According to reports, the Supreme Court justices “sound likely” to uphold the TikTok ban, which is scheduled to go into effect on January 19.

President-elect Donald Trump has asked the Supreme Court to delay the ban, which will begin one day before his inauguration unless it is sold to a new non-Chinese owner.

TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, has indicated it is not open to a forced sale.

On Friday, the Supreme Court heard over two hours of arguments about whether banning the app would violate Americans’ freedom of speech.

The justices, including conservative Justice Amy Coney Barrett, seemed skeptical of the claims and said, “The law doesn’t say TikTok has to shut down. It says ByteDance has to (sell TikTok).”

“It doesn’t’ say, ‘TikTok, you can’t speak,’” liberal Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson added, according to a New York Daily News report.

Conservative Justice Brett Kavanaugh appeared to accept that the ban is an effort to prevent Chinese indoctrination of young Americans.

“That seems like a huge concern for the future of the country,” Kavanaugh said.

Trump’s nominee to be solicitor general, John Sauer, filed an amicus brief with the court in December.

The brief argued, “President Trump is one of the most powerful, prolific, and influential users of social media in history.”

“Consistent with his commanding presence in this area, President Trump currently has 14.7 million followers on TikTok with whom he actively communicates, allowing him to evaluate TikTok’s importance as a unique medium for freedom of expression, including core political speech. Indeed, President Trump and his rival both used TikTok to connect with voters during the recent Presidential election campaign, with President Trump doing so much more effectively. As this Court instructs, the First Amendment’s ‘constitutional guarantee has its fullest and most urgent application precisely to the conduct of campaigns for political office.’”

The brief continued, “Furthermore, President Trump alone possesses the consummate dealmaking expertise, the electoral mandate, and the political will to negotiate a resolution to save the platform while addressing the national security concerns expressed by the Government—concerns which President Trump himself has acknowledged.”

“This Court should be deeply concerned about setting a precedent that could create a slippery slope toward global government censorship of social media speech,” Sauer wrote in the filing. “The power of a Western government to ban an entire social-media platform with more than 100 million users, at the very least, should be considered and exercised with the most extreme care—not reviewed on a ‘highly expedited basis.’”

Trump vowed to “save” the app during his presidential campaign.

The president-elect met with TikTok CEO Shou Chew at Mar-a-Lago earlier this month to discuss the matter.

“You know, I have a warm spot in my heart for TikTok because I won youth by 34 points and there are those that say that TikTok has something to do with it,” Trump said during a press conference earlier this month.

Congress passed the ban earlier this year in response to widespread opposition to Israel spreading like wildfire on the app. It was signed into law by Joe Biden in April.

TikTok has over 170 million users in the United States alone.

Two Democrat Aldermen Want Chicago’s Sanctuary Law Amended to “Protect Law-Abiding Non-Citizens”

Two Democrat Aldermen Want Chicago’s Sanctuary Law Amended to “Protect Law-Abiding Non-Citizens”
January 11, 2025

Chicago, under the weight of illegals flooding the Sanctuary City, is a disaster.

Now, two Chicago aldermen, Democrats Raymond Lopez and Silvana Tabares, have introduced legislation to roll back parts of the city’s sanctuary law.

But not for the reason one would expect, to protect Chicagoans, but rather “to protect law-abiding non-citizens.”

Lopes and Tabares want to make sure that “law-abiding illegals” (who entered the country illegally) aren’t swept up in efforts to deport those accused of other crimes.

Lopez shared the proposed amendment to Chicago’s Welcoming City Ordinance on X, calling for exceptions when a migrant has been arrested or convicted of certain criminal activities.

Lopez shared on X, “Yesterday @AldermanTabares and I filed a Rule 41 Notice for our proposed amendment to the Welcoming City Ordinance. We intend to call the matter for a floor vote next Wednesday.”

“We believe that the best way to protect law-abiding non-citizens from the returning Trump Administration is by working with them in apprehending their priority targets: non-citizens that CHOOSE to engage in dangerous, illegal activity once they are in the United States. Our current WCO prohibits any coordination or cooperation, even in the most heinous situations.”

“This policy is dangerous to those law-abiding undocumented and non-citizens residents because, if someone is arrested or convicted of crimes, the federal authorities aren’t notified. Should the federal government go looking for those specific individuals seeking to deport them, there is a high probability that other targets, law-abiding undocumented and non-citizen residents, may be apprehended and deported as collateral damage. That is an entirely unacceptable yet avoidable situation.”

“We are not concerned with the political theatrics of returning President Trump or Mayor Johnson. Our goal is to protect those that deserve our protection: those undocumented and non-citizen residents of Chicago that follow the law and contribute positively to our city while waiting for a path out of the shadows. This amendment to the WCO, which is narrow in scope and specific on when it can be activated, will keep those individuals safe while maintaining the spirit of our city’s history and immigrant traditions.”

Rep. Lauren Boebert Introduces Legislation to Abolish ATF
January 11, 2025

Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert and Missouri Rep. Eric Burlison have introduced legislation to abolish the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).

Reps. Andy Biggs, Mike Collins, Bob Onder, Andy Ogles, Mary Miller, Keith Self, and Paul Gosar co-sponsored the “Abolish the ATF Act of 2025.”

The ATF regulates firearms and has long been criticized by Republicans for its heavy-handed tactics.

Rep. Boebert introduced the bill on January 3 when Congress reconvened.

The proposed legislation is only one page long and simply states, “The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is hereby abolished.”

“I cannot imagine under any circumstance or administration where the ATF serves as an ally to the Second Amendment and law-abiding firearm owners across America. As co-chair of the Congressional Second Amendment Caucus, I’m eager to continue this effort with Rep. Burlison to defend our constitutional rights. The ATF should be abolished before they eventually abolish our Second Amendment,” Rep. Boebert said in a press release about the bill.

Rep. Burlison added, “The ATF is emblematic of the deep-state bureaucracy that believes it can infringe on constitutional liberties without consequence.”

“If this agency cannot uphold its duty to serve the people within the framework of the Constitution, it has no place in our government,” Rep. Burlison added.

Rep. Boebert has sponsored and co-sponsored previous iterations of legislation to abolish the agency.

Texas DPS with K-9 Unit. Video from 1/1/25, posted 1/10/25

Biden’s border chaos continues.

Texas DPS pursued six illegal aliens through 1.5 miles of brush with the K-9 Unit in Maverick County earlier this month.

The DPS trooper, with the K-9 named Shark, along with help from the DPS Border Mounted Patrol Unit, was able to capture all six of the illegals.

Watch:

Texas DPS uses the K-9 unit to track illegals in areas with heavy brush. The Gateway Pundit reported that last month that DPS troopers used two dogs, Shark and Bona, to cover a combined total of 16 miles to track two illegals.

Watch:

Texas DPS has worked countless hours pursuing illegals within their State largely due to the Biden regime’s intentional neglect of the southern border. Their tireless efforts have made the State of Texas a safer place to live.

Texas has been very successful in deterring illegal immigration under Operation Lone Star which was launched in 2021 under Republican Governor Greg Abbott.

The State has used the Texas DPS and the Texas National Guard to detect illegals crossing into the US as well as apprehending those already in Texas. The operation also pursues cartel members and human smugglers as well as working to stop drugs, including fentanyl, from entering the US.

Article IV, Section 4 of the United States Constitution gives the Federal Government the authority and responsibility to stop invasions. The Biden regime has intentionally left the border wide open which has resulted in an invasion of millions of illegal aliens.

“The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.” Article IV, Section 4 of the US Constitution.

President Trump has made a commitment to seal the border on the first day of taking office as the 47th President of the United States on January 20th.
