Frank Pavone: The Most Christian Presidency in History

We’ve all seen and heard the criticisms that President Donald Trump doesn’t behave in a Christian way.
The fact is that he is behaving in a very Christian way.
And I’m not just talking about the historic actions he has taken for religious freedom. Not only has he established an Office of Faith, to which I, with many other Christian pastors, have been invited to give input, but he has started a task force to eradicate anti-Christian bias. And it is no mere symbolic task force. It includes the Secretary of State, the Secretary of Defense, the Director of the FBI, and many other cabinet and highly-placed officials.
Now I have often said that I don’t look for public officials who live my faith, but who defend my freedom to live my faith. That by itself is enough to warrant my full support of President Trump.
But it is by his personal and policy decisions that he, too, is living Christian faith.
Take, for example, the DOGE effort. What is more Christian, to shine a light on fraud, corruption and waste, or to hide it? St. Paul wrote to the Ephesians, “Have nothing to do with the fruitless works of darkness; rather, expose them” (Eph. 5:11). DOGE could well be dubbed “The Ephesians 5:11 Project.”
The American people have been kept in the dark about how their money has been spent, and when they see that tens of millions of dollars are being spent on transgender mice and indoctrination in countries they have never heard of. they are rightly appalled.
Christian life means opposing deceit and shining light into the darkness. St. Paul writes, “Let us, therefore, celebrate the festival, not with the old leaven, the leaven of malice and evil, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth” (1 Cor 5:8).
And Christian life means avoiding waste. When Jesus multiplied the bread and the fish, he ordered his disciples to pick up the fragments so that nothing would go to waste (John 6:12). And multiple parables command us to be wise and fruitful in the use of this world’s goods (see Mt. 25:14ff).
Scripture tells us to stop lying to one another (Col. 3:9), and one of the commandments is to avoid false witness to one’s neighbor. President Trump is not only exposing but punishing the actions of those in government who have lied to us – such as the intelligence officials who said the Hunter Biden laptop wasn’t real.
What, furthermore, is Christian behavior if not lifting censorship, restoring free speech, and ending the weaponization of government? Jesus himself was the target of weaponized government. His political opponents brought false and contradictory testimony against him (see Mt. 26:60).
It was rigged.
Jesus, furthermore, declared, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God” (Mt. 5:9). President Trump is making peace and keeping peace all over the world. Some criticize his plans for peace between Russia and Ukraine, but at least he is making plans and working hard to implement them. He already has a track record as an historic peacemaker, keeping America out of new wars, persuading foreign nations to behave themselves, establishing the Abraham Accords, defying all expectations regarding North Korea, and much more.
We can go on and on, whether it is the defense of God’s truth in the creation of male and female – a very Christian teaching and action – or the defense of parental rights, opposing the indoctrination of children (we know what Jesus said about protecting the little ones), or basic fairness (a Christian virtue) in trade deals for the United States.
All those who accuse President Trump of not behaving in a Christian way are way off base. Open the Bible, and then look at what is unfolding before your very eyes as the most Christian presidency in American history.
