HHS Secretary Kennedy Targets Psychiatric Drug Links to Violence

Newly confirmed Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, Robert Kennedy, Jr., has been assigned the chair of the newly established Make America Healthy Again Commission and, apparently, antidepressants will finally get a much-needed review.

Specifically, Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs) long have been the antidepressant “treatment” of choice for numerous alleged mental disorders. That’s right…” alleged.” Let’s just get it straight at the beginning so there’s no mistake about what is and is not being “treated.”

There is no science to support any objective, confirmable abnormality, that is any psychiatric diagnosis. That does not mean that people do not experience depression, anxiety, high and lows, etc. It simply means that psychiatric diagnosing is completely subjective, making it difficult, if not impossible, to realistically “treat” a non-existing abnormality. What is being “treated” is a behavior, which is exactly what psychiatry studies…behaviors. Neurologists, not psychiatrists, study diseases (abnormalities) of the brain.

Now, having said that, long ago the “chemical imbalance” theory became the psycho/pharmaceutical answer as the cause behind most of the unwanted, bothersome, life-interrupting behaviors. The mantra was “your depression is due to a chemical imbalance.” You’re depressed? Take an SSRI. You’re anxious? Take an SSRI. On and on. SSRIs were the answer to happy land.

Over the forty-odd years since the first SSRI, Eli Lilly’s Prozac (Fluoxetine), hit the market, much has been learned, including that the “chemical imbalance” does not exist and was thoroughly debunked by Professor Joanna Moncrief in 2023. And, more importantly, the public has learned that SSRI antidepressants have some serious adverse events associated with use.

First and foremost, it is important to recall that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requires a Black Box Waring for suicidality on all antidepressants. That’s right, the FDA believes that taking the mind-altering drugs can cause someone to commit suicide. But frankly, there are other dangerous side effects, including the following examples a few antidepressants:

Zoloft: emotional lability, aggravated depression, aggressive reaction, aggression, agitation, anxiety, depersonalization, depression, nightmares, mania, hallucination, psychosis, paranoia, suicidal ideation, and suicide attempt.

Prozac: insomnia, anxiety, abnormal dreams, agitation, hostility, hypomania, mania, personality disorder, abnormal thinking, depersonalization, paranoid reaction, psychosis, suicidal thoughts and behavior, suicide attempt, aggression, delusions, and hallucinations.

Trazadone: Confusion, mania/hypomania, aggressive reaction, agitation (sometimes exacerbating to delirium), anxiety, cognitive impairment, confusional state, delusions, discontinuation syndrome, hallucinations, hypomania, insomnia, mania, nightmares, restlessness, suicidal behavior, suicidal ideation, suicidal thoughts, abnormal dreams, paranoid reaction, psychosis.

It is of interest that a recent article by NBC’s Nathan Howard poo pooed much of what is known about the psychiatric mind-altering antidepressants. Howard writes, “Kennedy has amplified false claims linking SSRIs to school shootings. He maintained in the recent hearings that he believes a possible connection “should be studied, along with other potential culprits.”

AbleChild can only assume that NBC’s Howard did zero research into the issue because had the NBC reporter done even a cursory review, he would have learned that there are numerous school shooters who were on prescribed antidepressants and other mind-altering drugs at the time of the shooting. But Howard writes that a 2019 study found that most school shooters had not taken psychotropic medications…” Hmm… Let’s consider a few just off the top of the head.

Columbine shooter, 18 year-old Eric Harris reportedly had been prescribed antidepressants Zoloft and Luvox when he and Dylan Klebold shot and killed 12 and wounded 24, 16 year-old Jeff Weise, 2005, Red Lake, Minnesota had been prescribed Prozac at three times the starting dose for an adult when he killed 7 and wounded nine, and 15 year-old Kip Kinkle had been prescribed Ritalin and Prozac when he killed two and wounded 25 others at Thurston High School in Springfield, Oregon in 1988. Those are just a few that come to mind. There are dozens of adolescent shooters who were drugged, and it is impossible to forget Nikolas Cruz. Cruz went to Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and killed 17 and wounded 17 in Parkland Florida. The 19-year-old had been prescribed cocktails of psychiatric drugs since the age of seven.

AbleChild would ask Howard that if there is no abnormality in the brain that is any psychiatric diagnosis, what exactly is the psychiatric drug “treating?” Of course, the answer is that neither the psychiatric community nor the pharmaceutical companies have a clear answer for what causes the ever-increasing list of alleged mental disorders. In fact, the pharmaceutical companies are honest enough with their drug inserts to state they don’t know how the drug works in the brain for any psychiatric diagnosis. The pharmaceuticals “believe” the drug works by doing this or that, but there is no certainty. What is certain is that like illegal drug use the prescribed drugs will change behavior.

Howard is sure, however, to mention “the increased attention on SSRIs has prompted mental health advocacy groups to speak up in support of the medications.” Who isn’t surprised that the mental health industry supports medications? After all, the nation is in a mental health “crisis” and the nation turns to those “experts” for help. More often than not, that “help” comes in the form of a psychiatric drug.

But Secretary Kennedy, it seems, would like to know why the nation is in a mental health “crisis” and has the temerity to wonder if these mind-altering drugs may be part of the problem. AbleChild says “Hallelujah!” Someone’s open enough and concerned enough to ask tough questions.

Let’s be honest. It’s no secret that mental health funding and psychiatric drugging increase every year. Is it possible that Kennedy, like so many who are aware of the dangers associated with psychiatric drugs, may be asking why no one is getting better? And, heaven help us, the new Secretary is even willing to step on some psycho/pharma toes to find out.

It isn’t difficult to understand why Howard’s article seems to support the use of SSRIs. After reading the article thoroughly, NBC’s Howard failed to disclose just how much money NBC is paid for pharmaceutical advertising. To coin a popular phrase of the former administration, “Pharmaceutical Revenue Matters.” And, according to one report, in the first eight months of 2024, pharmaceuticals paid out $3.4 billion, more than an 8 percent YoY increase.

Dan Bongino released an emotional, heartfelt statement after he was appointed as Deputy Director of the FBI.

Former Secret Service Agent Dan Bongino was named FBI Deputy Director on Sunday.

Bongino, 50, served as a Secret Service agent from 1999-2011.

Bongino fought back tears as he addressed his audience on Monday morning.

“President Trump, AG Bondi, and FBI Director Patel offered this role. I’m going to accept the role proudly. I love you guys,” Dan Bongino said holding back tears.

According to the left-wing media and Democrats, the solution to restoring democracy in America—and avoiding comparisons to Hitler—is to stop auditing government departments for waste and corruption and to open the floodgates for money to Ukraine. Additionally, the president is expected to go along with every globalist policy, even if it proves detrimental to the country.

The media claims that Trump’s approval ratings have dropped, attributing it to his actions since taking office. They argue that his base regrets voting for him. However, many conservatives on Twitter are expressing that they don’t know a single Trump voter who regrets their decision.

There are also claims suggesting that CNN only polled non-Trump voters, which would explain the negative view—those who didn’t vote for Trump are naturally less favorable. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean that most Americans disapprove of efforts like cutting government waste, ending DEI, securing the border, or considering a halt to funding for Ukraine.

In the election, Trump won the trifecta—the popular vote, the electoral vote, and the seven swing states.  And now, most of those who voted for him are not only satisfied with his actions but also recognize that he may be the first politician in history to keep all of his campaign promises and move at such a fast pace.

Among the Trump policies critics point to as damaging to the nation or as justification for people to regret their vote are:

Executive Orders and Federal Funding Freeze: Shortly after assuming office, President Trump signed executive orders freezing federal funding. However, his base supports this move, as conservatives desire a complete overhaul of the government.

In contrast, any other administration would have formed a task force of highly paid government employees, who would spend a year investigating waste, producing a report, and then making recommendations, likely at a cost higher than the savings they propose.

Instead, Trump and DOGE (Department of Government Overhaul and Efficiency) are taking a more direct approach by dismantling the system from the roots. They froze all funding and are now reviewing which programs to restart and which to cut. This is a complete overhaul, which was desperately needed. Anything less would be like slapping a fresh coat of paint on the Titanic.

Critics claim that Americans disapprove of Elon Musk’s appointment as head of DOGE, with many highlighting that Musk was not elected. However, only the president and Congress are elected; all other government employees, including advisors, are appointed. No one questions the authority of agencies like the DOJ, FBI, or IRS simply because their personnel were not elected.

Furthermore, Trump supporters approve of Musk’s involvement in investigating government waste. Part of the appeal of both Musk and Trump is that they are not traditional politicians. They come from the private sector and understand the importance of cutting waste, improving efficiency, and turning a profit. In order to do his job, Musk needs access to government departments.

Conservatives also rightly note that Musk already holds top secret and higher clearances due to his work with NASA and other government agencies. The media’s criticism that Musk is “gaining access” to classified documents is misguided. While, yes, he is gaining access, it is with proper authorization, and the suggestion that this is improper is misplaced.

Alongside the claims about DOGE are the “heroic” stories of government employees blocking Musk’s access to sensitive files. The individuals impeding Musk’s work are hindering the operation of the government, and this will not be tolerated under this administration.

One of the biggest differences between Trump’s first and second terms is his awareness of leftists within the government who falsely believe they can refuse to implement policies they disagree with. Under Trump 2.0, they will be fired, and states that do not comply will not receive federal funding.

The possible DOGE $5,000 rebate check is another issue that Democrats are attacking. They claim it will cause inflation and argue that the U.S. government shouldn’t be in the business of handing out free money. This is ironic, given that the Democrats are always handing out free money, and Joe Biden caused the worst inflation in 40 years.

Inflation is a monetary phenomenon caused by the expansion of the money supply and credit expansion due to the government printing money. The COVID stimulus and the disastrous Inflation Relief Act caused massive inflation for this reason.

However, the DOGE rebate check is coupled with a reduction in government spending and debt, so it is more than balanced.

Additionally, for those upset that aid to certain causes has been cut, they can donate the money to the charity of their choice. In fact, moving forward, this would be a very fair and democratic way to handle U.S. aid—give each citizen a check and let them decide where to donate it.

Trump is doing exactly what he promised to do: draining the swamp.

There has almost never been another example in history of a president coming into office and making good on campaign promises at such breakneck speed. While there will be some pain in the process, the end result will be a better country, with a more balanced budget, lower debt, safer streets, and aid going to good causes rather than being wasted.

Lester Holt will be stepping down as NBC News’ nightly news anchor.

NBC News reported that Holt announced he would be leaving the long-running broadcast at the beginning of the summer. The outlet did not immediately announce a successor.

But this is not the end of Holt. He will stay with NBC in a full-time role at “Dateline,” where he has served as the primary anchor for almost 15 years.

“A smile comes to my face when I think that with Nightly News and Dateline, I have now anchored two of the most successful and iconic television news programs in broadcast history,” Holt wrote in a note to staff obtained by the Hollywood Reporter. “As a 20-year-old radio reporter on the police beat chasing breaking news around San Francisco, I could never have imagined my career path would unfold in the way it has. What an amazing ride.”

Janelle Rodriguez, NBC News executive vice president of programming, wrote the following message to NBCstaffers:

“Because of Lester’s steady and thoughtful leadership, Nightly News has sustained its perch as a trusted and top news destination for millions of viewers across America. He has led the network during some of the country’s most fraught and challenging times in the past decade, most notably during the early days of the pandemic when Lester’s voice was a source of comfort each night for so many.

He’s taken viewers to the frontlines of every major story and sat down with world leaders, skillfully eliciting answers on consequential issues.”

“He’s earned deep respect and reverence from our newsroom, industry colleagues and, most importantly, viewers. What’s equally remarkable is how Lester has masterfully filled this esteemed role with extraordinary grace and humility. He’s proven time and time again why he stands among the great legends of broadcast news.”

News of Holt’s upcoming departure from Nightly News comes just a couple of days after sister station MSNBC canceled host Joy Reid’s The Reid Out show. Her show will air its final episode this week.

Holt has proven to be one of the most despicable Trump haters in all of media. Who can forget the complete hatchet job he pulled during Trump’s first presidential debate against Crooked Hillary Clinton?

This sick man also blamed Trump’s second assassination attempt on so-called “baseless claims about Haitian immigrants” who Trump said were eating people’s pets.

The chances are good that the next host may prove even worse than Holt. For example, look at Kristen Welker’s performances on Meet the Press.

Yet another federal judge had decided to legislate from the bench to stop the Trump Administration.

As Politico reported, U.S. District Judge Deborah Boardman of Maryland, a Biden appointee, prevented the Education Department and Office of Personnel Management from sharing sensitive information with Elon Musk’s DOGE, claiming it violates federal privacy laws.

“The continuing, unauthorized disclosure of plaintiffs’ sensitive personal information to DOGE affiliates is irreparable harm that money damages cannot rectify,” U.S. Boardman wrote Monday in a 33-page ruling that granted a two-week restraining order.

“DOGE affiliates have been granted access to systems of record that contain some of the plaintiffs’ most sensitive data — Social Security numbers, dates of birth, home addresses, income and assets, citizenship status, and disability status — and their access to this trove of personal information is ongoing,” she added.

“Upon consideration of the amended complaint, the TRO briefing, the limited record evidence, oral argument, and the recent decisions of other courts in similar cases, the Court finds that the plaintiffs have met their burden for the extraordinary relief they seek,” the ruling also notes.

“The TRO is granted in part and denied in part.”

Her decision today came in response to a lawsuit brought by federal employee unions, student loan recipients, and veterans. While the Boardman’s order officially applies only to these individuals, it appears likely to serve as a ban on DOGE’s access to data OPM or the Education Department hold about all individuals, according to Politico. This makes her decision the most wide-ranging block on DOGE’s activities so far as the outlet notes.

As TGP readers may know, Boardman is one of the judges who issued a nationwide preliminary injunction against Trump’s birthright citizenship order earlier this month.

Politico also notes that this order could have a detrimental impact on Musk and Trump’s efforts to downsize the federal government and make it more accountable to Americans unless it is overturned.

As Reuters reports, the Trump administration had argued that blocking DOGE from accessing the information would hamper the president’s ability to fulfill his agenda by limiting what data his advisors can access.

This is just the latest assault on the administration by lawless judges. The Gateway Pundit reported earlier this month that an Obama judge temporarily blocked Musk’s DOGE access to an important Treasury Department payment System but also ordered the IMMEDIATE destruction of ALL data obtained since Trump’s inauguration.

A few days later, a Biden judge revised the restrictions on access to the Treasury’s payment system, keeping the ban on DOGE in Place while exempting Treasury leadership.

It’s no wonder why there is a congressional effort to impeach these so-called judges.
