SAD TROMBONE: New Poll Finds Democrats ‘Deeply Pessimistic’ About the Future of Their Party

Democrats are deeply despondent about the future of their party, according to new polling from the Associated Press and the NORC Center for Public Affairs Research.
It’s not surprising that they would feel this way. They got clobbered in the November election by a man they tried to destroy through every means at their disposal. They lost the House, the Senate, and the White House.
The funny thing about the poll is that some Democrats are bummed out because they think the party isn’t doing enough to fight Trump. They don’t seem to understand that this is one of the main reasons why they are in the dumps in the first place.
They might manage to poll better if they lay off the constant Trump attacks and tried to offer ideas and solutions to the American people, but they just seem incapable of doing so. They can’t escape the trap of their Trump Derangement Syndrome.
Democrats are deeply pessimistic about the future of their party, an AP-NORC poll finds
Six months after Donald Trump’s presidential victory, Democrats remain deeply pessimistic about the future of their party, although neither the Democratic Party nor the Republican Party is viewed favorably by a majority of U.S. adults.
A new poll conducted earlier this month by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research found that only about one-third of Democrats are “very optimistic” or even “somewhat optimistic” about their party’s future. That’s down sharply from July 2024, when about 6 in 10 Democrats said they had a positive outlook.
“I’m not real high on Democrats right now,” said poll respondent Damien Williams, a 48-year-old Democrat from Cahokia Heights, Illinois. “To me, they’re not doing enough to push back against Trump.”
The poll comes at a critical moment for the Democratic Party, which is desperately seeking momentum after losing the White House and both chambers of Congress in last fall’s general election. In the survey, Democrats offer mixed reviews for some of their party’s best-known elected officials — including Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, both of New York — while reporting significant concerns about how leaders are chosen in the U.S. political system.
This is one of the reasons why it’s laugh-out-loud funny when liberals in the media try to push the false narrative that Trump supporters regret their vote for Trump. Unlike Democrats, Trump supporters are very optimistic about the future right now. The Republican party can always use some improvements, but for the first time in a long time, most people on the right are excited about what’s to come next.

Kevin O’Leary of Shark Tank appeared on CNN this week and caused a complete meltdown on the panel by calling Kamala Harris a loser. It was one of those moments when the other people on the show couldn’t even wait to be told it was their turn to talk, everyone just jumped in and talked over each other.
O’Leary correctly pointed out that the Democrats ‘anointed’ her as the nominee, rather than holding any sort of primary and says that she got ‘slaughtered’ anyway.
Nothing he says is wrong here, but the reaction from the rest of the panel speaks volumes about CNN. Moderator Abby Phillip tries to rescue the conversation at the end and tries to defend Harris, but she utterly fails.
Scott Jennings was probably trying to agree with O’Leary but it’s hard to tell in the chaos.
A CNN panel lost it on Tuesday after Shark Tank’s Kevin O’Leary called former Vice President Kamala Harris a “loser,” and admonished the Democratic Party for failing to run a primary after former President Biden dropped out of the 2024 presidential race.
“Now we’re going to talk about it. They did not run a process. They picked a loser, and she lost, and she got slaughtered because they didn‘t run a process,” O’Leary said to the panel on Tuesday.
CNN political commentators Bakari Sellers, Karen Finney and podcast host Van Lathan quickly pushed back on the notion as the panel discussed members of the party who rallied around and defended Biden after the debate, as well as boosted Harris as his successor after he decided to exit the race.
“First of all, like, let’s just make sure that we maintain some respect for Kamala Harris,” Lathan said. Finney agreed, saying of the former vice president, “I think referring to her as a loser is disrespectful. I think that we need to make sure that we have a little bit of dignity.”

While promoting the movie in South Korea, a journalist tried to bait Tom Cruise into talking about the Trump tariffs and he quietly and expertly shut her down. Cruise may have said some crazy things over the years, but this moment showed why he is one of the last real movie stars.

Tom Cruise ensured questions at a recent press event in Seoul for Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning were focused on the film itself.
On Thursday, Cruise and his Mission: Impossible co-stars and director Christopher McQuarrie, were promoting the upcoming final movie in the action franchise. However, when a reporter asked about President Donald Trump‘s proposed tariffs on movies shot outside of the U.S. and the extent to which the Paramount film, which was shot around the world, would be affected by it, Cruise wanted to move past that.
“I’d like to ask this question to anybody who’s up for it. I watched this film and I saw that it was filmed in many different locations around the world, including Africa,” the reporter said, according to an onstage translator. “Of course, we all are aware of the tariffs that President Trump has been imposing on overseas productions and films. So, is this particular movie under that tariff? And how much of the film was shot overseas?”
Cruise replied, telling the moderator, off-mic, “We’d rather answer questions about the movie. Thank you.”

There are so many people in Hollywood who would not have been able to resist that chance to get on a soapbox and start voicing their stupid, liberal opinions about Trump. Cruise was extremely smart to shut down the question and handled it very well. Good for him.
Austin Police Arrest 17-Year-Old for Murder of Infowars Reporter Jamie White — Three Additional Suspects Remain on the Loose

The Austin Police Department arrested one of four suspects for the murder of Infowars reporter Jamie White outside his Texas home on March 9.
Eloy Adrian Camarillo, 17, has confessed to police that White, 36, was shot during an attempted vehicle burglary by him and three of his friends.
Camarillo and his friends were seen approaching Kia vehicles because they are notoriously easy to steal.
The killers had broken a window and entered White’s Kia Soul vehicle to “go for a joy ride,” according to Camarillo, when he approached them to try and stop the theft.
As he confronted the group, he was shot in the neck.

KXAN reports, “Overall, the suspects allegedly also stole a black and silver Kia Soul from March 9-March 11. Witnesses told police the black Kia Soul was seen pulling up to the green Kia Soul before the deadly shooting happened.”
The report added:
Surveillance footage at the complex captured the black Kia Soul leaving the complex northbound on Douglas Street toward Oltorf Street. It was later found abandoned in the area of 5100 Sara Drive in east Austin, according to the affidavit.
The black Kia Soul was reported as stolen by the owner on March 10 from an apartment complex in Kyle. Police obtained surveillance footage from the owner of the black Kia Soul that showed a man wearing a black mask traveling in the silver Kia Soul at the apartment complex. That same man was seen attempting to break into two vehicles before “successfully stealing the black Kia Soul,” court records said.
A detective with APD found a silver Kia Soul that was stolen on March 9 from the 5000 block of Delores Avenue in east Austin. It was abandoned blocking traffic in the 12000 block of South Interstate 35 in southeast Travis County, according to the affidavit.
Investigators obtained search warrants for cellphone tower data near the areas where the two stolen Kia Souls were seen, either on surveillance footage in the area or by witnesses who contacted police. One cellphone number that was at all the locations and times where the suspects and suspect vehicles were led them to Camarillo, court records said.
Camarillo was arrested on April 30 and charged with capital murder by terror threat/other felony. His bond was set at $250,000.
It is currently unclear if Camarillo is an American citizen.

Now that everyone is finally acknowledging Joe Biden’s mental decline, and the media is desperately trying to escape deserved blame for participating in the cover-up, it’s a good time to look back and see what people actually said last year when the house of cards began to crumble.
Just before Joe Biden’s disastrous debate in June, Brian Stelter and others at CNN were still pushing the idea of cheap fakes. The idea that videos of Joe Biden looking old and out of it were being clipped and presented without context.
It sounded ridiculous back then but when you hear it today, it’s absurd bordering on criminal. These people bent over backwards to defend Joe Biden right up until the moment when they knew they couldn’t do it anymore, the truth had been exposed.
BRIAN STELTER, CNN CHIEF MEDIA CORRESPONDENT: That’s right, and it’s only June, and you’re already talking about whether the president’s defecating in public. Imagine what we’re going to be by October. You know, the White House press secretary used the phrase, cheap fakes the idea of cheap fakes. Let me explain what that is to people. We’ve been worried for years about A.I. deep fakes, that computer-generated images are going to trick people into believing something that’s totally false. Cheap fakes are a little bit simpler. They’re cheap. They’re just distorted out of context videos, chopped up in certain ways, constructed in certain ways.
That’s what we’re seeing. That’s what the Biden administration, the Biden campaign is so worried about right now. But make no mistake, they are worried about this. This is a real problem. This is not some made up fiction. The videos are oftentimes made up, but the problem is real because some of us, Abby, watch a 40 minute speech by Biden. We see the full context. Other people only watch a five-second clip. And that’s going to be something that’s going to, I suspect, follow Biden for the rest of this campaign.
PHILLIP: I mean, look, Biden, as we pointed out, it’s not a secret, he is an older man. He has actually moments that are pretty awkward in public. Why chop them up and make them into something that they’re not if Republicans perhaps feel like they need to go the next step to kind of make this so much more extreme in the minds of voters?
NATASHA ALFORD, CNN POLITICAL ANALYST: I mean, I thought it was a pretty disgusting exploitation of a moment where Biden is talking to, you know, the parachuters, but they cut that video out, right? I think it’s, it’s deeply unfair.

Montana District Court Activist Judge Strikes Down Law Banning Sex Changes for Minors

A district court judge has once again blocked a Montana law banning sex change surgeries and hormone treatments for minors.
Republican Gov. Greg Gianforte signed the legislation, Senate Bill 99, into law in 2023.
The law prohibits doctors from prescribing cross-sex hormones, puberty blockers, or performing sex change surgeries on minors. Healthcare workers who violate the law could be subjected to discipline from their “licensing entity or disciplinary review board” and lose their license for a year if convicted.
A lawsuit challenging the ban was brought on by the American Civil Liberties Union which is representing Jessica and Ewout van Garderen and their 16-year-old son who identifies as a girl named “Scarlet,” Molly and Paul Cross and their 15-year-old daughter “Phoebe,” Jane and John Doe joining on behalf of their 15-year-old son who identifies as a girl, Dr. Juanita Hodax of Community Medical Center, and Dr. Katy Mistretta of Bozeman Creek Family Health.
Just four days before the new law was scheduled to go into effect, District Court Judge Jason Marks issued a temporary injunction because he agreed with the plaintiffs who argued that it is “likely unconstitutional and would harm the mental and physical health of minors with gender dysphoria, rather than protect them from experimental treatments.”
On Tuesday, Judge Marks issued a 59-page ruling in which he claimed the law violates the state constitutional protections for privacy, equal protection, and free speech.
“The court is forced to conclude that the state’s interest is actually a political and ideological one: ensuring minors in Montana are never provided treatment to address their ‘perception that [their] gender or sex’ is something other than their sex assigned at birth,” Marks’ ruling states. “In other words, the state’s interest is actually blocking transgender expression.”
Chase Scheuer, press secretary to Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen, said in a statement to The Hill, “Yet again, the Montana judiciary ignored the will of Montanans and went out of its way to advance the woke agendas of their political allies before the state could get a fair trial.”
The report noted, “The decision to strike down Montana’s law comes as the Supreme Court prepares to rule this summer on whether such restrictions are constitutional. Half the nation since 2021 has adopted laws that ban gender transition-related care for minors, and President Trump has sought to end federal support for gender-affirming care for youth through an executive order that two court orders currently block.”
