‘The View’ Co-Host Sunny Hostin’s Surgeon Husband Accused of Insurance Fraud in Explosive RICO Lawsuit

The husband of The View co-host Sunny Hostin is facing accusations of insurance fraud.

According to Mail Online, orthopedic surgeon Dr. Emmanuel ‘Manny’ Hostin is one of the more than 200 individuals named in one of the largest federal insurance cases ever filed in New York.

The lawsuit alleges that Hostin and other defendants received kickbacks after performing surgeries and then fraudulently billing American Transit, a company that insures Uber and Lyft drivers.

“Hostin knowingly provided fraudulent medical and other healthcare services including arthroscopic surgeries,” reads the lawsuit, which was filed last month.

It goes on to claim that American Transit was then billed “in exchange for kickbacks and/or other compensation which were disguised as dividends or other cash distributions.”

Hostin’s attorney, Daniel Thwaites, told the Mail that his client has an “impeccable” record and “denies each and every allegation” against him.

He also described it as a “blanket, scattershot, meritless lawsuit by a near-bankrupt insurance carrier.”

“It is meant to intimidate and harass doctors from collecting for care given to American Transit insureds and their passengers,” he continued.

“American Transit has rushed into the lawsuit without ever conducting an examination of Dr. Hostin or expressing any concerns to his lawyers.

‘The real story here is about an insurance carrier abusing the legal system to limit and restrict health care benefits to its insureds and their passengers, and write off its proper obligations.”

Hostin has been married to his wife Sunny since 1998, and the couple has two children.

A former federal prosecutor, Sunny Hostin is notorious for making ridiculous statements during her work as a co-host of The View. 

Just this week, she compared the January 6th protests as an “atrocity” on a par with the Holocaust.

“It was one of the worst moments in American history,” she complained.

“And when you think about the worst moments in American history, you know, like World War II, things that happened, you know, like the Holocaust, chattel slavery, we need to never forget,” she continued. “Because past becomes prologue if you forget and erase.”
