BREAKING: Justin Trudeau Caves to President Trump on Tariff Showdown – Will Implement Massive Border Plan to Stop Flow of Fentanyl

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has blinked in his showdown with President Trump over tariffs in yet another win for the man who wrote “The Art of the Deal.”

As The Gateway Pundit reported earlier today, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum agreed to supply 10,000 Mexican soldiers on the border to stop the flow of fentanyl and illegal aliens. Now, it is Canada’s turn.

Trudeau announced a short time ago that he will implement their own massive border plan to stop fentanyl, which has killed perhaps millions of Americans. Like Mexico, this includes 10,000 frontline personnel but also so much more. In the meantime, tariffs will be delayed.

This all comes after Trudeau threatened to impose his own tariffs on America, particularly targeting red states. What a pushover.

“I just had a good call with President Trump. Canada is implementing our $1.3 billion border plan — reinforcing the border with new choppers, technology and personnel, enhanced coordination with our American partners, and increased resources to stop the flow of fentanyl,” Trudeau wrote. “Nearly 10,000 frontline personnel are and will be working on protecting the border.”

“In addition, Canada is making new commitments to appoint a Fentanyl Czar, we will list cartels as terrorists, ensure 24/7 eyes on the border, launch a Canada- U.S. Joint Strike Force to combat organized crime, fentanyl and money laundering,” he added. “I have also signed a new intelligence directive on organized crime and fentanyl and we will be backing it with $200 million.”

“Proposed tariffs will be paused for at least 30 days while we work together.”

This news has come after Trump imposed tariffs on Canada, Mexico, and China on Saturday after they had ignored his threats under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act.

Here is what was included:

25% tariffs on all Mexico imports
25% tariffs on nearly all Canadian imports — 10% on Canadian energy resources
10% tariffs on all China imports
