SPACE SPIRAL: Mysterious Swirl Seen in the Night Sky Over Europe Revealed To Be Caused by SpaceX’s Falcon 9 Rocket

Yesterday, a mysterious spiral appeared in the night sky over multiple Parts of Europe, causing many to look up with a mix of awe and fear.

Sputnik reported:

“Residents across multiple countries, including France, Germany, Poland, Russia, and Ukraine, were left stunned by a glowing spiral formation in the night sky. The unusual phenomenon sparked widespread speculation, with many turning to social media to share photos and theories.”

Today, after the usual number of social media users have spent their time with outrageous theories, the mysterious swirl that appeared in the night sky over Europe was revealed to be have been made by a SpaceX rocket.

The Telegraph reported:

“Social media was abuzz with stargazers on Monday night, who spotted the strange spiral moving slowly across the sky from north to south at around 8pm for 30 minutes.”

“Ben Thomson of Hampshire, wrote on X that it was ‘too slow for a satellite but appeared to be at a high altitude’. He added: ‘It was very bright at its central point and created a swirl effect which was also lit up as it went’.”

“Experts said the phenomenon was created by a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launched from Cape Canaveral in Florida at 5.48pm UK time. The frozen exhaust was illuminated by the Sun as they spun across the sky, creating the glowing blue spiral.

A spokesman for the Met Office said: ‘We’ve received many reports of an illuminated swirl in the sky this evening. This is likely to be caused by the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, launched earlier today. The rocket’s frozen exhaust plume appears to be spinning in the atmosphere and reflecting the sunlight, causing it to appear as a spiral in the sky’.”

SpaceX stated that the rocket was launched on behalf of the US government’s National Reconnaissance Office, and that ‘the orbit was classified’.

The reusable Falcon 9 came back to Earth eight minutes after liftoff, and it left behind a trail of glowing exhaust in the upper atmosphere.
