Trump’s First Official Trip as President Will be to Los Angeles, According to Report
January 19, 2025
President Donald Trump’s first official trip after returning to the White House will be to the Los Angeles areas that have been devastated by fires, according to a new report.
The news was reported by NewsNation, which cited two unnamed sources for their reporting.
The trip is reportedly scheduled to occur late next week.
Trump has laid the blame for the destruction on California Governor Gavin Newsom.
“One of the best and most beautiful parts of the United States of America is burning down to the ground,” Trump posted to Truth Social earlier this month. “It’s ashes, and Gavin Newscum should resign. This is all his fault!!!”
California has laws limiting the amount of water that can be pumped from the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta — which caused a shortage of water to fight the fires.
“Now the ultimate price is being paid. I will demand that this incompetent governor allow beautiful, clean, fresh water to FLOW INTO CALIFORNIA! He is the blame for this,” Trump added. “On top of it all, no water for fire hydrants, not firefighting planes. A true disaster!”
The fires have destroyed hundreds of thousands of acres and left at least 27 people dead.
Nearly 30 people are still missing.
The two largest fires, Palisades and Eaton, are still burning as of Sunday afternoon.
Trump will be sworn in as the 47th president on Monday.
