Republican vice presidential nominee Sen. J.D. Vance (OH) and family visited the Park Diner in Waite Park, Minnesota Sunday morning where he was given a hero’s welcome by a cheering crowd of supporters outside and inside the diner.

Vance’s speech at a rally with President Trump in St. Cloud Saturday night where he lit up presumptive Democratic Party presidential nominee Kamala Harris for questioning his loyalty to the country went viral overnight with over seven million views.

About one hundred supporters were gathered outside to greet Vance, his wife Usha and their two children as they stopped by for a planned campaign stop, The diner was packed inside with supporters, many of whom had attended the rally the night before.

The Trump campaign is making a play for Minnesota, having come close but falling short in 2016 and losing the state by a larger margin in 2020.

Vance spoke to diners and then with a co-owner and a state GOP donor while the kids drank chocolate milk at the counter. Vance picked up a carryout order and left a $200 cash tip with the Trump campaign message “No Tax on Tips” written above his signature on the receipt.

Voters liked what they saw in Vance, according to a report by the Minneapolis Star Tribune (excerpt):

Vance, a senator from Ohio, was propelled to the national spotlight two weeks ago when he was named Trump’s vice presidential nominee. At Park Diner in Waite Park, just west of St. Cloud, voters said they like what they are seeing so far.

“I’m very impressed. It’s good to see a young person with good values, good morals, good common sense,” said Ken Cruze, 64, of Sartell. “That’s encouraging for the next generation.”

Joyce Heffron, 67, of Little Falls learned of Vance’s breakfast visit while volunteering at Saturday’s rally at St. Cloud State University. She said she was excited to see Vance’s wife and children join him, saying it epitomized “Midwestern values.”

Heffron said the energy she experienced at the rally — which had a capacity crowd of 8,000 people in the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center, as well as hundreds more outside the venue — makes her think the Trump-Vance ticket could turn Minnesota red this fall.

“We’ve never seen this much energy directed toward a candidate,” she said. “This would be the year for them to do it.”

After chatting with folks inside the diner, Vance was cheered on by a group of more than 100 voters gathered outside.

Democrats and their allies in the media have been attacking Vance, trying to undermine him on the ticket by spreading false rumors and running psy-ops like this one by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY):

Meanwhile support for Vance is growing, according to a poll released Thursday by Morning Consult, “66% of Trump’s 2020 voters hold favorable opinions of JD Vance, up from 38% before his vice presidential selection.”

The city of San Francisco is once again urging people to wear face nappies in indoor settings in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, more than four years after the pandemic began.

In a post to the X platform, the San Francisco Department of Public Health urged people to wear a “well-fitted mask” while in certain indoor spaces.

“Make this summer a healthy one for yourself and others,” the post read. “With COVID-19 circulating, please consider wearing a well-fitted mask in crowded indoor spaces”

In a statement provided to the San Francisco Chronicle, the city attributed its warning to “rising coronavirus wastewater levels across San Francisco and California.”

The paper reported:

The city’s seven-day average test positivity rate is 6.5%, compared to a statewide level of 13.8% as of Friday, with more recent figures still pointing to an increase. Some indicators hint the swell may be easing, as statewide emergency room visits rose at a slower pace than in recent weeks. Still, California is among 36 states experiencing rising infections, per CDC figures.

Elon Musk, owner and Chief Technology Officer of the social media platform X, still has work to do.

According to a remarkable and unnerving study by the Media Research Center, Musk’s oft-stated and apparently sincere desire to transform X into a bastion of free speech has produced no meaningful improvement in the platform’s algorithm, which amplifies elected leftists and throttles their conservative counterparts.

MRC credited Musk with having “made strides” toward free speech. But data collected by MRC researchers suggested that “remnants of the Old Twitter censorship regime” remain.

Between July 1 and 2, MRC researchers used Grok, X’s AI search assistant, to conduct eight tests designed to determine how the platform assigns visibility scores for members of Congress. That matters because the visibility score dictates which accounts X boosts and which accounts it suppresses.

In short, the tests found that congressional visibility scores depended on four weighted factors: Mass Appeal (38 percent), Reputation (30 percent), Toxicity (21 percent), and Follow (11 percent).

Those factors, of course, should set off alarm bells in readers’ minds. After all, “Mass Appeal” and “Follow” could have objective components, but “Reputation” and “Toxicity” are entirely subjective.

Indeed, when applied to elected legislators and their X accounts, those factors had staggering consequences.

For instance, MRC found that “X gave a distinct advantage to Democrats” in Congress.

Furthermore, the X algorithm preferred leftists to moderates and moderates to conservatives.

“Generally speaking, the more left-leaning a congressional member is, the more visible their account is to X platform users. On the flip side, the more right-leaning a congressional member is, the more their account is penalized by the algorithm,” per MRC.

Average visibility scores support this contention of algorithmic bias. On a 0-100 scale, Senate Democrats received an average visibility score of 82.4 compared to only 66.8 for Senate Republicans. Meanwhile, House Democrats received an average visibility score of 67 compared to only 58.6 for their GOP colleagues.

But those averages tell only part of the story. Among 100 senators, for instance, the top 42 visibility scores went to Democrats.

One could scarcely imagine a more brazen act of election interference than the clandestine amplification of left-leaning politicians’ X accounts.

Specific examples make the story even worse.

Shockingly, MRC found that X’s algorithm considers race-baiting Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters of California “the least toxic, most reputable, and highest-ranked House member.”

Furthermore, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York received the highest overall visibility rating of any elected legislator.

Crucially, MRC did not blame Musk for those absurd ratings. Instead, the study cited what it called “an internal revolt against Musk within the company’s ranks.”

Musk’s 2022 purchase of Twitter, later rebranded as X, exposed the degree to which government officials had colluded with social media platforms to censor conservatives and anyone who deviated from the establishment’s official narrative, especially on COVID-related policies.

As the MRC study showed, however, the fight against leftist authoritarianism continues.

Republican Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) joined CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday with Jake Tapper to discuss Kamala Harris’ record of being a “San Francisco liberal.”

They also discussed the recent attack on Israel that targeted a soccer field killing at least 11 people, primarily children and very young adults, and wounding at least 40 others.

“What do you know about the Israeli response and how worried are you that this could escalate into a larger regional conflict?” Tapper asked.

“Well Jake, what I’m worried about is Iranian-backed terrorists continuing to blow up innocent children in Israel. That’s what we saw yesterday in this heinous attack,” Senator Cotton said.

“This week Kamala Harris in her very first statement and still to my knowledge only statement on a matter of great public importance came out after a meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu and equivocated between Hamas and Israel and effectively blamed Israel for civilian casualties in Gaza or for the lack of food in Gaza that Hamas is diverting from aid stations,” Cotton continued.

“This is who Kamala Harris always has been, this is who she will be, a San Francisco liberal who cannot keep this country safe,” Cotton continued.

Since this is CNN, they had to make a big deal about President Trump making a joke to conservative Christians about not having to vote after he is back in office.

Senator Cotton came to Trump’s defense about the statement.

“I want you to take a listen to something former President Trump said Friday night at a gathering of conservative Christians,” Tapper said.

“In 4 years you don’t have to vote again. We’ll have it fixed so good, you’re not gonna have to vote,” Trump said.

“I think he was obviously making a joke about how bad things have been under Joe Biden and how good they’ll be if we send President Trump back to the White House so he can turn the country around again,” Cotton said.

“Under Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, everything has gone to hell, and it will be much worse under Kamala Harris. Just look at her record,” Senator Cotton continued.

“Kamala Harris is a dangerous liberal. She makes Joe Biden look competent and moderate by contrast,” Senator Cotton said.

At the 2024 Paris Olympics, Tajikistan’s Nurali Emomali defeated Israel’s judoka Baruch Shmailov in judo.

When the match was over, the victorious Emomali refused to shake Shmailov’s hand and instead allegedly shouted ‘Allah Akbar’ at him.

In what some are calling instant karma,  at the conclusion of his next match against Japan’s Hifumi Abe, a defeated Emomali lay on the mat after having his shoulder dislocated.

Nurali Emomali from Tajikistan refused to shake hands today with Baruch Shmailov, the Israeli competitor in the Olympic Judo competition, and instead chose to shout “Allah Akbar.”

Moments later, he was crying because he had dislocated his shoulder.

Shmailov defeated Abderrahmane Boushita from Morocco to advance to face Emomali. Boushita also refused to shake hands with Shmailov.

In Paris, Baruch Shmailov kicked off the Olympic judo competition with a victory over his Moroccan opponent, Abderrahmane Boushita.

When Boushita refused to shake his hand after the match, Shmailov pointed to the Israeli flag on his uniform.

Although the Olympic Committee talks a good game when it comes to “sportsmanship” and “bringing the world together,” there are no consequences for athletes who are openly hostile to other countries for political or ideological reasons.
