West Virginia has enacted a comprehensive ban on several synthetic food dyes and preservatives, positioning itself at the forefront of the “Make America Healthy Again” initiative championed by President Trump’s Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisey signed House Bill 2354 into law on March 24, 2025, targeting additives linked to potential health risks like obesity, tumors, and a variety of other ailments, particularly in children.

In a statement, Governor Morrisey thanked President Trump and Secretary Kennedy for their leadership on this issue.

“West Virginia ranks at the bottom of many public health metrics, which is why there’s no better place to lead the Make America Healthy Again mission,” said Governor Morrisey. “By eliminating harmful chemicals from our food, we’re taking steps toward improving the health of our residents and protecting our children from significant long-term health and learning challenges. Thank you to the Legislature, HHS Secretary Robert Kennedy, and the entire Trump Administration for helping us launch this movement right here in West Virginia.”

The legislation prohibits the use of the following artificial food dyes in school nutrition programs starting August 1, 2025:

  • Red Dye No. 3

  • Red Dye No. 40

  • Yellow Dye No. 5

  • Yellow Dye No. 6

  • Blue Dye No. 1

  • Blue Dye No. 2

  • Green Dye No. 3

Additionally, the preservatives butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA) and propylparaben will be banned from all food items sold in the state beginning January 1, 2028. This phased approach allows companies time to reformulate products and mitigate potential price increases.

This action reflects growing concern over the health impacts of synthetic food additives. Studies have linked certain artificial dyes to neurobehavioral issues in children, such as ADD/AD-HD, prompting public health advocates to call for stricter regulations. While the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has previously approved numerous color additives, recent efforts aim to reassess their safety. For instance, the FDA plans to phase out Red Dye No. 3 by 2027 due to its association with cancer in animal studies.

West Virginia’s legislation aligns with actions taken by other states. In 2023, California banned Red Dye No. 3 along with other additives, and several states are considering similar measures. This trend underscores a nationwide push towards eliminating potentially harmful chemicals from the food supply to safeguard public health.

While some industry representatives express concerns about potential impacts on product availability and costs, the overarching goal remains clear: prioritizing the health and well-being of citizens, especially children, by reducing exposure to questionable food additives.

In his 2006 book Crunchy Cons, author Rod Dreher explored the rise of a countercultural strain within American conservatism—one that valued organic food, environmental stewardship, and traditional living alongside religious faith and family values. These “crunchy conservatives” challenged the mainstream right’s embrace of industrial consumerism, instead aligning with agrarian and naturalist ideals often associated with the left. Their influence can still be felt in debates over food safety and chemical additives, where right-leaning naturalists have increasingly partnered with libertarians and health-conscious parents to push back against Big Food and FDA complacency—reshaping parts of the conservative movement around principles of bodily integrity, clean living, and skepticism of corporate and governmental assurances.

European regulators take a far more cautious approach to synthetic food dyes and preservatives than the United States. Under EU law, only authorized additives may be used, and many are either heavily restricted or banned outright. Following a 2007 study linking several dyes to hyperactivity in children, the European Union began requiring warning labels on foods containing certain synthetic dyes—such as Red 40, Yellow 5, and Yellow 6—stating they “may have an adverse effect on activity and attention in children.” Rather than carry the label, many manufacturers reformulated their products with natural alternatives like beet juice or turmeric. Some dyes commonly used in the U.S., like Red Dye No. 3 and Green Dye No. 3, are banned in the EU entirely.

European food policy is guided by the “precautionary principle,” which prioritizes consumer safety in the face of scientific uncertainty. Unlike the U.S., which often allows additives unless conclusively proven dangerous, the EU removes or restricts ingredients when health concerns arise. This means the same products sold by multinational brands often contain artificial dyes in the U.S., while their European counterparts rely on safer, natural coloring. The shift reflects not just regulatory differences but consumer expectations across the Atlantic—where European shoppers are more wary of synthetic additives in their food.

The affected foods and common items that this legislation affects includes:

Ilhan Omar Initiating Impeachment Efforts for Multiple Trump Admin Officials: Report

Ilhan Omar Initiating Impeachment Efforts for Multiple Trump Admin Officials: Report

Ilhan Omar Initiating Impeachment Efforts for Multiple Trump Admin Officials: Report
March 27, 2025

The drama surrounding President Donald Trump’s top defense team this week is getting a backstage twist.

Minnesota Democrat Ilhan Omar, one of the most polarizing members of the polarizing group known as the “squad,” is shopping plans behind the scenes to launch impeachment efforts as a result of the controversy that’s become known as “Signalgate,” according to the Beltway-centric news outlets Axios.

Omar’s targets are some of the biggest names in Trump’s administration, but the online backlash might not be quite what she was expecting.

According to the Axios report Thursday, which cited unnamed sources, Omar is trying to convince fellow Democrats behind the scenes to move forward with impeaching Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, National Security Advisor Michael Waltz, and CIA Director John Ratcliffe.

All three were part of a chat group on the encrypted messaging app Signal that discussed a March 15 strike by the United States military on the Houthi terrorist group in Yemen. Also in that group, included accidentally, was Jeffrey Goldberg, the editor-in-chief of the liberal magazine The Atlantic. Goldberg is a journalist with a history of attacking Trump.

(He was the man who publicized the claim that Trump had insulted American Marines who gave their lives during World War I.)

When Goldberg published a report about the Yemen conversation in The Atlantic on Monday, he unleashed the young Trump administration’s most serious controversy to date. It’s a controversy that has stirred Omar to start talking impeachment, according to Axios.

“The high-profile progressive has been pushing the idea of impeachment among fellow House Democrats, a senior House Democrat and another source familiar with the matter told Axios,” the outlet reported.

Considering that any impeachment effort against the Trump administration is virtually certain to fail in the current Congress, where Republicans hold a majority in both the House and the Senate, the motivation for Omar to act isn’t the likelihood of success.

Instead, it’s more likely a public relations exercise — political theater to paint Trump as a villain and show his supporting cast in the worst possible light.

But with reactions on the social media platform X showing an overwhelming majority of commenters blasting Omar, an impeachment stunt is likely to only backfire for Democrats as a whole.

A quick survey of X found only a single post supporting Omar. That post — from a leftist social media activist — was quickly inundated with responses attacking her or defending the Trump officials.

Outside of that post, the rest were ridiculing Omar, a native of Somalia and one of only two Muslim women to serve in Congress. (The other is fellow “squad” member Rashida Tlaib, a Michigan Democrat.)

Here’s a fair sampling of the reaction as a whole, as of about 4:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time:

(To be fair, the story got a much friendlier reception from posts on Bluesky. But a liberal silo of a social media platform created specifically to be of, by and for the lefties is not exactly a reflection of America writ large.)

Omar has a history of being melodramatically partisan. It’s possible that Democrats as a whole better understand the realities of majority rule in Congress better than the Minnesota rep and her far-left “squad” members.

In its report, Axios cited a Democratic leadership source who called it an “unlikely scenario” that the party would attempt impeachment proceedings while in the minority in the House.

If that’s the case, the 2026 midterms are still 18 months away, but getting more important by the day.

Jeffrey Goldberg Gives Cryptic Response When Asked About His Relationship with Mike Waltz

Jeffrey Goldberg Gives Cryptic Response When Asked About His Relationship with Mike Waltz
March 27, 2025

Jeffrey Goldberg

The Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg gave somewhat of a cryptic response when CBS News asked him about his relationship with National Security Advisor Mike Waltz.

President Trump, for now, is standing by his National Security Advisor Mike Waltz after Deep State reporter Jeffrey Goldberg was added to a Signal chat group.

However, Mike Waltz’s relationship with Jeffrey Goldberg has come into question after a screenshot of the Signal group clearly shows Waltz added The Atlantic editor to the “Houthi PC small group.”

It was reported on Monday that Jeffrey Goldberg, the anti-Trump editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, claimed he was accidentally added to a secure Signal group chat where top Trump administration officials discussed sensitive military operations against Iran-backed Houthi terrorists in Yemen.

According to Jeffrey Goldberg, National Security Adviser Mike Waltz, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Vice President JD Vance were in a Signal group called “Houthi PC small group,” discussing plans to strike terrorists in Yemen.

After the first release of chats from the Signal group, Jeffrey Goldberg vowed to release the ‘war plans’ discussed in the text chain.

Goldberg released the second round of messages from the chat group on Wednesday at it was clear that he over promised and under delivered.

Although no war plans were discussed in the “Houthi PC small group” on Signal, the main question is, how did Mike Waltz add Jeffrey Goldberg to the chat group if he insists he has never spoken to him? How was Jeffrey Goldberg in his phone contacts?

On Tuesday evening, Mike Waltz said he takes full responsibility for what happened since he is the one who created the Signal chat group.

Fox News anchor Laura Ingraham could not understand how Jeffrey Goldberg ended up in Mike Waltz’s phone in the first place if he has never spoken to him before.

“But you’ve never talked to him [Jeffrey Goldberg] before, so how’s the number on your phone?” Laura Ingraham asked Waltz.

Waltz replied, “Well, if you have somebody else’s contact and then somehow it gets sucked in, it gets sucked in.”

Although Mike Waltz insists he has never spoken to Jeffrey Goldberg, it appears they might actually know each other.

According to investigative reporter Paul Sperry, Mike Waltz was a source for Jeffrey Goldberg while he was serving on the House Intel Committee.

Per Paul Sperry: Though Waltz insists, “I wasn’t talking to [Goldberg],” a US intel official told me Waltz was a source for Goldberg while on HPSCI. “There’s no need for an investigation to figure out how he was added to the chat.Goldberg was in his address book b/c he’s been talking to him”

Additionally, Mike Waltz attended an event moderated by Jeffrey Goldberg in 2021.

Waltz was photographed standing near Goldberg.

Jeffrey Goldberg raised eyebrows when asked about his relationship with Mike Waltz.

“I’m just not going to comment on my relationship with Mike Waltz,” Jeffrey Goldberg told CBS News in an interview Wednesday.

When asked about the photos of him standing near Mike Waltz at an event in 2021, Goldberg said, “If your eyeballs see us together, then I guess your eyeballs are seeing us together.”

(VIDEO) Elon Musk and DOGE Team Reveal that NEARLY HALF of Social Security Calls are from “Fraudsters” Stealing Social Security Benefits
March 27, 2025

Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) crew have revealed that 40%—nearly half—of the phone calls the Social Security Administration receives are from “fraudsters” who are changing beneficiaries’ bank information to steal benefits.

“When you want to change your bank account, you can call Social Security. We learned 40% of the phone calls that they get are from fraudsters,” one of Musk’s prodigies stated.

President Trump’s DOGE head, Elon Musk, and members of his team sat for an interview with Bret Baier, which aired on Thursday evening, to discuss the waste, fraud, and abuse in government spending that they’ve uncovered in just two months.

Musk explained that unscrupulous individuals “call in, they say, they claim to be a retiree, then they convince the Social Security personnel to change where the money is flowing.”

“It actually goes to some fraudster,” he added.

WATCH:

DOGE Engineer: The two improvements that we’re trying to make to Social Security are helping people that legitimately get benefits protect them from fraud that they experience every day on a routine basis, and also make the experience better. And I’ll give you— one example is at Social Security one of the first things we learned is that they get phone calls every day of people trying to change direct deposit information.

So, when you want to change your bank account, you can call Social Security. We learned 40% of the phone calls that they get are from fraudsters… almost half.

Musk: Yes, and they steal people’s social security is what happens. They call in, they say, they claim to be a retiree, then they convince the Social Security personnel to change where the money is flowing. It actually goes to some fraudster. This is happening all day, every day, and then somebody doesn’t receive their Social Security; it’s because of all the fraud loopholes in the Social Security system.

Other findings by the team regarding Social Security reveal what a scam the program is.

The Gateway Pundit previously reported that the DOGE team had discovered jaw-dropping inconsistencies within the U.S. Social Security database. According to their findings, over 25 million Americans are registered as aged 100 or older—some allegedly older than the U.S. Constitution itself.

DOGE recently announced that as part of their massive clean-up effort, they’ve marked Social Security recipients aged 120 and older as deceased.

DOGE Overhauls Social Security: 7 Million Immortal Numberholders Aged 120+ Finally Marked as “Deceased” in Massive Cleanup Effort

Despite the massive fraud in the program and evidence of real retirees getting cheated out of their benefits, the Democrats are still vehemently opposed to Musk and his team rooting out the corruption.

How many elected Democrats are benefiting in some way from all of this fraud?

U.S.-Canada Flight Bookings Have Totally Collapsed amid Ongoing Trade War — Down by Over 75 Percent!
March 27, 2025

Airplane taking off / Grok AI

Bookings for commercial flights between the U.S. and Canada have absolutely collapsed amid rising tensions between the two countries.

Amid the imposition of tariffs on Canadian goods and Trump’s desire to make Canada the 51st state, the number of bookings hs fallen by a staggering 75.7 percent.

One Mile at a Time, a news outlet that covers trends in the travel industry, has all the details:

Aviation analytics company OAG has published some data on the decline in flight bookings between the countries, and it’s worse than most people probably imagined. Specifically, the company compared summer season bookings in March 2024 vs. March 2025.

In other words, at this point in both years, how many people have booked transborder flights in April through September?

Well, I hope you’re sitting down. For that six month period, the number of tickets booked is down anywhere from 71.4% to 75.7%. Just as an example, April is less than a week away, and here’s how bookings between the two countries are looking:

  • In March 2024, 1,218,570 tickets had been booked for April 2024
  • In March 2025, 295,982 tickets have been booked for April 2025
  • That represents a 75.7% reduction in tickets booked.

The report also notes airlines have already reduced the number of scheduled flights 3.5 percent, adding that this “level of demand shift is something you almost never see.”

Yet should this trend continue, airlines will need to make radical overhauls to their flight schedules to align with the massive fall in demand.

Historically, the two countries have enjoyed one of the busiest air corridors in the world, with millions of travelers moving for business, tourism, and family visits.

While relations between Canada and the U.S. may currently be at their lowest point in years, that could soon change if the Conservative Party of Canada triumphs at next month’s general election.

The Conservative Party leader, Pierre Poilievre, is far more ideologically aligned with the Trump administration than Liberal Party leader Mark Carney, who only recently took over from the long-standing Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Canadian Snap Elections Confirmed for April 28th – All Parties Begin Campaigning Against the Background of an Impending Trade War With the US

However, the likelihood of this happening has fallen in recent months as the commanding lead that Poilievre once had in the polls has diminished.

Carney, meanwhile, is warning that he needs “clear mandate” to push back against the Trump, argiung that his administration “wants to break us so America will own us.”
