Liberal Singer Sheryl Crowe Sells Tesla in Protest of Elon Musk’s DOGE, Donates Proceeds to Far-Left NPR
February 16, 2025
Liberal country music singer Sheryl Crow has once again tried to stay relevant by selling her Tesla as a performative protest against tech billionaire Elon Musk’s support of DOGE and his role in the Trump administration’s efforts to restore America’s economy.
Instead of donating the proceeds to those who actually need help—such as veterans, single mothers, or struggling families—Crow funneled the money to the far-left propaganda machine NPR.
In a self-congratulatory Instagram post on Friday, Crow shared a video of her Tesla being towed away with a virtue-signaling caption:
“My parents always said… you are who you hang out with.
There comes a time when you have to decide who you are willing to align with. So long Tesla.
Money donated to NPR, which is under threat by President Musk, in hopes that the truth will continue to find its way to those willing to know the truth.”

This out-of-touch Hollywood liberal act immediately sparked backlash from Americans fed up with elites playing political games while real people suffer under Biden’s disastrous economy.
Popular conservative commentator Catturd summed up the ridiculousness of Crow’s decision in a viral post:
“Not vets. Not hurricane victims. Not starving children. Not kids with cancer. Not a single mother who desperately needs a car. She donated to fake news government-run NPR. Virtue signaling failure.”

Another user sarcastically thanked Crow for supporting Musk’s wealth: “Thank you, Sheryl, for helping make Elon Musk the richest man in the world so he could help President Trump!!”
Meanwhile, another commenter cut to the heart of the issue: “I feel sorry for these people. Their handlers keep them so insulated from the real world that they actually believe that their actions are supported by the class of people that matter. She has no idea that we are ALL against corruption in our government—and by proxy, for DOGE!”
Another X user wrote, “Sheryl Crow really thinks she’s making a statement by selling her Tesla and giving the money to NPR, which is one of the most taxpayer-funded propaganda machines out there. Imagine thinking you’re fighting ‘power’ by siding with the establishment. Peak celebrity delusion.”
Another user commented, “Sheryl Crow selling her Tesla for NPR? That’s just virtue-signaling for attention. ‘The truth belongs to those who seek it,’ not to those who want to look good. Donating to NPR because Musk is loosening the Democrats’ death-grip on the narrative? That’s surface-level thinking from another celebrity trying to show moral superiority. She’s picking sides for validation, not truth. If she really cared about the truth, she’d support it without the fanfare. This is just another celebrity stunt, not a stand for truth.”
Crow’s virtue signaling comes at a time when President Trump has intensified his calls to slash federal funding for public broadcasters like far-left NPR, with Elon Musk, now famously in charge of the Department of Government Efficiency, echoing these sentiments.
Musk has publicly stated, “It should survive on its own,” critiquing NPR’s reliance on federal funds.
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC), under Chair Brendan Carr, has also initiated an investigation into NPR and PBS for possibly violating federal laws by airing commercial advertisements.
The leaders of NPR and PBS are set to be grilled on Capitol Hill as the newly formed Delivering on Government Efficiency (DOGE) Subcommittee, chaired by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), demands answers on why taxpayer dollars continue to fund these far-left media outlets.
Letters sent to NPR CEO Katherine Maher and PBS President Paula Kerger on Monday morning accused the outlets of producing blatantly biased content while still receiving millions in federal funding.
