Pope Leo Seemingly Rebukes Trump Over Strikes on Iran — Urges Leaders to Prevent ‘Bloodstained Conflicts’

Pope Leo XIV / Official broadcast

Pope Leo XIV has seemingly rebuked President Trump over his decision to launch missile strikes on Iranian nuclear sites.

The U.S. launched multiple strikes against Iranian targets on Saturday evening, with Trump urging Iranian leaders to come back to the negotiating table.

“War Starts Right Now”: Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Vows Retaliation After Trump Orders Bombing of Three Nuclear Sites

Leo, who has held the papacy for less than two months, posted on the X platform on Sunday afternoon with a warning that “war does not solve problems.”

“War does not solve problems; on the contrary, it amplifies them and inflicts deep wounds on the history of peoples, which take generations to heal,” he wrote.

”No armed victory can compensate for the pain of mothers, the fear of children, or stolen futures.”

”May diplomacy silence the weapons! May nations chart their futures with works of peace, not with violence and bloodstained conflicts!”

The Pontiff also weighed in on the broader problems plaguing the Middle East:

Alarming news continues to emerge from the Middle East, especially from Iran.

Against this tragic backdrop, which includes Israel and Palestine, people’s daily suffering, especially in Gaza and the other territories, where the need for adequate humanitarian aid is becoming increasingly urgent, risks being forgotten.

Today more than ever, humanity cries out and calls for peace. This is a cry that requires responsibility and reason, and it must not be drowned out by the din of weapons or the rhetoric that incites conflict.

Every member of the international community has a moral responsibility to stop the tragedy of war before it becomes an irreparable chasm. There are no “distant” conflicts when human dignity is at stake.

J6 Patriot Markus Maly Is Fighting to Stay Afloat. Let’s Rally to Help His Family Today.

They tried to silence him. They failed. But today, J6 patriot Markus Maly is fighting a different kind of battle – one that millions of working Americans can relate to. However, that is made all the more difficult by the scars left behind by a weaponized justice system. After enduring persecution and imprisonment for standing up for the truth on January 6th, Markus is now asking for help to keep his family afloat.

“I have never in my life had as hard of a time as I am at this moment to simply make ends meet,” Markus shared in a heartfelt message. “But at least I’m here at home with my family… even with all the money troubles, life is good, and I am free.”

That freedom came at a steep cost. Like so many J6ers, Markus was ripped away from his wife and three children, targeted by the regime, and locked away for daring to question the narrative. Thanks to the grace of God and a pardon from President Trump, Markus is free today, but the challenges didn’t stop with the prison doors opening.

Since his release, Markus has been working hard to rebuild his life. He’s a flooring contractor, someone who’s used to getting his hands dirty and earning an honest living. But in this Biden-inflated economy, that work has been harder to come by, especially when cheap illegal labor undercuts small business owners like him. On top of that, his work van—the lifeline of his trade—has been breaking down repeatedly and now requires serious repairs he just can’t afford.

“We are about $5,000 in debt, with rent, electric, and propane,” Markus writes. “My wife’s car needs a new alternator, and my work van has an exhaust leak that I can’t fix myself… I feel like I’m sinking. Please help.”

Despite the hardship, Markus maintains hope and gratitude. He’s not looking for a handout—he’s asking for a hand up. That’s why he’s launched a GiveSendGo fundraiser titled “Freedom Fighter’s Family Fund”, and he needs patriots like you to step in.

Your support can help Markus:
Catch up on rent and utilities
Fix the work van that’s vital to his trade
Cover vehicle repairs so his wife can drive safely
Provide stability for his three children during this difficult season

This isn’t just about dollars and cents—it’s about standing with our fellow Americans who have been punished for standing up. It’s about defending the families of those who paid a price for their patriotism. Markus is doing his best to get back on his feet. Let’s show him that he’s not alone.

This is also a reminder that Markus is far from the only one still fighting the ripple effects of January 6th. Many J6ers and their families continue to struggle in the aftermath of a regime that weaponized the DOJ against its own citizens. That’s why StopHate.com has compiled a list of J6er fundraisers at StopHate.com/SHDOD. If you’re looking to support more political prisoners and their families, this is a great place to start.

But today, our focus is on Markus. Let’s give this father, husband, and American worker the boost he needs to get back to providing for his family and contributing to his community. We’ve seen what this movement can do when it comes together. Let’s do it again.

“Once I’m on my feet and things start picking up and getting back to normal… things will be fine,” Markus says. “I’m stubborn and I want to do it myself, but I feel like I’m sinking.”

Let’s lift him up, the way so many of us have needed lifting. If you’ve read this far, take a moment and act.

And please, don’t stop there. Share this story. Post the link. Talk about it in your community and church groups. Let’s make sure that the story of Markus Maly—a patriot, a father, a survivor—doesn’t end in silence or struggle, but in restoration and hope.
We’ve seen the worst from this regime. But we’ve also seen the best from each other. Let’s be the best again today.
Give what you can. Share what you must. And never stop fighting for our fellow Americans.

Spain and NATO Agree: Madrid Will NOT Spend 5% of GDP in Defense – Deal Comes as Dispute Threatened To Derail Alliance’s Next Week Summit

Failing Sanchez got his way with NATO’s Rutte.

While failing Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez is under fire domestically, trying to quell the political unrest caused by the manifold corruption scandals, he did manage to obtain a victory in his defense policy ahead of next week’s NATO summit.

The socialist leader is dealing with the fallout of corruption investigations involving his wife, his brother, and also of ministers and party officials involved with prostitutes, porn stars and bribes.

The police even had to search Socialist Party HQ for the emails of disgraced leader Santos Cerdán.

It’s against this debacle that Sánchez came out and announced that Spain was NOT going to increase its defense budget to 5% of the GDP – a move that could potentially derail the summit in The Hague.

But it was not to be so.

Associated Press reported:

“Spain reached a deal with NATO to be excluded from a 5% of GDP defense spending target, days before the military alliance’s leaders will gather at a summit, Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez said on Sunday.

‘Spain will, therefore, not spend 5% of its GDP on defense, but its participation, weight and legitimacy in NATO remain intact’, Sánchez said in a televised address.”

Rutte was able to avoid a failed NATO summit.

The Spaniard said they’d be able to keep its commitments to the military alliance with their 2.1% GDP defense spending.

“In letters exchanged on Sunday between NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte and Sánchez, Spain was granted the exemption and the language around the 5% spending target was made to no longer include ‘all allies’, Sánchez said.”

While the 2.1% goal may not be comparatively very expressive, it’s almost double 1.28% that NATO estimates Spain spent on military expenditure – the absolute lowest spender.

“In April, Sánchez announced that the government would raise defense spending to 2% this year, a move that he received pushback for at home including from some allies.”

New data from the City of Los Angeles’ Controller shows that anti-ICE riots across the city had cost taxpayers over $32 million between June 1 and June 17.

LA City Controller Kenneth Mejia tried to spin numbers on X, attributing the massive cost to the city to “ICE raids.”

“$29.5 million or 92% relates to LAPD’s response to protests against ICE, including citywide tactical alert costs,” he said, failing to mention the violence by so-called protesters that spurred police responses.

Police have arrested at least 561 people since the riots started earlier this month.

He also mentioned the “$1.4 million relates to clean-up / public property damage,” but somehow, it’s ICE’s fault that leftist rioters and illegal aliens caused over one million dollars in damage.

The total, roughly $32 million, “does not include potential lawsuits,” Mejia said.

ICE agents have faced a 500% increase due to Democrats like Mejia lying to the American people and defaming law enforcement like this.

It can be recalled that Governor Gavin Newsom sued President Trump for exercising his authority as President to federalize the National Guard and prevent the riots from becoming even more violent and costing more money. Trump had sent in 4,000 National Guard Troops to help quell the riots.

After winning a leftist federal judge in San Francisco ordered President Trump to return control of the National Guard to California, the Ninth Circuit Appeals Court unanimously sided with Trump, allowing him to keep the California National Guard deployed.

However, leftist radicals and illegal aliens are still out in the streets attacking law enforcement and destroying public property.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, two Border Patrol vehicles were rammed, their tires slashed, and windows smashed on Friday in Bell and Maywood, California, as violent mobs broke out in the area.

BREAKING: Judge Rules MS-13 Gang Member Kilmar Abrego Garcia Should NOT be Detained on His Criminal Charges – DOJ Appeals

BREAKING: Judge Rules MS-13 Gang Member Kilmar Abrego Garcia Should NOT be Detained on His Criminal Charges – DOJ Appeals
June 22, 2025

Update: The DOJ appealed the judge’s release order.

Federal magistrate judge Barbara Holmes on Sunday ruled MS-13 gang member and wife beater Kilmar Abrego Garcia should not be detained on his criminal charges.

Abrego Garcia will likely remain in custody on an ICE detainer.

“As required by the Bail Reform Act, the Court has reviewed the evidence presented at the June 13 hearing and considered the parties’ arguments and the Pretrial Services report. For the reasons detailed below, the government’s motion for detention is DENIED. Specifically, the Court finds that no detention hearing is authorized under the Bail Reform Act in this case because the government failed to prove that this case involves: (1) a minor victim within the meaning of § 3142(f)(1)(E); (2) a “serious risk” that Abrego will flee, as required by § 3142(f)(2)(A); or, (3) a “serious risk” that Abrego will obstruct justice or otherwise interfere with the integrity of this proceeding, as required by § 3142(f)(2)(B),” the judge wrote in a 51-page memo.

Earlier this month Kilmar Abrego Garcia pleaded not guilty to human trafficking charges as and fought for his release pending trial.

Abrego Garcia appeared in a Nashville court clad in a red jumpsuit.

A federal grand jury in Tennessee recently indicted Kilmar Abrego Garcia for “transporting undocumented migrants within the United States.”

He was charged with one count of conspiracy to transport aliens and one count of unlawful transportation of undocumented aliens.

According to the indictment, Kilmar Abrego Garcia and co-conspirators from El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico and the US were trafficking illegal aliens from 2016 through 2025.

Read the indictment here.

“If convicted at trial, the defendant faces a maximum punishment of 10 years’ imprisonment for ‘each alien’ he transported,” the government said.

ABC News reported that according to the government’s motion for detention, an Abrego Garcia co-conspirator told the feds that Abrego Garcia was involved in the murder of a rival gang member’s mother.

Last month Fox News obtained 2022 bodycam footage that shows Kilmar Abrego Garcia being caught human trafficking in Tennessee.
