On Monday night, President Trump’s pick for Director of National Intelligence (DNI), former Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, passed through a key Senate vote for her confirmation.

The full Senate voted to invoke cloture and advance Gabbard’s confirmation as DNI to a final Senate vote.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Gabbard passed in a Senate Intel Committee vote last week.

This came after two potential GOP holdouts who could have derailed Gabbard’s nomination, Todd Young (R-IN) and Susan Collins (R-ME), announced in the 11th hour that they’d support Gabbard.

During the Senate's cloture vote, Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA) confirmed that he would vote for Gabbard's confirmation.

“President Trump chose Tulsi Gabbard to be his point person on foreign intelligence,” said Dr. Cassidy. “I will trust President Trump on this decision and vote for her confirmation,” Cassidy said in a statement.

Tonight's vote is her final hurdle before the full Senate votes on her final confirmation.

Per Fox, "If the cloture motion passes, there will be 30 hours of debate on the Senate floor. Frequently, the debate between the cloture motion and the final vote is minimized in what's referred to as a 'time agreement' between Republicans and Democrats.

But with the controversial nature of Gabbard's nomination and ongoing frustrations with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and its government audit, no such agreements are expected."

Vice President JD Vance, the tie-breaking vote in the case of an unlikely 50-50 vote, is currently traveling abroad to attend the AI Summit in Paris, France, and the Munich Security Conference in Germany.

According to the Senate Periodical Press Gallery, The Senate will vote to invoke cloture on RFK Jr.'s nomination as Health and Human Services Secretary after a final vote on Tulsi Gabbard's nomination. Next, the Senate will cast final votes on Secretary of Commerce nominee Howard Lutnick and Secretary of Agriculture nominee Brooke Rollins.

The Gateway Pundit will continue to provide updates on the confirmation of President Trump's nominees and Tulsi Gabbard, which could come as soon as Wednesday.
