The city of Oakland, California is losing their only In-N-Out Burger restaurant due to the city’s ongoing crime problem. The restaurant is profitable, but they can’t deal with the constant armed robberies, car beak-ins and more.
Crime in Oakland has been on the rise for months on end. The city has a Soros-backed DA who is currently facing a recall effort.
This is a good reminder that crime has a very real effect on the quality of life in a community. When the criminals rule, everyone else suffers.
The FOX Business Network reports:
Oakland, California’s only In-N-Out restaurant closing due to crime
A Bay Area In-N-Out Burger location is going to be shutting its doors due to crime.
The restaurant is the only one in Oakland, California. The company told FOX Business that regular car break-ins, property damage, theft and armed robberies of customers and employees led to the decision to shut down.
“We are grateful for the local community, which has supported us for over 18 years, and we recognize that this closure negatively impacts our Associates and their families,” Chief Operating Officer Danny Warwick said in a statement. “Additionally, this location remains a busy and profitable one for the company, but our top priority must be the safety and wellbeing of our Customers and Associates – we cannot ask them to visit or work in an unsafe environment.”
The fast-food company said they have unsuccessfully taken “repeated steps” to deter crime and maximize safety.
The restaurant will close its doors at the end of March. Here’s a short video report:

David Mamet is one of America’s greatest living playwrights and he is also a conservative. He wasn’t always a man of the right, but he went through a political transformation in the 2010s.
Mamet is a big fan of Donald Trump and he recently talked about it with a member of the press.
You have to give Mamet credit. He works in an incredibly leftist field, but it doesn’t cause him to censor himself at all. He speaks what he believes fearlessly.

That means his recent comments at unHerd.com won’t do serious damage to his Hollywood career. Said damage was already baked in…
His take on so-called “hate speech”
“…who gets to say what counts as hate speech? That’s where the power is. […] The most terrible thing in the world was the idea that there were certain crimes which are hate crimes. The question is not what did the person do, but what do we think about their motives in regard to certain societal norms which we have today.”
It’s his comments about Trump, the GOP’s likely presidential candidate, which might cause even liberals willing to give Mamet the benefit of the doubt pause, if not indigestion.
Trump was the best president since Abraham Lincoln. […] He brought peace to the Middle East. He closed the border. He made us an energy exporter. He had the best rating among African Americans of any president ever…. And the country was at peace and prosperous in the world. All of a sudden, he gets kicked out. And the world is a mess. But because the liberals cannot defend their position, all they can do is indict Trump….

The Democratic Socialists of America, one of AOC’s favorite political organizations, is facing a serious financial crunch and may have to lay people off.
Who knew that socialists would have such a hard time managing funds? It looks like they finally ran out of other people’s money.
Of course, this could have something to do with the insane pro-Hamas demonstrations that many of their members have participated in in recent months.
The New York Post reports:
Democratic Socialists face seven-figure ‘crisis’ amid Palestinian support that may force dreaded layoffs of staff
The Democratic Socialists of America are red all over — with a financial situation so dire that some leaders are demanding job cuts and the layoff of staffers just like a corporate America entity, The Post has learned.
The DSA — which has led protests against Israel over the Jewish state’s retaliatory response to Hamas’ Oct. 7 terror attack — is deep in a seven-figure hole and desperately in need of a way to stanch the red ink, members acknowledge.
“We will cut $500,000 from staff-related expenses. We will first ask for volunteers from both director-level and bargaining unit staff to have their position cut and receive severance,” according to a proposal advanced by members of DSA’s National Political Committee affiliated with its Marxist Bread and Roses caucus.
“If necessary, we will then explore initiating lay-offs according to the DSA union’s contract,” the DSA officers said.
The situation appears to be a case of an organization that blindly seeks utopia and professes support of the working class clashing with reality — forcing it to have to balance a budget like the rest of America and even contemplate layoffs hated by labor unions.

“DSA is in a financial crisis and staff-related costs account for 58% of our total expenditures and 72% of our projected income,” DSA members Alex Pellitteri, Kristin Schall and Laura Wadlin wrote in the proposal.
“The current deficit will force us to make 7-figure budget cuts. This will require us to make painful decisions that will impact all levels of the organization.… Given our current financial state, we do not believe we can have a healthy, democratic, and effective organization while spending the amount we currently do on staff,” they added.

In addition to the waves of human beings crossing America’s southern border every day, another crisis is unfolding. Thousands of dogs are being abandoned by the illegal border crossers who bring their pets only to learn that the dogs can’t come in.
These dogs that are left behind are then breeding which only makes the problem worse.
Back in December, we told you about one reporter who rescued a puppy that had been abandoned.
We clearly need more people to rescue these poor dogs.

There’s a crazy thing happening along the southern border — migrants attempting to enter the United States with their dogs are forced to leave them behind, and it’s creating a whole other crisis.
FNC reporter Matt Finn is on the ground in Eagle Pass, Texas and joined us Thursday on “TMZ Live” to reveal what he’s seeing firsthand … and how he and other TV crews are getting involved, and taking some of the dogs in themselves.
Matt says tons of migrants are trying to cross the border with their dogs, only to be told they can’t bring the pups with them to federal processing centers … resulting in strays roaming the border.
The circumstances leave dogs in need of food, water and shelter … and Matt says troops with the National Guard are taking care of some of the doggos … and he and his producer have helped out too.
