President Donald Trump authorized precision strikes on three of Iran’s pivotal nuclear sites—Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan—on Saturday, deploying B‑2 stealth bombers armed with Massive Ordnance Penetrators (MOPs) and Tomahawk missiles.

The White House said the mission “completely and totally obliterated” Iran’s nuclear capacity.

U.S. forces, including at least six MOPs and 30 Tomahawks, struck deep underground facilities previously deemed invulnerable without these weapons.

Trump framed the operation as decisive, warning that Iran’s “peace” would follow, or else “tragedy” would result.

U.S. military planners are now on heightened alert.

Over 40,000 American troops and family members stationed throughout the Gulf region, including bases in Iraq, Kuwait, the UAE, and Bahrain, have been braced for counterstrikes, with evacuations underway for non-essential personnel, according to Daily Beast.

Syria and Yemen loom large: Iranian-backed militias such as Hezbollah and the Houthis could respond asymmetrically.

According to AP, the Pentagon has surged assets across the region and Europe: carrier strike groups, Patriot and THAAD systems, F‑35s, additional F‑16s in Saudi Arabia, and tanker support. B‑2 bombers remain on standby at Whiteman AFB.

Within hours, Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi denounced the strikes as an “outrageous” breach of international law and the Non-Proliferation Treaty, warning of “everlasting consequences” and asserting Iran’s right to retaliate.

Appearing on state-run television, the deputy political director of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), Hassan Abedini, downplayed the devastating U.S. air campaign, claiming the targeted nuclear sites had been “evacuated a while ago.”

According to Abedini, Iran “didn’t suffer a major blow because the materials had already been taken out.”

It is unclear yet what damage the US attack has had on the nuclear facilities, or whether there are any injuries or casualties.

The Iranian Atomic Energy Organization said the bombing of the three nuclear sites was a “barbaric violation” of international law.

Both Saudi Arabia and the United Nations’ nuclear watchdog say there have been no increase in radiation levels after the attack.

The deputy political director of Iran’s state broadcaster, Hassan Abedini, said Iran had evacuated these three nuclear sites a “while ago”.

Appearing on state-run TV, he said Iran “didn’t suffer a major blow because the materials had already been taken out”.

President Donald Trump ordered the U.S. military to carry out precision airstrikes on three strategic nuclear facilities in Iran, declaring them “completely and totally obliterated”.

The targeted sites—Fordow, Natanz, and a facility near Isfahan—were struck using B-2 stealth bombers loaded with GBU‑57 bunker-buster munitions and Tomahawk missile fire from U.S. submarines and drones.

In his televised address and accompanying Truth Social proclamation, Mr. Trump justified the strikes as a critical blow to Iran’s nuclear ambitions, citing its status as the world’s “number one state sponsor of terror.”

The president asserted that U.S. forces “made it out safely” and warned that any Iranian counterattack would be met with “force far greater than what was witnessed tonight.”

Trump said during the press conference:

Tonight, I can report to the world that the strikes were a spectacular military success. Iran’s key nuclear enrichment facilities have been completely and totally obliterated. Iran, the bully of the Middle East, must now make peace. If they do not. Future attacks would be far greater and a lot easier.

For 40 years, Iran has been saying. Death to America, death to Israel. They have been killing our people, blowing off their arms, blowing off their legs, with roadside bombs. That was their specialty. We lost over 1,000 people and hundreds of thousands throughout the Middle East, and around the world have died as a direct result of their hate in particular. So many were killed by their general, Qassim Soleimani. I decided a long time ago that I would not let this happen. It will not continue.

There will be either peace, or there will be tragedy for Iran, far greater than we have witnessed over the last eight days. Remember, there are many targets left. Tonight’s was the most difficult of them all, by far, and perhaps the most lethal. But if peace does not come quickly, we will go after those other targets with precision, speed and skill. Most of them can be taken out in a matter of minutes. There’s no military in the world that could have done what we did tonight. Not even close. There has never been a military that could do what took place just a little while ago.

Last week, Tehran issued blunt threats, warning of an “all-out war” and specifically referencing American bases in Iraq, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, the UAE and Syria as high-value targets.

Within hours of the attack, Tehran reacted sharply.

State media served notice that Iran “reserves all options” to retaliate, possibly including rocket, drone, or missile strikes.

“War starts right now”, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Tehran’s main army branch, said overnight on Sunday after the US forces struck three nuclear sites in Iran, according to US President Donald Trump.

The US has between 40,000 and 50,000 troops stationed in the region, who are expected to be put on high alert after the strikes.

The IRGC responded by saying this has further escalated what has been an exchange of missile and drone attacks by Iran and Israel since last Friday, now escalating beyond conflict to a full-blown war in the Middle East.

Meanwhile, Israel’s Defence Ministry said it elevated its state of alert even further, cancelling all “educational activities, gatherings and workplaces, except for essential sectors.”

Trump’s decision to directly involve the US comes after more than a week of strikes by Israel on Iran that aimed to systematically eradicate the country’s air defences and offensive military capabilities, while damaging its nuclear enrichment facilities.

President Donald Trump addressed the nation on Saturday night following the US airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Estefan.

Trump later told FOX News that the Fordow facility was hit with six bunker buster bombs and was completely destroyed.

President Trump addressed the nation at 10 PM Eastern following the attacks. Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, joined Trump at the White House during his three-minute address.

During his announcement President Trump went off script when he sincerely thanked God while his voice was shaking.

President Trump: And, I want to just thank everybody, and in particular, God. I want to just say, “I love you God and I love our great military.” Protect them. God bless the Middle East. God bless Israel and God bless America.

This was an atypical display of emotion for our president. And this was obviously not an easy decision for him.

Sources close to the operation report that multiple decoy bomber aircraft were sent west over the Pacific Ocean, stopping to refuel in Hawaii to mislead Iranian intelligence. While the world focused westward, the real threat approached silently from the east.
