A Venezuelan woman living in New York has filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration for ending deportation protection.
Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem recently rescinded Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Venezuelans. This means that it will end on April 7.
The plaintiff, identified only as “K.F” in the federal lawsuit, claims that she had protested against Venezuelan President Nicholas Maduro in 2018 and later fled to the United States.
“She is terrified of returning to Venezuela, given the persecution directed at activists and professionals perceived as activists, from forced disappearances to prolonged incarceration without food or light,” the complaint, filed by migrant rights groups, states.
The organizations Make the Road New York and CASA filed the lawsuit in Maryland on behalf of “K.F.” and other migrants.
Noem and the Department of Homeland Security are both named in the complaint.
Former DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas had extended TPS for Venezuelans at the end of the Biden administration.
When announcing the end of TPS, DHS said that the situation in Venezuela has improved enough that Venezuelans in America can now return.
“After reviewing country conditions and consulting with the appropriate U.S. government agencies, Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem has determined that conditions in Venezuela no longer support the 2023 designation of Venezuela for Temporary Protected Status (TPS),” DHS said in a statement on February 3.

American Bar Association Suspends DEI Requirements for Law Schools

The American Bar Association has suspended law school diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) requirements.
The ABA Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar voted during a meeting in San Antonio on Friday to end the requirement until August 31 while it reviews the policy.
The change comes as President Donald Trump has vowed to gut all government programs with DEI policies.
Daniel Thies, chair-elect of the council and co-chair of its Strategic Review Committee, told the ABA Journal that the changes were due to Trump’s executive orders.
“The committee’s view is that with the executive orders and the law being in flux, it would be an extreme hardship for law schools if our standards were to require them to do certain things that may cause them to take more litigation risks and potentially violate the law,” Thies said, according to the ABA Journal.
The ABA Journal reports:
In addition, the council’s standard committee will take a new look at Standard 205, titled “Non‐Discrimination and Equality of Opportunity,” said Carla D. Pratt, chair of the Strategic Review Committee. But its enforcement was not suspended. Also, no action was recommended regarding Standard 303-C, which requires law schools to provide education related to cultural competence, racism and bias.
The section’s council is recognized by the Department of Education as the sole accrediting body for U.S. law schools and is an independent arm of the ABA for that function. Most states require applicants of the state bar to be graduates of an ABA-accredited law school.
Attorney General Pam Bondi has called the decision a “victory for common sense.”
Yesterday, the American Bar Association voted to suspend enforcement of Standard 206 – a DEI requirement for the student bodies and faculties of law schools.
This is a victory for common sense. We are bringing meritocracy back to the legal system.

Zelensky Says $350 Billion in Frozen Russian Assets are “Our Money, Not Ours with Our Partners” – Says $100 Billion Given by Biden to Ukraine Was a “Grant and Not a Loan”
February 23, 2025
President Zelensky says Russia’s $350 billion in frozen assets belong to Ukraine and no one else.
Trump was right. This little madman will only get in the way of peace negotiations.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke to a gathering in Kiev on Sunday. The speech took place as President Trump and the Trump White House prepare to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss peace negotiations with Ukraine.
Zelensky told the “Ukraine. Year 2025” forum that he was not recognizing any debt to the US.
Speaking at the ‘Ukraine. Year – 2025’ forum in Kiev on Sunday, Zelensky stated that “Ukraine received $100 billion [in aid] from the US, not $350, not $500, not $700,” stressing that he was “not ready to recognize even $100 billion” as debt. He claimed that he had reached an agreement with former US President Joe Biden that the money was being provided as a grant, and that no repayment had been expected.
Zelensky also announced that the frozen $350 billion in Russian assets by the West belong to Ukraine and no one else.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Sunday that frozen Russian assets should belong solely to Ukraine, not Kyiv’s international partners.
“Frozen Russian assets are our money. It is our money, not shared with our partners,” Zelensky said during a press conference at the “Ukraine. The Year 2025” forum in Kyiv.
Since Russia began its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Western countries have used sanctions and other financial mechanisms to freeze between $300 billion and $350 billion of Russian sovereign assets, mostly government bonds held in the EU, the US, and the UK.
It’s unlikely Russia or the West will agree to that.
JUST IN: Zelensky says that he received only $100 billion in U.S. aid as grant, not a loan.

I don’t even recognize $100 billion. We agreed with Biden that it was a grant, not a debt.” pic.twitter.com/3enLFBz1Tl

Perhaps because Minnesota Democrat Senator Tina Smith announced she would not seek reelection in 2026, she is comfortable unleashing vulgarity on social media without fear of repercussions.
Smith is up in arms because federal employees were asked to perform the shocking task that takes place in the private sector every single day- send an email detailing what they got done last week.
Musk shared on X, “Consistent with President @realDonaldTrump’s instructions, all federal employees will shortly
receive an email requesting to understand what they got done last week.”
“Failure to respond will be taken as a resignation.”

Asking employees what they accomplished during work they are paid for what simply too much for Smith. She responded to the reasonable request and expectation by calling Musk a d**k and an a**hole.
This is the ultimate dick boss move from Musk – except he isn’t even the boss, he’s just a dick. pic.twitter.com/3fSs2ud7Cz
She followed up saying, “I bet a lot of people have had an experience like this with a bad boss – there’s an email in your inbox on Saturday night saying, ‘Prove to me your worthiness by Monday or else.’”
“I’m on the side of the workers, not the billionaire a**hole bosses.”
Musk had the perfect response to Smith, “What did you get done last week?”
