Bill Maher on CNN: ‘I Don’t Think History is Going to Treat Joe Biden Kindly’ (VIDEO)
January 11, 2025

Liberal talk host Bill Maher appeared on CNN this weekend and told Jake Tapper that he doesn’t think history will be kind to Joe Biden.

Maher’s criticism stems mainly from Joe Biden’s decision to run for a second term before ultimately bowing out. Maher compares Biden to late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who was hailed as a hero by the left until she died during Trump’s first term, giving him the opportunity to name her replacement.

While Maher is likely right about Joe Biden and history, his criticism is solely about what Biden has done to the Democrat party. Biden will not be treated kindly by history for a whole slew of things that he did as president, not just for what he did to Democrats.

Transcript via Real Clear Politics:

TAPPER: So I’m writing an election book, and one of the things I just stumbled on was a monologue you gave in October 2023 in which you warned the Democratic Party of Ruth Bader Biden. You were saying the American people think he’s too old. You’re too you’re worried about this.

You had a great line about it doesn’t matter if he’s a national treasure and has done great things. If you got on an airplane and you heard that Buzz Aldrin was the pilot, you’d get off. I’m sorry for botching.

You’re a very funny joke. But they didn’t listen to you. But you were proven correct.

MAHER: Yeah. And I felt I had standing to make that case because I had for so many years been the only person I know on television who was consistently railing against ageism. I have been saying for years ageism is the last allowable prejudice that we can have in this country.

You can always do the age jokes. You can always rail on people for being too old. And it was, as I said, a case by case basis.

Some people at 70 are act like they’re 100 years old and some people are like 40 year olds. But this was a case, OK, where Biden was too old. Having made that case that it’s a case by case basis, I was now saying, yes, some of those cases are that the person just is too old for the job.

And he was going to be much like Ruth Bader Ginsburg, someone who was seen in history as one who stayed out, stayed at the fair too long and cost his party dearly. And he did. And, you know, I don’t think history is going to treat Joe Biden kindly for doing that.

This video is cued to start at the 2:12 mark, just press play:

Maher is taking a slightly more agnostic approach to Trump in his second term, but still remains highly critical of him. At the very least, Maher has become very critical of the radical left in recent years as well.

California Congresswoman Maxine Waters appeared on NewsNation this week to talk about the devastating fires in her state.

Waters, who never missed an opportunity to be politically toxic during Trump’s first term, has been conspicuously quiet since the 2024 election. During her appearance with Chris Cuomo, she claimed that she did not want to talk about Democrat vs. Republican. Cuomo correctly points out to her that politics is involved here because California’s governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles mayor Karen Bass are both Democrats.

Waters then pivots to the victims of the fires and suggests that some of California’s richest people, the one percent, are not paying their ‘fair share’ in taxes. California has the highest taxes in the country.

From Breitbart News:

“The first thing we’ve got to understand is, services cost money and we should be willing to get the richest people in this country, the richest 1% that is protected, make sure they pay their fair taxes so that we can have the money to provide the services. With that money and with those resources, the people who have been selected or elected to do the job should do the job.

I don’t care who it is. It could be Democrat, it could be Republican, it could be whatever. But the fact of the matter is, we all should have heavy hearts right now, but we should have faith and we should be on point by making sure that we do everything to help the people that need us. Dammit, you can do the politics later. You can come and talk about Gavin Newsom later. You can talk about the Democrats later.”

See the video below:

Actress and filmmaker Justine Bateman responded to this with anger:

You can see the entire segment below:

It’s amazing that Waters would use a time like this to push the far left talking point that the rich don’t pay their fair share in taxes. Frankly, every taxpayer in California should be outraged right now.

Sports Anchor Busted Live on Primetime Show as Camera Catches Forgotten Image on Screen Behind Him

Sports Anchor Busted Live on Primetime Show as Camera Catches Forgotten Image on Screen Behind Him
January 11, 2025

Any career that unfolds in the public eye has its share of regular hazards.

After all, it only takes one mental lapse for an unfathomably humiliating mistake to plague you for years thereafter.

Sports anchor Jake Gadon of KOVR in Sacramento, California, did not commit an error that rose to quite that level of embarrassment, but he did attract attention on the social media platform X for all the wrong reasons.

Earlier this week, during a spot for “Primetime Sacramento” on KMAX-TV — KOVR’s sister station in The Golden State’s capital city — Gadon, seated in a swiveling office chair, discussed the Las Vegas Raiders’ recent decision to fire head coach Antonio Pierce.

It sounded like any other sports report from a local television station. But it did not look that way.

An advertisement featuring musical star Rihanna appeared on the second of two computer screens behind Gadon. The ad, which showed the singer modeling red lingerie, took up much of the screen.

According to People Magazine, Rihanna modeled a new Valentine’s Day offering from her own lingerie brand, Savage X Fenty.

California-based freelance journalist Matthew Keys called attention to the racy ad on Gadon’s computer.

“Hey, @JakeGadon_TV, what, uh, what kind of sports research were you doing there, buddy?” Keys wrote on X.

WARNING: The following post contains images that may be offensive to some readers.

Of course, the mere appearance of Rihanna’s racy ad on the computer screen hardly qualifies as an indictment of Gadon.

For one thing, the sports writer sat in front of two different computer screens. Who knows which one he actually used?

Moreover, how much embarrassment should Gadon really feel for viewing an ad that also appeared in People Magazine?

After all, given the modern world’s prevailing attitudes toward modesty, Gadon or anyone in his position might not even have noticed the ad as he scrolled down what looked like a social media page.

Indeed, the ubiquitousness of such ads, as well as our diminished sensitivity to them, might constitute the bigger story here.

Furthermore, assuming that Gadon looked at the ad, or even assuming that he lingered over it for longer a few seconds, one can scarcely believe that an otherwise seemingly unoffensive local sports anchor will suddenly acquire an embarrassing reputation for lecherousness.

Embarrassment, properly affixed and thus properly relished by the public, rightly belongs to establishment politicians and those who enable them.

For instance, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell of California have each committed public gaffes of a very peculiar kind. As a result, one now associates their names with flatulence.

Likewise, recall that in October 2020 CNN chief legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin exposed himself on a Zoom call with colleagues.

According to CNN, Toobin returned to the network eight months later after going through therapy.

Thus, perhaps Gadon might have paid a bit closer attention to the computer screen.

One senses, however, that when it comes to rendering oneself a proper object of mockery, Gadon’s incident will hardly rise to the level of Toobin’s or even to that of the Democratic lawmakers.

Palisades fire burns a home in Brentwood, California (not a photo of Kamala Harris’ home)

The Palisades wildfire actively burning in the Los Angeles area reached California’s Brentwood neighborhood, where Kamala Harris owns a home, on Saturday.

The Palisades Fire, which broke out on Tuesday, is the largest fire across Los Angeles County and has already wiped out more than 22,000 acres in Pacific Palisades and Malibu. It has become the most devastating wildfire in Los Angeles history.

Combined, the fires have reportedly destroyed over 37,000 acres and at least 12,000 structures.

At least eleven have died, but officials still do not know the actual number. According to Fox 11, at least 13 individuals have been reported missing.

More via Fox 11:

Earlier this week, Harris’s press secretary, Ernie Apreza, said in an X post that Harris’ neighborhood was placed under an evacuation order, and nobody was at the home at the time.

Last night, the Vice President’s neighborhood in Los Angeles was put under an evacuation order. No one was in her home at the time. She and the Second Gentleman are praying for the safety of their fellow Californians, the heroic first responders, and Secret Service personnel,” he said.

As The Gateway Pundit reported on Saturday, new evacuations were underway Friday night as the wildfires in Los Angeles spread further toward Downtown Los Angeles.

Ari, a Los Angeles local, told The Gateway Pundit he expects the fire to “rip through Bel Air” if it makes it over the 405 freeway corridor. The blaze made its way east from the Mandeville Canyon area of Brentwood and “ironically, toward Kamala Harris’ Brentwood house” on Friday night, said Ari.

Ironically, this comes after Joe Biden made a sick joke, telling Harris, “Fire away! No pun intended!” during a briefing on the fires Thursday.

NBA player Lebron James, actor and former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, and other celebrities also live in the area.

"I pray this nightmare ends soon! So many prayers," Lebron posted on Saturday night.
