Under leftist Prime Minister Keir Starmer, the United Kingdom is sinking ever deeper in the censorship quagmire, signaling an authoritarian future where free-speech will be completely criminalized.

But that is not to say there has been no pushback from the British society.

Now, a retired police constable has been awarded some measure of justice in the form of compensation of £20,000 [US$ 27,000] after a wrongful arrest over one social media post in which he warned about rising anti-Semitism.

The police haven’t just been arresting citizens over memes—they’ve gone after their own former officers.

You probably didn’t hear about this case, but in November 2023, Kent Police arrested retired special constable Julian Foulkes.

The Telegraph reported:

“Julian Foulkes, from Gillingham, Kent, was handcuffed at his home by six officers after replying to a pro-Palestinian activist on X. Kent Police officers searched his home and commented on his ‘very Brexity’ book collection. The force detained the 71-year-old for eight hours, interrogated and issued him with a caution after officers visited his home on Nov 2 2023.”

Back in May, Kent Police admitted that the caution was a mistake and deleted it from Foulkes’s record.

Kent’s chief constable Tim Smith phoned Foulkes personally and offered an apology for the ‘ordeal’.

A letter sent to Foulkes’ lawyers confirmed the Police force agrees to a settlement, after Foulkes launched a legal challenge supported by the Free Speech Union (FSU) for wrongful arrest and detention.

“The letter, sent by a lawyer for the force, read: ‘I am instructed to accept the offer of early resolution without recourse to litigation by payment of compensation in the sum of £20,000 plus your client’s reasonable legal fees in full and final settlement of all prospective claims arising from his arrest on Nov 2 2023’.”

The case of Julian Foulkes sounds like a joke, but it exposes something shocking. The UK police need to be reformed, urgently.

Foulkes is pleased that Kent Police followed their apology with compensation.

“’However, this was never about money’, he said. ‘For me, it was a simple matter of right and wrong and I now need to see that the full investigation I have been promised takes place and necessary actions are taken to prevent any recurrence’.”

On Friday (May 30), Kent Police took the unusual step of referring itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).

“Mr. Foulkes’s X post replied to an activist threatening to sue Suella Braverman, the home secretary at the time, for calling pro-Palestinian demonstrations in London ‘hate marches’. In the post, sent two days before police visited his home, Mr Foulkes wrote: ‘One step away from storming Heathrow looking for Jewish arrivals…’”

What Foulkes’s was referring to were the news reports of ‘an anti-Semitic mob’ storming an airport in Dagestan, Russia, ‘looking for Jewish passengers’.

Bryn Harris, chief legal counsel for the FSU:

“’The [FSU] is pleased to see that Kent Police has done the right thing and apologized to Julian, with due compensation. This is, however, merely the end of the beginning – we now need to see a full and credible investigation into the outrageous violations of Julian’s basic freedoms’.”

A Trump Administration official was put into harm’s way today, just one day after an anti-semitic illegal alien terrorist burned several Jews alive in Colorado.

Navy Secretary John Phelan spoke today at the Special Competitive Studies Project Conference (SCSPAIExpo25) at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in DC to discuss various topics, including maritime dominance and artificial intelligence. Unfortunately, a few unwelcome guests made life miserable for the rest of the attendees.

While Phelan is speaking, he notices a major commotion behind him. A few seconds later, the camera cuts to a handful of pro-Hamas losers holding a large sign who had stormed the stage.

The security did not arrive until well after the agitators had arrived at their destination.

The individuals were apparently speaking out against Palantir & AI military contracts.

As Jim Hoft previously reported, a deranged man screaming anti-Jewish epithets attacked Jewish families, including children, in Boulder, Colorado, on Sunday.

The attacker was identified as Mohamad Soliman. Several children were injured in the planned attack.

Soliman came in 2022 during the Biden regime and overstayed his visa and never left.

Given how violent the radical left has become, it’s only a matter of time before a member of the Trump Administration gets seriously injured or killed unless serious adjustments are made.

Despite Democrat claims about the rich not paying their fair share, IRS data shows that the top 20% of earners pay more than 65% of all federal income taxes, while the bottom 20% pay effectively nothing, receiving more in benefits than they are paying in taxes.

According to data from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) and the U.S. Census Bureau, the bottom 20% of U.S. income earners (households in the lowest income quintile) receive a significant portion, often the majority, of their income from government transfers such as Medicaid, SNAP (food stamps), housing subsidies, and refundable tax credits like the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC).

Roughly 80% of Americans are taxpayers, while the remaining 20% are net tax consumers. To put it in simple terms: taxpayers eat what they kill, while tax consumers live off what others have hunted. They rely on the labor and productivity of the working class to sustain their standard of living.

Although liberals often portray welfare recipients as disabled or unable to work, the reality is that most could work, but choose not to. According to the Congressional Budget Office, 60% of working-age adults in the welfare-dependent population did not work at all during the year, and many were not officially classified as disabled.

Among recipients of SNAP alone, roughly 28% are classified as able-bodied adults without dependents (ABAWDs). Data from the Census Bureau and the Department of Health and Human Services show that roughly 40–50% of these individuals are able-bodied adults of working age. And yet, they have somehow managed to game the system and continue receiving benefits.

The controversy over the “Big Beautiful Bill” was, as usual, misrepresented. The media framed it as cruel cuts, as if benefits were being stripped from some old, crippled woman born with her heart on the outside, raising several mixed-race children. A “10% cut,” for example, is always portrayed as meaning a disabled or aged person living on $2,000 a month will now get $1,800.

But that’s generally not what a budget cut means. In most cases, it simply means the bar is being raised to qualify for benefits, so that healthy, working-age people are encouraged to go back to work.

And proof of this is that Democrats are always quick to say, “With the new cuts, 12 million people could lose their benefits.” Yes, that’s exactly what a cut is supposed to do: reduce the total number of people on benefits, not necessarily reduce payments to those who truly need them. As is so often the case in politics between the two parties, terms need to be defined. Most people agree that those who truly need help should get it, we just want to narrow the definition of who qualifies.

Democrats portray benefits as a temporary lifeline, but in reality, they often create long-term dependence. States routinely report challenges in getting these individuals into job training or employment programs.

Meanwhile, many recipients get more in refundable tax credits than they owe, along with a wide range of benefits from both federal and state programs, including SNAP (food stamps), Medicaid, Section 8 housing, utility subsidies, and child tax credits. With their rent, medical care, food, and other expenses covered without working, they have little incentive to put in the effort that would disqualify them from receiving free money.

Compounding the issue, many of the households receiving benefits suffer from chronic social breakdown. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, more than 70% of children in low-income, inner-city communities are raised in fatherless homes. These children face dramatically worse outcomes across the board: the National Fatherhood Initiative reports that children without fathers are four times more likely to live in poverty, twice as likely to drop out of school, and more likely to engage in criminal activity or be incarcerated.

Studies from the Brookings Institution and Pew Charitable Trusts further show that welfare dependency is often passed down through generations. A child whose parents received public assistance is significantly more likely to end up on welfare themselves, and the probability increases further if both parents and grandparents relied on benefits. In some communities, families are now entering their fourth generation of government dependence, with no expectation or cultural pressure to exit the welfare system.

And the left either denies that any of this is true — or, worse, believes it’s a good thing.

The US Supreme Court on Monday morning declined to hear a Second Amendment case involving challenges to bans on high-capacity magazines and some semi-automatic weapons.

One case involved Maryland’s 2012 ban on some semi-automatic weapons like AR-15 rifles.

The high court also declined to hear arguments challenging Rhode Island’s ban on high-capacity magazines.

The Supreme Court did not give an explanation for declining to hear arguments on the cases but conservative Justices Gorsuch, Alito and Thomas dissented.

Justice Kavanaugh said the Supreme Court will be addressing the AR-15 challenge soon.

“Additional petitions for certiorari will likely be before this Court shortly and, in my view, this Court should and presumably will address the AR-15 issue soon, in the next Term or two,” Kavanaugh said in a statement.

CNN reported:

The Supreme Court declined Monday to hear arguments in a pair of significant Second Amendment challenges involving certain semi-automatic weapons and high-capacity magazines, a move that leaves both of those laws in place.

One of the appeals dealt with Maryland’s ban on certain semi-automatic weapons such as AR- and AK-style rifles. The law, enacted after the deadly 2012 shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut, was challenged by David Snope, a state resident who wants to purchase those rifles for self-defense and other purposes.

The Supreme Court also declined to hear a challenge to Rhode Island’s ban on high-capacity gun magazines, leaving that law in place.

As is typical, the court did not explain its reasoning in denying the cases, though it has denied several high profile gun appeals over the past year. Conservative Justices Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch and Clarence Thomas dissented from the court’s decision not to hear the pair of cases.

“Ten years ago, on June 15, President Trump came down the Golden Escalator,” Steve Bannon said.

“At CPAC in 2015, Donald Trump came in 7th place, [polling] at just over 3 percent. When he’s at the top of the escalator, he’s in 7th place in general polling.”

“After he goes down the escalator, and actually addresses the American people – that night, he went to number one, and then President Trump was always in first place.”

“Why? He addressed the American people in a nomenclature, and with ideas, that they talked amongst themselves, or thought about – but nobody had the political courage ever to talk about.”

“And, guess what? It’s the program that he is fighting for every single day,” Bannon said.

“That was ten years ago. We have gone through a decade together, and for those of you that were with us from 2014 on, it’s been over a decade,” Bannon said.

“But in this decade – in everything that’s gone on with President Trump; everything that’s gone on with the MAGA movement – first of all, the brutal and tough primary fight in 2015 and 2016; the come-from-behind victory against Hillary Clinton; the massive revolt of the Deep State in the first term nullification project; the pandemic, unleashed by the Chinese Communist Party, to stop the economic flourishing that President Trump had against all odds; the stolen election of 2020; the historic nature of the New York Post printing the laptop from hell, and everything that involved Joe Biden; and the crushing of the New York Post by Facebook; by Twitter; by all the social media accounts.”

“Then, the stealing of the 2020 election – the fight thereafter; President Trump, then leaving, to go to Mar-a-Lago. You remember, essentially, the political nuclear winter of that early part of 2021 – when Fox News would never even put him up, and they wouldn’t cover him live, because they feared he would talk about the stolen election.”

“The long journey back to the 2024 primary – and his victory; and then, hand-to-hand combat in 2024 – to win a sweeping victory, across the board: this is all historic,” Bannon said.

After Bannon delivered an off-the-cuff, historically accurate account of the previous American decade that few other pundits could muster, Bannon shifted his focus to the current political battleground.

“For over a decade, you have been an activist. Many of you are here from the beginning – you are like veterans of the American Revolution – you understand this is a revolution,” Bannon said.

“Everything that happened in that decade – ten years of your life – is just a preamble for what’s about to happen, because now we are in it, folks.”

“You see the convergence of the kinetic part of the third world war, and what President Trump is trying to do on peace.”

“You see what’s happening on his stopping the invasion. It didn’t take a decade; it didn’t take [a Congressional] bill.”

“It took a man that had an idea, and a plan, executing it in 60 days.”

Bannon cautioned his audience that although President Trump has already established himself as a Mount Rushmore caliber American figure, MAGA remains at serious odds with the most powerful forces of Globalism.

“The fight he’s getting by the Globalist elite that still run this country – don’t think we run it. We have a foothold. And we have a man, a leader, making decisions that are Herculean.”

“This is why I say, with all his imperfections, President Trump is at the level of General Washington; he’s at the level of Lincoln.”

“With that top three, you have the birth of the nation; you have the rebirth of the nation; and you have the rejuvenation, and the salvation of the nation,” Bannon said. 

Finally, Bannon lent greater perspective to the historic burden that President Trump carries in 2025.

“As all this converges: an economic and financial crisis, a constitutional crisis, and a kinetic third world war that’s now upon us, and upon the shoulders of one man to stop – the history that’s going to be made in the next couple hundred of days will be talked about for the next couple hundred of years,” Bannon said.
