Pakistani Airline Ad Shows Airplane About to Crash Into Eiffel Tower – ‘Paris, We’re Coming Today’

This Pakistani airline will probably need to fire someone in their public relations department.

Pakistan International Airlines, which is Pakistan’s national carrier, put out an ad on the X platform in which they announced that flights between the capital of Islamabad and Paris would be resuming.

”Paris, we’re coming today,” the ad declares.

However, users quickly noted something unusual.

The image appeared to show an airplane flying directly towards the Eiffel Tower.

The image conjured up memories of 9/11 and the infamous images of 747 airliners crashing into the World Trade Center.

Netizens were mostly amused by the image, although some appeared to interpret it as a terrorist threat.

The airline did achieve its primary purpose of getting the word out about the resumption of flights between the two countries, given that the post has already accrued a staggering 20 million impressions.

However, it remains to be seen whether reminding Westerners about the threat of Islamic terrorism was the kind of publicity they were hoping for.

While Pakistan has had historical links with Al-Qaeda and Islamic terror groups, no Pakistani nationals were involved in the 9/11 attacks.

Most of the hijackers came from Saudi Arabia, while a handful came from the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, and Egypt.

Paris, meanwhile, has been subject to numerous horrendous terror attacks, including the Charlie Hebdo and Bataclan massacres, the Nice lorry attack and the beheading of secondary school teacher Samuel Patty.
