Europe’s Richest Man Goes Full MAGA – Bertrand Arnault Praises Trump and the ‘Winds of Optimism’ in America, Says Returning to France Is a ‘Cold Shower’
February 2, 2025

US POresident Donalf J. Trump and LVMH’s Bernard Arnault.

Europe’s richest man, owner of an empire in the luxury goods sector with prestigious brands like Louis Vuitton, Dior, and Tiffany & Co. under his leadership, has joined the growing band of business leaders to publicly support US President Donald J. Trump.

Called the ‘wolf in cashmere’, Bernard Arnault, the chairman and CEO of LVMH, has a net worth estimated to be around $189.7 billion.

The Telegraph reported:

“On Jan 20, the French tycoon was granted a prime seat at Trump’s second inauguration, appearing alongside his wife Helene, son Alexandre (deputy chief of LVMH brand Moët Hennessy) and daughter Delphine (boss of LVMH’s Dior).”

Melania Trump wore Dior on inauguration day.

Back in his native France, Arnault was all praise for Trump and the American renaissance.

“’I have just returned from the US, and I have witnessed the winds of optimism in that country’, he said. ‘Coming back to France is a bit like taking a cold shower’.”

The luxury goods billionaire is joining the growing number of business leaders backing MAGA.

“Speaking last week, he said LVMH is ‘seriously considering’ bulking up its production capacities in the US, suggesting that the billionaire and Trump could soon be cutting more ribbons together over the coming years.”

The US market accounts for around 25% of LVMH’s group sales, and is even more important following a slowdown in demand from China.

Ivanka also wore Dior for the Inauguration.

“Arnault’s sprawling empire, which also includes brands such as Givenchy, Veuve Clicquot and Tiffany, last year saw revenues in its crucial fashion and leather goods division fall for the first time since 2020.”

Arnault dropped down to fifth in the ranking of the world’s richest people in Forbes’ list.

The New York Post, last month, described the Frenchman’s aim to be avoiding tariffs on his luxury brands.

“Keen observers also noted how both Ivanka and Melania Trump were sporting Dior clothing during the inauguration celebrations.”
