Mayor Brandon Johnson Cancels Budget Meeting and Flees As Angry Chicagoans Call Him Out For Putting Illegals Ahead of Residents (Video)

Chicago City Council meetings have become tough outings for the city’s Mayor Brandon Johnson (D).
In early December, Johnson faced outraged residents at a Council meeting who let him have it over his administration’s staggering $574.5 million expenditure on migrant shelters as the city grapples with a $1 billion budget shortfall.
They are fed up with how the City and Johnson have handled staggering crime, budget cuts, a failing school system, and the funneling of funds away from residents to benefit illegals.
They issued a stark warning to the Democrat party last year, and in October, resident Jessica Jackson blasted Democrats at a City Council meeting in a blistering takedown of their decades-long failures in the city.
On Friday, Johnson canceled the city’s already delayed vote on its 2025 budget and then ran from the room as residents shouted their disgust with his leadership.
As he ran away, a frustrated resident yelled after him, “You are disgusting!”
Another shouted, “Is no one paying attention? Is no one paying attention?”

Sources close to aldermen told NBC Chicago the vote was called off early Friday morning, and would likely be moved to next Wednesday. They delay comes as reports say Johnson was short on votes for the latest proposal. Johnson would need 26 votes for the budget to pass.
During Friday’s city council meeting, Ald. Jason Irvin called for a motion to recess the vote until 1 p.m. Monday, which passed 32 to 16. But the move caused shouting and chaos, NBC 5 reporters at City Hall said, with some aldermen disputing rules that would allow the recessed vote.
