Jill Biden’s ‘work husband’ Anthony Bernal was subpoenaed on Thursday after bailing out last minute on his scheduled testimony on Biden’s health decline.

The House Oversight Committee on Wednesday said Jill Biden’s Chief of Staff Anthony Bernal defied congress and bailed on his testimony on Joe Biden’s cognitive decline.

“Now that the White House has waived executive privilege, it’s abundantly clear that Anthony Bernal – Jill Biden’s so-called ‘work husband’ – never intended to be transparent about Joe Biden’s cognitive decline and the ensuing cover-up. With no privilege left to hide behind, Mr. Bernal is now running scared, desperate to bury the truth. The American people deserve answers and accountability, and the Oversight Committee will not tolerate this obstruction. I will promptly issue a subpoena to compel Anthony Bernal’s testimony before the Committee,” the Oversight Committee said.

“Just yesterday, we heard from our first witness, Neera Tanden, the former Staff Secretary who controlled the Biden autopen. Ms. Tanden testified that she had minimal interaction with President Biden, despite wielding tremendous authority. She explained that to obtain approval for autopen signatures, she would send decision memos to members of the President’s inner circle and had no visibility of what occurred between sending the memo and receiving it back with approval. Her testimony raises serious questions about who was really calling the shots in the Biden White House amid the President’s obvious decline. We will continue to pursue the truth for the American people,” the Committee said.

Anthony Bernal will testify at a deposition on Capitol Hill on July 16 at 10:00 am.

Last month Project Veritas released undercover video of DNC Vice Chair David Hogg admitting Anthony Bernal, was running the Biden White House.

“How corrupt is the DNC if so many knew or few people knew about Biden?” a Project Veritas undercover reporter asked Hogg.

Hogg replied, “The bigger issue was like the inner circle that was around Biden… like Jill Biden’s Chief of Staff [Anthony Bernal] had an enormous amount of power.”

Deterrian Jones, former White House Office of Digital Strategy chimed in, “That was an open secret. I would avoid him. He was scary.”

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said on Thursday, after her Wednesday meeting with the House Republican Study Committee to discuss the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, that she fully expects the Big Beautiful Bill to pass by its July 4 deadline.  

President Trump has demanded Republicans send the bill to his desk so that he can fulfill his second-term agenda, including tax cuts and border security.

The bill is currently in the Senate after the House passed it last month by a razor-thin margin.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, the bill faces hurdles, as leftist Senate Parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough attempts to gut key provisions from the bill to undermine the GOP agenda. The provisions include defunding sanctuary cities, defunding the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (DOGE targeted this agency), effort sto roll back Electric Vehicle mandates, and a proposal to restrict federal courts from issuing nationwide injunctions.

Democrat Senate Parliamentarian Rejects Key GOP Provisions in Trump’s ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ – Including Authorizing States to Enforce Immigration Laws

Senate Republicans are now weighing their options to override MacDonough's rulings and objections.

Leavitt says she is confident that Congress will meet the expectations of President Trump with the bill, and the House is "ready to receive this bill back from the Senate, so they can pass it and bring it to the President's desk."

She also slammed the Democrats for their election of radical communist and jihadist Zohan Mamdani in the New York City Mayoral primary this week, saying it "really shows how far left and unhinged the Democrat Party has become."

"Republicans truly are on the right side of every issue in this country. We are on the side of no men in women's sports, on the side of low taxes, secure borders," she said. "So, that was the topic of discussion, and the unity was strong and the camaraderie was high."

OANN's Daniel Baldwin asked Leavitt for her takeaways from the meeting, and she signaled that there will be a bill signing ceremony at the White House "next week!"

President Trump’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB) just lobbed a political grenade at the foreign-aid swamp, recommending an immediate end to nearly two dozen “war-crimes and accountability” projects that have quietly siphoned U.S. tax dollars into the pockets of activist lawyers, globalist NGOs, and ivory-tower academics from Kyiv to Yangon.

According to internal documents reviewed by Reuters, the White House directive puts roughly $70 million in State-Department grants on the chopping block—including an $18 million sweetheart deal for Georgetown University operatives embedded in Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s Office.

Among the loudest complainers: Global Rights Compliance and the Legal Action Network—two foreign outfits billing Washington to “document” Russian atrocities while angling for lucrative courtroom show-trials in The Hague.

The OMB memo gives Secretary of State Marco Rubio a narrow window to appeal, but insiders say Rubio is unlikely to rescue most projects.

Any bureau that wants a reprieve must prove “direct alignment” with the President’s America-First agenda—a nearly impossible hurdle for programs built to advance the Left’s “global justice” hustle.

The OMB recommendation is yet another sign that the administration is increasingly de-prioritizing advocacy for human rights and rule of law globally, an objective that previous U.S. administrations have pursued.

While U.S. foreign aid freezes had already started hampering an international effort to hold Russia responsible for alleged war crimes in Ukraine, Wednesday’s recommendations raise the risk of U.S. completely abandoning those efforts.

Among the programs that are recommended for termination is a $18 million State Department grant for Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s Office that is implemented by Georgetown University’s International Criminal Justice Initiative, two sources said.

Other programs include one that does accountability work on Myanmar army’s atrocities against Rohingya minorities as well as on the persecution of Christians and other minorities by Syria’s ousted former president Bashar al-Assad, two sources said.

While the OMB recommendations could face State Department push-back, the criteria to appeal are set very strictly.

In an internal State Department email, the administration cautioned that any effort to preserve programs that were recommended to be terminated should be thoroughly argued and directly aligned with Washington’s priorities.

The President recently reemphasized the importance of the bill to implement his agenda, saying, “Now that we have made PEACE abroad, we must finish the job here at home by passing ‘THE GREAT, BIG, BEAUTIFUL BILL,’ and getting the Bill to my desk, ASAP.”

“It will be a Historic Present for THE GREAT PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, as we begin the Celebration of our Country’s 250th Birthday,” he continued. “GET THE DEAL DONE THIS WEEK. Work with the House so they can pick it up, and pass it, IMMEDIATELY. NO ONE GOES ON VACATION UNTIL IT’S DONE.”

The event in the White House East Room today is intended to “rally Republicans to get the One Big Beautiiful Bill across the finish line,” said White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt earlier on Thursday.

Leavitt previewed the event during a press briefing earlier and told reporters that “he will be joined by everyday Americans from across the country, who will massively benefit from the common sense policies and provisions within this bill.”

She continued, “simply put, this bill is going to unlock the Golden Age of America.”
