WATCH: “A Bigger Decrease Than Under The First Trump Administration” — Tom Homan Says Border Crossings Down 93% as of Sunday, Says “We’ve Got More Work to Do”

Border Czar Tom Homan joined Fox Sunday Morning Futures host Maria Bartiromo on Sunday and shared a huge update on how President Trump’s border security measures are deterring illegal immigration.

“I looked at the numbers this morning, Maria. The crossings on the border are down 93%,” Homan said. “That’s a bigger decrease than under the first Trump administration.”

Still, Homan added, “We’ve got more work to do.”

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced on Monday that the number of border crossings had decreased even further by 95%.

Homan further announced that 5,000 aliens, most of whom were criminals, were arrested in the first week after President Trump took office on January 20.

In regards to so-called noncriminals who crossed the border illegally but have not been convicted of a crime, Homan says they are “arrested in sanctuary cities because you force us into the community rather than arresting the bad guy in jail.”

As The Gateway Pundit recently reported, Democrats in Illinois are preventing ICE officials from detaining illegal aliens who are in local jails and prisons and even trying to allow illegal aliens to change their names to avoid detection by ICE.

They would rather hide these criminal aliens from ICE in jail at the expense of taxpayers to later let them out and terrorize law-abiding citizens than admit that they don’t belong in our country.

The leftist media is obsessed with pointing out that the Trump Administration is not only deporting violent criminals who entered the country illegally but also criminals who entered the country illegally.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt last Tuesday schooled two leftist reporters who apparently don't know what a criminal is.

“It’s a big culture shift in our nation to view someone who breaks our immigration laws as a criminal, but that’s exactly what they are,” she said when asked repeatedly why the U.S. is deporting "those who are just in the country illegally."

Leavitt also said last Friday, “Our message is simple: if you are a criminal illegal alien, you will be arrested and deported.”

Homan recapped the shocking change we've seen at our Southern Border, saying, "President Trump is the game changer."

Homan: Well, look, I looked at the numbers this morning, Maria. The crossings on the border are down 93%. 93% that's a bigger decrease than under the first Trump administration.

So look, I’ve said it: President Trump is the game changer. No one has had the success he's had on securing the border. He clearly understands we can't have strong national security if we don't have border security.

We need to know who's coming in, what's coming in, where it's coming, why it's coming in, and we've achieved success on the border already.

We've got more work to do. And on top of that, as far as the deportation operation, we're just shy of, I think we got 5000 already arrested in the first week, and a majority of them being criminals— the noncriminals, the media's talking about ‘who are these noncriminals?’

The noncriminals are arrested in sanctuary cities because you force us into the community rather than arresting the bad guy in jail. And when we find that criminal, he's most likely with others, and they're going to go too.

So, if you want to be a sanctuary city, you're going to get exactly what you don't want: more agents in the community and more noncriminals arrested.
