DEVELOPING: Capitol Police Arrest Man Armed with Machete and Knives Attempting to Enter Capitol Ahead of Trump’s Visit

Capitol Police officers arrested a man attempting to enter the premises with a machete and three knives concealed in his bag.

The incident took place shortly after 2:00 p.m. at the north entrance of the Capitol Visitor Center, leading to a temporary suspension of security screening operations in the area.

It occurred just ahead of President Trump’s scheduled meeting with lawmakers.

The suspect, whose identity has not yet been released, was immediately arrested for multiple charges.

Authorities are currently investigating his motives and any potential threats associated with the incident.

According to the Capitol Police:

During security screening at the CVC’s north doors, our officers spotted a machete in the man’s bag, stopped the x-ray machine, arrested the man, and secured the machete.

Three knives were also found in the bag, along with the machete. Security screening was temporarily stopped at the north side of the Capitol Visitor Center while we investigated.

The man is being arrested for multiple charges of Carrying a Dangerous Weapon. We will provide more information once it is available.

At the time Capitol Police confiscated the machete, former President Jimmy Carter’s casket lay in the Capitol Rotunda, according to the New York Post.

Later in the day, Trump was scheduled to visit the Capitol to pay his respects to Carter and meet with Senate Republicans to discuss the GOP agenda.

A similar incident occurred in 2023 when Capitol Police arrested a man on Capitol grounds after his suspicious behavior caught the attention of officers. Upon investigation, the man was found to be carrying a machete, a butcher knife, and a brick.

The suspect was later identified as a 23-year-old illegal alien from Venezuela who had been arrested by Border Patrol agents near El Paso in 2022 and released because there was no room to hold him. The man is now facing “removal proceedings,” ICE said.

Capitol Police statement dated December 27, 2023:

At approximately 4:15 p.m., a USCP officer saw a man pacing back and forth, then sit down on a ledge on the east side of U.S. Capitol. After witnessing the man’s strange behavior the officer approached the man. After speaking with him for a few minutes, the officer noticed a brick in the man’s pocket. The officer asked him to toss the brick to the side. After he complied, the man also pulled out a knife and placed the knife on the ledge. The officer called for backup and secured the knife.

Then the officer noticed the handle of a machete under the man’s clothing. The officer drew his service weapon and ordered the man to put his hands up. The man complied and officers were able to safely take the machete away from the man and make the arrest.

The suspect has been identified as 23 year old Jose Leonardo Marquez of no fixed address.

While the investigation continues, it is not yet clear what Marquez was doing in Washington, D.C. At this time, there is no evidence that Marquez was targeting Members of Congress. So far he is being charged with Carrying a Dangerous Weapon and Possession of a Prohibited Weapon.

Biden talks about himself during California wildfire briefing

Joe Biden once again made a crisis about himself.

Biden crawled out of his hole on Wednesday to join California Governor Gavin Newsom in a briefing on the wildfires raging out of control in Los Angeles.

Gusty Santa Ana winds are making it nearly impossible for firefighters to contain the fire.

More than 70,000 residents were evacuated as fires quickly spread through Malibu, Pacific Palisades, Altadena and Sylmar.

At least 2 people have died, many more are injured and the fire remains at 0% containment.

Joe Biden cut off the fire briefing to talk about himself.

“The good news is, I’m a great-grandfather as of today!” Biden said. “So I’ll remember this day for a lot longer.”

Even Gavin Newsom was appalled by Biden’s selfish outburst.

Meanwhile, more than 1,000 homes in Los Angeles have burned.

British PM Starmer refuses to investigate the Muslim grooming gangs.

After decades of sweeping under the rug the massive tragedy of millions of raped and trafficked girls by Muslim grooming gangs, it did seem that now, with all the international pressure we are applying, this issue would be investigated as thoroughly as it should.

But, no – Labour MPs have voted to block a national inquiry into the grooming gangs.

The Telegraph reported:

“The amendment put forward by Conservative MPs that would have piled pressure on the Government to hold a statutory inquiry into historic child sexual exploitation was voted down by 364 to 111.

Keir Starmer insisted on Wednesday that victims wanted ‘action now, not the delay of a further inquiry’.

“It comes after revelations that Jess Phillips refused to fund an inquiry into historical child sexual abuse in Oldham, despite a request from the town’s council.

Kemi Badenoch, the Leader of the Opposition, said that voters would fear a ‘cover up’ if the Government did not order an inquiry at a national level.”

The weak Conservatives did what they do: complain.

Tories accused Starmer of using his ‘supermajority’ to block the inquiry.

Chris Philp, shadow home secretary:

“It is disgusting that Keir Starmer has used his supermajority in Parliament to block a national inquiry into the rape gangs scandal.

Labour MPs have put their Party ahead of getting to the truth and turned a blind eye to justice for the victims. [They] will have to explain to the British people why they are against learning the truth behind the torture and rape of countless vulnerable girls. We will not let them forget this act of cowardice.”

As wildfires rage on in Los Angeles, California, and firefighters are unable to subdue the blazes, attention has turned to Los Angeles City’s lesbian DEI Fire Chief Kristin Crowley and her prioritization of hiring women and gays instead of focusing on public safety. 

As The Gateway Pundit reported, evacuations were underway Tuesday as a massive wildfire raged out of control and engulfed homes in Pacific Palisades, California.

As residents fled and abandoned their homes and cars, and the fire became more untamable, firefighters were struggling with a loss of water pressure on hydrants and were unable to do anything.

Several massive fires are currently burning in Los Angeles County: Pacific Palisades, Eaton, Bert, Sylmar, Tamarack, and King.

Now, many are pointing out the fact that the first female and lesbian LAFD Chief was unprepared for the incident, likely due to her focus on fostering a culture of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).

Here's a clip of her explaining her vision for the department. "It's never enough," she said of the number of female and LGBTQ firefighters she wants in the department:

According to Crowley's biography on the Los Angeles Fire Department's webpage, Crowley, the first female and LGBTQ Fire Chief, is responsible for "protecting four million people in Los Angeles."  She has also been "instrumental" in the Department's youth development program, where she trained over 1,000 students from local high schools and ostensibly brainwashed them with her DEI propaganda.

"Creating, supporting, and promoting a culture that values diversity, inclusion, and equity while striving to meet and exceed the expectations of the communities are Chief Crowley’s priorities, and she is grateful for the opportunity to serve the City of Los Angeles," Crowley's bio reads. 

Newsmax host Todd Starnes laid it all out in an X post:

The LAFD Chief earned national acclaim as a pioneer for diversity within the firefighting community.
Kristin Crowley is the first woman and first LGBT person to lead the LAFD. Those were among the top qualifications Los Angeles wanted in their fire chief.
Chief Crowley made diversity, equity and inclusion the fire department's top priority since 2022.
Some might say the results have been beyond catastrophic.

The Libs of TikTok account pointed out how she boasts about being the first female and LGBTQ Fire Chief in history to lead the LAFD and her DEI priorities, asking, "Does this make you feel safer?"

Paul Szypula highlighted her massive salary and benefits package, amounting to over $600k.

This is what happens when the left puts DEI over competence and safety.

As Californians face the terrifying and deadly conditions as wildfires rage, committed leftists care less about the pain and suffering of others, preferring to instead cheer on a ‘gotcha’ moment against conservatives.

Actor James Woods, a powerful conservative voice in the woke, leftist Hollywood swamp, lives in an area directly impacted by the fires.

Woods has been tweeting the impact as the flames move closer, sharing the devasting impact on his neighborhood.

An emotional Woods joined CNN to discuss the tragedy.

But Karen Piper, a professor at Mizzou, took a few moments out of her busy schedule to tweet a vile comment to Woods, seeming to cheer that he may lose everything.

She called it “karma.”

Note that Piper deliberately did not tag Woods in her cowardly tweet, which said, “James Woods’ house is burning down. It’s karma calling.”

After thousands of replies and comments to Mizzou on why they have someone teaching students who is willing to share such vile comments publicly, Piper removed the post.  But the internet is forever.

Several fires are raging in Los Angeles as unrelenting gusty Santa Ana winds tear through the region.

According to AccuWeather, gusts reached nearly 100 miles per hour in some areas of the greater Los Angeles basin and mountains.

More than 70,000 residents were evacuated as fires quickly spread through Malibu, Pacific Palisades, Altadena and Sylmar.

At least 2 people have died, many more are injured and the fire remains at 0% containment.

Dramatic video of a man and his dog in his Pacific Palisades home as a wall of fire surrounded the residence was posted to X.

The man reportedly fled the home in time.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass (D) cut fire department funding by $17.6 million months before the wildfire.

The fire hydrants are running dry and Karen Bass is currently in Africa.

Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom refused to sign the water restoration declaration that would have allowed millions of gallons of water to flow into California.

Newsom watched his state burn on Tuesday.

Trump slammed Democrat Governor Newsom.

“Governor Gavin Newscum refused to sign the water restoration declaration put before him that would have allowed millions of gallons of water, from excess rain and snow melt from the North, to flow daily into many parts of California, including the areas that are currently burning in a virtually apocalyptic way. He wanted to protect an essentially worthless fish called a smelt, by giving it less water (it didn’t work!), but didn’t care about the people of California. Now the ultimate price is being paid. I will demand that this incompetent governor allow beautiful, clean, fresh water to FLOW INTO CALIFORNIA! He is the blame for this. On top of it all, no water for fire hydrants, not firefighting planes. A true disaster!” Trump said on Truth Social.
