Well, that didn’t take long.

President Donald Trump’s hardline negotiating tactics have already yielded fruit for the United States — but there’s still lots of work to be done.

One of the big campaign promises that helped propel Trump to his second presidential term involved the subject of immigration, namely of the illegal variety.

And while much of the focus on such illegal immigration has been on countries that immediately surround the United States, there are also plenty of issues from immigration abroad.

One such problematic country: India, which reportedly has thousands of illegal immigrants in the U.S.

As reported by Bloomberg, at least 18,000 illegal immigrants from India are currently in America.

That number may soon dwindle.

The Economic Times reported that Trump and the Indian government are working hand-in-hand to address this immigration issue.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi — a professed fan of Trump’s — and his government will be aiding his American counterpart.

That being said, it’s worth noting that the Times explained that India is not doing this solely out of a sense of magnanimity.

“This cooperation hopes to protect legal immigration channels for Indian citizens entering the US, particularly student visas and H-1B visas for skilled workers,” the outlet noted.

(For the unfamiliar, H-1B visas have been a particularly thorny topic for Republicans. In fact, many think that Vivek Ramaswamy’s outspoken support of those visas played a small role in his departure from the Department of Government Efficiency.)

Oh, and the Times report also hammered home one more thing: Trump’s art of the deal and tough negotiating tactics played a big role in this development.

“Like several other nations, India is working behind the scenes to appease the Trump administration and avoid the brunt of its trade threats,” the Times reported. “The crackdown on illegal migration has been a signature campaign pledge for Trump.

“Within hours of his inauguration Monday, the new president moved to fulfill that pledge as he pushed to end birthright citizenship and mobilize troops on the US-Mexico border.”

The report also noted that the “two countries have together identified some 18,000 illegal Indian migrants in the US to be sent back home, according to people familiar with the matter.”

(The Times admitted that the above figure “could be much higher” since it’s “unclear how many illegal Indian migrants live in the US.”)

The report emphasized that India is expecting something in return: “In return for its cooperation, India hopes that the Trump administration would protect legal immigration channels used by its citizens to enter the US, in particular the student visas and the H-1B program for skilled workers.”

The Times reported that Indian citizens made up the overwhelming majority (“almost three-fourths”) of the 386,000 H-1B visas issued in 2023.

While the merits of legal immigration, as well as H-1B visas, is a much longer discussion for a different time, this much is undeniable: Donald Trump knows how to get results — and quickly.

That’s a far cry from Trump’s doddering predecessor. All Americans should be thankful for that, even if there’s still a lot of work left to do.

Trump pardoned more 1,500 January 6 defendants as one of his first acts as US President on Monday.

However, as expected, a Democrat DA is now trying to bring state charges to pardoned January 6ers.

Larry Krasner is seeking state charges against pardoned January 6 defendants who live in Pennsylvania.

Krasner will have an uphill legal battle because of double jeopardy laws.

Per CNN reporter Marshall Cohen: “Philadelphia DA Larry Krasner, a progressive Democrat, is exploring state charges against pardoned US Capitol rioters from PA. This would face significant legal hurdles, like double jeopardy. But he told me, “you can have a state prosecution for conduct that was not fully encompassed in the federal prosecution.”

Recall that Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort was hit with state charges in anticipation of a Trump pardon in 2019.

Then-Manhattan DA Cy Vance announced state charges against Manafort in March 2019 just MINUTES after the former Trump campaign chairman was sentenced for the second time on federal charges.

The Communists in the Southern District of New York (SDNY) hatched a plot to go around ‘double jeopardy’ laws. This way Manafort would still serve prison time if Trump were to issue a presidential pardon.

Manafort pleaded not guilty and his lawyers asked for the case to be thrown out because of ‘double jeopardy’ laws — and a judge dismissed the mortgage fraud case in the SDNY because it overlapped with the federal charges.

President Donald Trump has removed John Bolton’s Secret Service protection after stripping him of his security clearance on day one.

Bolton, a neoconservative war hawk, was granted Secret Service protection by Joe Biden in 2021.

The disgraced former national security advisor, fired by Trump in 2019, whined about losing the protection in a post on X.

Bolton wrote:

In 2022, an Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) member was charged over a plot to assassinate Bolton.

After being fired, Bolton became a darling of the liberal media — seemingly never passing on an opportunity to bash President Trump.

Trump revoked Bolton’s security clearance in an executive order on his first day in office.

The order read, “Former National Security Advisor John R. Bolton published a memoir for monetary gain after he was terminated from his White House position in 2019.  The book was rife with sensitive information drawn from his time in government.  The memoir’s reckless treatment of sensitive information undermined the ability of future presidents to request and obtain candid advice on matters of national security from their staff.  Publication also created a grave risk that classified material was publicly exposed.”

“To remedy these abuses of the public trust, this Order directs the revocation of any active or current security clearances held by: (i) the former intelligence officials who engaged in misleading and inappropriate political coordination with the 2020 Biden presidential campaign; and (ii) John R. Bolton.”

Much is made about the ‘Special Relationship’ between the United States and the United Kingdom, but at this point in time this has lost a good deal of relevance.

Add to that the fact that failing British Prime Minister Keir Starmer chose for his Foreign Minister the far-leftist David Lammy, who has these comments about President Donald J. Trump:

• 2017: Lammy called Trump a ‘racist KKK and Nazi sympathizer’.
• In 2018: the Labour politician called Trump a ‘woman-hating, neo-Nazi sympathizing sociopath’ and described him as a ‘profound threat to the international order’.
• Also in 2018, he referred to Trump as a ‘tyrant in a toupee’.
• 2019: Trump is ‘deluded, dishonest, xenophobic, narcissistic’ and ‘no friend of Britain’.

So, for the UK now wave the ‘special relationship’ flag has become very difficult.

It is in this light that we have to understand the fact that Trump apparently trolled Starmer last night (20) by suggesting that he will ‘snub Britain again’ when deciding his first trip abroad in his second presidential term.

Historically, American leaders would normally make London their first destination after being inaugurated, to portray the depth of the famous ‘special relationship’.

However, Trump and many in his senior team, including Elon Musk, have clashed with Starmer and Labour in recent months.

Daily Mail reported:

“The president broke with precedent in his first term, visiting Saudi Arabia in his first overseas trip rather than dropping in on Tory PM Theresa May – though they met later.”

In an Oval Office press conference mixed with signing of Executive Orders, the President hinted that the Saudis might once again be able to make a deal.

“He told reporters: ‘The first foreign trip typically has been with UK but we did it, I did it, with Saudi Arabia last time because they agreed to buy $450billion worth of our product. I said ’I’ll do it but you have to buy American product’ and they agreed to do that, they bought $450 billion; it was the least reported story I’ve ever been involved (in)’.

‘I don’t know if Saudi Arabia wanted to buy another $450Bbn or $500bn -we’ll up it for all the inflation – I think I’d probably go there’.”

Starmer is poised to travel to DC in the next few weeks, after the Trump took office promising to usher in a new ‘golden age of America’.

“Mr. Trump is weighing up whether to approve the appointment of Lord Mandelson as the UK’s new ambassador in Washington, the fate of the Chagos Islands deal and the extent to which tariffs will hit Britain.”

In his inauguration speech, the President promised to ‘tariff and tax foreign countries’, but so far, we have no details about how he would implement his policy.
