Washington State Mayor Destroys Woke LGBTQ Activist for Complaining About POW/MIA Flag: ‘Hundreds of Thousands Died for This Country So You Could Fly Your Pride Flag’

Tuesday evening’s city council meeting in Newcastle, Washington, erupted in fireworks as Mayor Robert Clark obliterated a radical far-left activist who disgracefully equated the LGBTQ Pride flag with the POW/MIA flag.

The heated exchange occurred as the council voted 4-3 to approve long-term Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and climate change goals into city planning, according to journalist Jonathan Choe.

Jenn McAleer of China Creek, New Castle, took to the podium and wasted no time spewing divisive rhetoric, claiming that the city’s refusal to prioritize the Pride flag was a form of “tricking people” and that honoring America’s fallen warriors was somehow an “impartial” act of discrimination.

​In June 2024, the Newcastle City Council in Washington state initially voted 4-3 against raising the Pride flag at City Hall during Pride Month, according to KOMO.

Mayor Robert Clark expressed concerns that endorsing specific flags could lead to divisiveness, stating that the American flag already represents all citizens.

In response to the community’s feedback, the council reversed its decision two weeks later, voting 4-3 in favor of raising the Pride flag at City Hall for the remainder of Pride Month.

Woke Activist’s Deranged Rant:

“Speaking specifically about veterans, POWs, and MIAs, I want to say for the record: I’m very much in support of them and have absolutely no problem with a POW/MIA flag. Flying it for 100 days a year is a political stunt.

You talk a lot about special interests in this room—specifically, you’ve mentioned them repeatedly.

My research shows that there have been 82,000 Americans who are registered as POWs or MIAs, which is atrocious and horrible, and it should never happen to any American. But there are 20 million minimum LGBTQ members. When we’re talking about special interests, let’s just have some intellectual integrity.

I’ve talked before about the hypocrisy of some of the people up on that dais, and I think that your approach—trying to trick people out of having to fly the pride flag in June by making sure that the POW/MIA flag was flown—is really disgusting. Again, it’s not impartial in any way.

I think that you should be ashamed. I definitely am. Thank you.”

Mayor Clark, unwilling to let such disrespectful rhetoric stand, unleashed a thunderous response.

Clark’s words cut through the leftist nonsense like a knife. He reminded the activist—and everyone in attendance—that the very freedoms allowing her to spew her radical rhetoric exist because of the men and women who sacrificed their lives for this country.

“It’s not common that I respond to public comments, but I will not sit here and have somebody tell me that veterans are a political stunt. How dare you?

This country was founded because veterans lost their lives. Hundreds of thousands of people died for this country so that you could fly your pride flag. And man, I am pissed. I’m sorry—this is out of line, and perhaps my council members will censure me for this, but do not ever disparage veterans in my presence.

Those 82,000 people who never came home will never have a chance to have a family or grow up, while you can fly your pride flag. They sacrificed their lives all over the world for America and for freedom around the world.

I tolerate your comments, which are always on the attack, and your libelous comments on Facebook. I tolerate it because you probably can’t help yourself. But don’t ever disparage veterans in front of me. Don’t ever disparage veterans in front of me.”
