Kristi Noem Smacks Down Despicable Connecticut Senator Richard Blumenthal with a Brilliant Response When He Smears Trump on Immigration and Gives Biden a Pass (VIDEO)

As Jim Hoft reported earlier, President Trump’s nominee for Homeland Security Secretary, Kristi Noem, sat before the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee Friday morning at 9 AM Eastern.

Noem is the Governor of South Dakota, a position she has held since 2019. Before that, Noem was a popular US House of Representatives member.

While Noem’s questioning has been far more professional compared to that of Defense Secretary Nominee Pete Hegseth and Attorney General nominee Pam Bondi, Senator Andy Kim (D-N.J.) proved completely unprepared for questioning and was promptly embarrassed.

At the very end of the hearing, Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) decided to step on a grenade and was blown up by a well-prepared Noem. As TGP readers know, Blumenthal is the same guy who lied about his service in Vietnam, rendering him guilty of stolen valor.

Blumenthal started by bringing up his legislative efforts to ‘reunite’ children separated from their parents under Trump’s administration, conveniently ignoring the hundreds of thousands of innocent children who have gone missing thanks to the Biden regime’s lawless border policies. He told Noem he hoped she would support his efforts to throw Trump under the bus.

But Noem saw right through Blumenthal’s trap and put him in his place with an excellent response.

Noem began by pointing out that Trump never had a family separation policy but rather a zero-tolerance policy for illegal aliens. Then, she dropped the hammer on Blumenthal.

“What I’m alarmed by is the over 300,000 children that went missing during the Biden administration,” Noem replied. “When we talk about children and what they are facing as far as victimization…This administration’s lack of desire of where these children are and what they might be going through is alarming to me.”

Upon hearing this, Blumenthal quickly pivoted. He then tried to excuse what happened under Biden and again tried to get her to help him ‘hold Trump accountable.’

“Let’s put aside the labels and what happened in the past,” Blumenthal said. “There are still 1,000 children who were separated and waiting to be reunited. I’d like your commitment to continuing the effort to reunite them with their parents.”

Noem again smacked him down by reiterating the Biden regime’s actual family separation scandal.

“Well, I can’t put aside 300,000 children,” Noem responded. “Keeping families together is critically important to me and to this country. I’m concerned about Laken Riley’s family and that they no longer have her.”

“We will uphold our laws and make sure we are doing everything we can to keep children safe from the trafficking and drug epidemics,” she added.
