — gunshots went through the store, there was a stabbing, there was a lot.”

“For the safety of our associates, we just felt like, this is not OK,” she added.

“Despite taking repeated steps to create safer conditions, our Customers and Associates are regularly victimized by car break-ins, property damage, theft, and armed robberies,” he said.

Snyder also said police response times were “alarming.”

Oakland’s crime problem has been well documented. Recently, they replaced traffic lights with stop signs because people were stealing the copper wire in the lights. Parts of the city look like a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

Things have gotten so bad that when the city recently tried to repair potholes, workers wouldn’t finish the job because they felt unsafe.

However, rather than focusing on the city’s deterioration, a “Reperations Committee” is focused on spending $5 million in taxpayer funds just to develop a reparations plan.
