Paralympic gold medalist and convicted killer Oscar Pistorius was granted parole on Friday just 10 years after he shot his girlfriend to death.
The 37-year-old South African will be released from prison after serving about eight years of a 13-year sentence, The Associated Press reported.
Pistorius, a double amputee dubbed the “Blade Runner,” will be freed on Jan. 5 but will be monitored for the remainder of the time he was slated to spend behind bars.
He also must perform community service and attend programs on anger issues and violence against women.
Pistorius will not be able to leave Pretoria, where the killing took place, without permission, but he will not have to wear a monitoring device as that is not part of South African procedure, a government spokesman said.
The parole decision was met with outrage on social media:

Oscar Pistorius stole the life of Reeva Steenkamp, and served only 10 years in prison for it.
Now he’ll get to be out on parole and enjoy his family, while Reeva’s family will never have the joy of seeing her again.

Pistorius killed Reeva Steenkamp, 29, on Valentine’s Day 2013 when he fired four shots through his bathroom door, striking Steenkamp on the other side.
Pistorius claimed he thought Steenkamp was an intruder, but prosecutors argued he killed her in a fit of rage during an argument.
He was found guilty of culpable homicide in 2014 and sentenced to five years in prison, but was released to serve house arrest after a year, Reuters reported.
In 2015, an appeals court found Pistorius guilty of the more serious charge of murder. His 13-year sentence came down in 2017.
Steenkamp’s mother, June Steenkamp, was not opposed to Pistorius’ early release from prison but said she didn’t believe her daughter’s killer had been rehabilitated, the AP reported.
According to the Daily Mail, June Steenkamp also said she never believed Pistorius’ version of events.
“I do not believe … that he thought the person in the toilet was a burglar. In fact, I do not know anybody who does,” Steenkamp said in a statement read on her behalf at Friday’s parole hearing.
However, she added that she had “forgiven Oscar long ago, as I knew almost instantly that I would not be able to survive if I had to cling to my anger.”

Illegal aliens and black New Yorkers dependent on government handouts sparred over Thanksgiving dinner this year in Queens.
More than 8,000 illegals have flooded one Queens neighborhood where New York Housing Authority residents live and the scarce resources are causing a lot of tension between the two groups.
According to the New York Post: “Since last spring, over 72,000 people have flooded into Gotham with over 45,000 currently living in 160 taxpayer-funded emergency shelters and hotels.”
Illegal aliens lined up early to take the turkeys this year leaving the NYCHA residents without any Thanksgiving dinners.
“They was first on line for the turkeys this morning,” Georgia Butler, one NYC housing resident told Fox 5. “They tell you to be there at 11 o’clock. You get there at like 10:30, 10:45, but they are already out there. The line is from over there to over here.”
“Why do we have to take the brunt of everything?” Butler said. “This community is already suffering.”

It’s no secret that the city of San Francisco has been struggling in recent years to deal with an increase in homelessness, open drug use and crime.
What we don’t hear about very often is how this affects normal, law abiding people in the city who are trying to make a living and lead their lives.
One business owner who has been in the city for years is now saying he is finished and that the city cares more about drug addicts, criminals and homeless people than anyone else.

Business owner says he’s ‘done’ with San Francisco, claims government cares more about injection sites
A longtime owner of multiple businesses in San Francisco condemned local leaders for failing to keep the city safe for small businesses.
The San Francisco Chronicle reported that Mark Sackett has owned a “South of Market building with a printmaker, antiques shop and events venue called the Box SF for almost two decades” but now faces “financial ruin because he’s been unable to refinance a $2.5 million mortgage due in February.” As a result, his building is allegedly scheduled to be auctioned “at a massive loss” in January, as he anticipates his other businesses will be forced to close, as well.
“Sackett blames widespread drug use, violence and filthy streets in the neighborhood for his inability to address his loan. Since the pandemic, the area has fallen to the worst condition Sackett has ever experienced,” the outlet reported…
“Next door is a drug sobering center that opened last year, and Sackett said people will smoke fentanyl at his building’s loading dock,” it reported. “He said his staff used pepper spray on four people trying to break in, and last year, someone attacked him with a knife. A window is currently broken, and he will have to pay around $4,000 to replace it.”
The city is playing a dangerous game with people like this man. What happens when other business owners get fed up and leave the city, taking their tax revenue with them? Eventually, there is a tipping point that can’t be stopped.

Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, who pled guilty to federal charges in the 2020 death while in custody of 46-year-old George Floyd, was stabbed and seriously injured in prison on Friday by a fellow inmate, according to a report by the Associated Press. Chauvin, 47, was also convicted on state charges in Minnesota and is serving concurrent sentences of over 20 years on the federal and state charges.
The news of Chauvin’s stabbing was first reported by the AP’s Mike Sisak:

The AP report states Chauvin was taken to a hospital after receiving “life-saving measures” (excerpt):
The attack happened at the Federal Correctional Institution, Tucson, a medium-security prison that has been plagued by security lapses and staffing shortages. The person was not authorized to publicly discuss details of the attack and spoke to the AP on the condition of anonymity.
The Bureau of Prisons confirmed that an incarcerated person was assaulted at FCI Tucson at around 12:30 p.m. local time Friday. In a statement, the agency said responding employees contained the incident and performed “life-saving measures” before the inmate, who it did not name, was taken to a hospital for further treatment and evaluation.
…Chauvin, 47, was sent to FCI Tucson from a maximum-security Minnesota state prison in August 2022 to simultaneously serve a 21-year federal sentence for violating Floyd’s civil rights and a 22½-year state sentence for second-degree murder.
Chauvin’s lawyer, Eric Nelson, had advocated for keeping him out of general population and away from other inmates, anticipating he’d be a target. In Minnesota, Chauvin was mainly kept in solitary confinement “largely for his own protection,” Nelson wrote in court papers last year.
On Monday, the Supreme Court declined to hear Chauvin’s appeal of his conviction in state court in Minnesota (CNN excerpt):
The US Supreme Court on Monday rejected an appeal from former Minnesota police officer Derek Chauvin, who was convicted of murder in the 2020 killing of George Floyd.
Chauvin was found guilty in April 2021 of second-degree unintentional murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter in Floyd’s death. He was sentenced to 22 1/2 years in prison – which exceeded Minnesota’s sentencing guidelines range of 10 years and eight months to 15 years.
Chauvin later pleaded guilty to federal charges of violating Floyd’s civil rights and was sentenced to 21 years in prison to run concurrently with his state sentence.
…Chauvin claimed in his appeal against conviction he had not received a fair trial because jurors in his case may have had a vested interest against acquitting, out of fear of instigating more street protests and violence.

Chauvin is now seeking to overturn his conviction on the federal charge, arguing in a filing last week that he wouldn’t have pleaded guilty had he been aware of the theories of a Kansas-based pathologist who does not believe Floyd died as a result of Chauvin’s actions.
Chauvin was quoted in a new documentary this week disputing the grounds of his conviction, according to Collin Rugg:

The comments from Chauvin is featured as part of a new documentary, The Fall of Minneapolis.
The documentary suggests the FBI altered Floyd’s autopsy as noted by the film’s producer, Liz Collin.
Collin suggests the FBI was involved with altering the autopsy report to assert that Chauvin killed Floyd by kneeling while the original report did not mention asphyxiation.
During an interview with Collin, Chauvin called the trial a “sham” and blamed the ambulance for taking too long to respond to the call.
Chauvin also referred to the Maximal Restraint Technique (MRT), the technique he was trained to do and claims he used.
“This isn’t the end and this won’t define me. What’s been done is done and I just hope that at the very least on the future people keep an open mind and not let instances like this happen,” he said.
“Just use my case an example as to not jump the gun knee jerk, not fall to this race-bait, to the social media, to the media, and let them get away with what they do if things like this keep happening.”

Sean Hannity has produced a new Christmas comedy special called ‘Jingle Smells’ which stars John Schneider, Jim Breuer, Eric Roberts and other familiar faces. Who knew?
Andrew Breitbart famously said that politics is downstream from culture. He wanted to see conservatives get more involved in the arts and entertainment. It looks like Hannity is taking him at his word.
The new special is available on Rumble but you can watch the trailer below.

Sean Hannity is out with a new movie — Jingle Smells, an up-to-the-minute Christmas comedy that sends up cancel culture and artificial intelligence technology. The movie debuted Thanksgiving on Rumble, making it the first non-documentary feature to premiere on the free-speech video platform.
Jingle Smells, which is executive produced by Hannity and Logan Sekulow, tells the story of the fallout after a Hollywood star (James Storm) gets cancelled for expressing his patriotic views. The studio orders his latest performance to be digitally replaced by AI while his action figure toys are to be pulled from the shelves and destroyed.
Enter war veteran Nick Gutman (Ben Davies), who is forced to take a job with his dad’s (John Schneider) garbage men buddies in a mission to find and destroy the toys by Christmas Eve.
Eric Roberts plays the executive who pulls the trigger on the action figures.
