Brazil’s socialist regime has indicted former president Jair Bolsonaro on trumped-up political charges aimed at destroying the country’s conservative movement.

After a two-year-long investigation, federal police confirmed on Thursday that they had submitted a 700-page indictment against Bolsonaro and 35 of his allies over what they called a coordinated attempt to “violently dismantle the constitutional state.”

The police said in a statement that they had “found the existence of a criminal organization that acted in a coordinated manner in 2022 in an attempt to keep the then president of the republic in power.”

The charges will now be reviewed by the Supreme Court and its Judge Alexandre de Moraes, who was previously responsible for banning the X platform across the country of 200 million people.

Bolsonaro responded to the charges in a post on the X platform. He wrote:

•Jair Bolsonaro spoke out after being indicted by the Federal Police (PF) for alleged involvement in planning a coup d’état following Lula’s victory in 2022. In a phone conversation with the Paulo Cappelli column, the former president focused his criticism on Minister Alexandre de Moraes, who is overseeing the case in the Supreme Federal Court (STF).

•“Minister Alexandre de Moraes conducts the entire investigation, adjusts testimonies, detains without charges, engages in evidence fishing, and has a very creative advisory team. He does everything the law doesn’t permit,” criticized Bolsonaro.

•“We need to see what’s in this PF indictment. I’ll wait for the lawyer. This will obviously go to the Attorney General’s Office. The fight begins at the PGR. I can’t expect anything from a team that uses creativity to indict me,” the former president concluded.

•Jair Bolsonaro and 36 others were indicted by the Federal Police on Thursday (11/21) for alleged involvement in planning a coup d’état. On Wednesday, the PF conducted an operation that arrested six military personnel accused of planning the assassination of President Lula and Minister Alexandre de Moraes.

•The PF revealed that one of the military personnel approached the vicinity of Moraes’ house with the intent of arresting the magistrate.

•Bolsonaro’s reference to the term “creativity” is an allusion to a message from Airton Vieira, a judge advisor in Moraes’ office, to Eduardo Tagliaferro, who was then head of the Special Advisory Office for Combating Disinformation at the Superior Electoral Court.

•“Use your creativity lol,” wrote Vieira in response to Tagliaferro’s difficulty in formalizing a complaint against the magazine Oeste.

Such political persecution against a former president is eerily similar to the one that took place in the United States against Donald Trump and his supporters, including the raiding of his home.

And, as reported extensively by The Gateway Pundit at the time, Brazil’s 2022 presidential election was similarly marred by evidence of widespread voter fraud and the use of voting machines to hand victory to the socialist candidate Lula Inacio da Silva.

Since being turfed out of office in 2023, Bolsonaro has already been subject to vicious political attacks.

Last year, he was banned from running for political office for eight years after arguing, claiming that electronic ballots used in the election were vulnerable to hacking and manipulation. He is currently seeking to overturn that ruling.

While the future may remain uncertain for Bolsonaro, it is clear that his political movement is as strong as ever.

With fresh presidential elections scheduled for 2026, conservatives in America and around the world should do all they can to show solidarity with the Brazilian people.
