Yes. Zelensky needs more money.

Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky had his participation curtailed on the NATO summit in The Hague, Netherlands, but he is still trying to make the best of all opportunities to pursue his never-ending fundraising goals.

In a Defense Industry event ahead of the summit, Zelensky did his basic fear-mongering, ‘warning’ Europe that they risked attacks by Russia unless Ukraine ‘defeated’ them.

The two-day NATO event is designed to display NATO unity.

“’Russia is even planning new military operations on NATO territory – meaning your countries’, Zelensky told a defense industry event on the sidelines of the summit, hours after Russian missiles killed at least 11 people in southeast Ukraine. ‘No doubt we must stop Putin now, and in Ukraine, but we have to understand that his objectives reach beyond Ukraine. European countries need to increase defense spending’.”

President is en route to the NATO Summit.

REPORTER: “Do you think you’ll meet with Zelensky [at NATO]?”

TRUMP: “Yeah, probably I’ll see him…”

REPORTER: “What would you say to him?”

TRUMP: “I’ll say… ‘How ya doing?’”

“Trump was pressed by travelling reporters to say whether he remained committed to mutual defense among allies as set out by NATO’s Article 5, and responded:

‘I’m committed to saving lives. I’m committed to life and safety. And I’m going to give you an exact definition when I get there’.”

After skipping their meeting during Trump de G7 in Canada, Trump is now expected to meet Zelensky during the summit.

Zelensky wants to discuss ‘substantial purchases of weaponry’ including the sorely missed Patriot missile defense systems.

Rep. Brandon Gil (R-TX), during a House Oversight DOGE Subcommittee hearing on Tuesday, dressed down the Democrats’ radical left witness, exposing that she is nothing but a far-left hack who doesn’t care about wasteful spending in government. 

The hearing, titled “Locking in the DOGE Cuts: Ending Waste, Fraud, and Abuse for Good,” was focused on implimenting Department of Governmnt Efficiency (DOGE) cuts.

Emily DiVito, Senior Advisor for Economic Policy at Groundwork Collaborative, was invited to testify for the Democrats about how “harmful” reductions in federal agency spending are for the American people. 

However, as Gil masterfully demonstrated, she was totally clueless!

Rep. Gil decimated DiVito with questions about grants for research on “birthing people,” ” women and nonbinary mathematicians,” pregnancy prevention for transgender boys, “the racialized basis of trait judgments from faces,” and cross sex steroid therapy and cardiovascular risk in the transgender female.

Refusing to answer Gil’s specific questions about wasteful spending, she simply maintained that “all kinds of government research” is necessary, no matter how useless the topic.

Most notably, she couldn’t even define what a birthing person is when questioned on government-funded research for behavioral health among women and birthing people. “That is outside of my expertise,” she said in response to Gil asking, “is a birthing person a woman? Is that another word for a female?”

Gil: Ms. DiVito, Thank you for coming here. In your testimony, you said that Americans deserve a government that works for them, a government that makes their lives easier and more secure. Is that correct?

DiVito: Yes sir.

Gil: I’d like to read, read through a couple of the grants that DOGE has pulled back, and I’d like to get your take on them. They pulled back a one and a half million dollar NIH grant to Morehouse College. It was called the center to advance reproductive justice and behavioral health among black pregnant/postpartum women and birthing people. Do you think that that makes Americans lives easier and more secure?

DiVito: I think that medical and scientific research of all types—

Gil: Do you think that constitutes critical research? According to your testimony, NIH grants are critical research.

DiVito: I think that government research of all types in the medical—

Gil: Including of birthing people?

DiVito: I think bench research of all types, plays a fundamental–

Gil: What is a birthing person?

DiVito: Sir, I am here to talk about the DOGE impact.

Gil: I’m asking you about this grant, and you’re defending it. So I’m asking you what, what is, who is birthing people?

DiVito: I am not familiar with this grant. I take a position that all kinds of government research of medical, pharmaceutical, biological—

Gil: Is a birthing person a woman? Is that another word for a female?

DiVito: That is outside of my expertise.

Gil: That seems like erasure language to me. I’ve been told that that type of vernacular constitutes erasure language. How about another one, how about the conference, Gender Equity in the Mathematical Study of Commutative Algebra? Do you think that’s a valid form of government spending?

DiVito: I think mathematical research of all types is deserving of government—

Gil: What about studying, and this is directly from the National Science Foundation’s website, women and nonbinary mathematicians?

DiVito: Again, I think all kinds of government investment should be dedicated towards mathematical, scientific–

Gil: All kinds of government investment? You don’t have any kind of limit on what we’re spending our money on, just everything? Is that your testimony?

DiVito: I am talking about Doge. You brought up—

Gil: So am I. This is a grant that DOGE cut.

DiVito: I’m not familiar with this particular grant, and I think government investment and mathematical, biological–

Gil: Okay, let’s do another one. This one is called #transcendenthealth, adapting an LGB+ inclusive teen Pregnancy Prevention Program for transgender boys. I can’t even say this without laughing. Do you think that that is a useful form of our tax spend?

DiVito: I’m not familiar with that grant, but I think bench research, government investment in scientific and farming research–

Gil: Teen pregnancy for transgender boys? Do you think that that is a useful spend of our tax dollars?

DiVito: I think government investment in all kinds of scientific research is of the utmost importance.

Gil: Including pregnancy prevention for transgender boys. Okay, let me ask you, we can come back to this later, maybe. Do you support abolishing the filibuster, still?

DiVito: I’m here to talk about DOGE, respectfully.

Gil: Right. We could abolish the filibuster and get a lot of Doge cuts through. And you’ve written, at length, on your Twitter about abolishing the filibuster. I’m just curious if you think that we should do that still.

DiVito: I did a lot of previous work on different topics because I am an economic policy expert, and respectfully, I’m here to talk about DOGE cuts.

Gil: Okay, but we could abolish the filibuster and get DOGE cuts. This is totally germane here. Do you think we should?

DiVito: I am here to talk about DOGE cuts, not strategies for achieving more of them, but the harm that they have produced for working families.

Gil: That’s a convenient change of opinion. I noticed that most of your comments about the filibuster were during the Biden administration, but we can move on. Let’s go back to some more of these grants. Do you think that we should be spending money on “the racialized basis of trait judgments from faces”?

DiVito: I am not at all familiar with that grant.

Gil: It’s a $500,000 NSF grant.

DiVito: Okay, I am not familiar with the subject matter—

Gil: But you’re defending these.

DiVito: I am saying that I think the government—

Gil: You’re pretty adamant against DOGE cuts, and I’m asking you, if you support the cuts that DOGE has found.

DiVito: I think that there’s economic and medical public health communal benefit–

Gil: What about cross sex steroid therapy and cardiovascular risk in the transgender female?

DiVito: Again, I think government investment in scientific research is important.

Karmelo Anthony was indicted for murder by a grand jury in the fatal stabbing of 16-year-old track star Austin Metcalf.

Earlier this year a judge reduced Karmelo Anthony’s bond from $1 million to $250,000 and placed him on house arrest.

As TGP previously reported, 16-year-old track and football star Austin Metcalf was brutally stabbed to death in April during a championship track meet at Kuykendall Stadium in Frisco, Texas.

Metcalf, a junior at Frisco Memorial High School, was attacked in broad daylight — at a school-sanctioned event meant to showcase hard work, discipline, and sportsmanship.

The suspect, (now 18-year-old) Karmelo Anthony of rival school Frisco Centennial, was charged with first-degree murder and faces up to life in prison.

CBS News reported:

Karmelo Anthony, the now 18-year-old accused of fatally stabbing another teen during an altercation at a Frisco ISD track meet in early April, was indicted for murder by a Collin County grand jury on Tuesday.

Anthony, who was 17 at the time of the incident, was arrested on April 2 in connection with the stabbing death of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf during a track meet at Kuykendall Stadium.

The teen, who is facing a first-degree murder charge, has been on house arrest since being released on a reduced bond on April 14. If convicted, Anthony could face a possible sentence of 5-99 years or life in prison. In the Texas criminal justice system, 17-year-olds are considered adults.

Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis announced that his team worked to present evidence to the grand jury for weeks.

“We know this case has struck a deep nerve — here in Collin County and beyond. That’s understandable. When something like this happens at a school event, it shakes people to the core,” Willis said in a news release. “But the justice system works best when it moves with steadiness and with principle. That’s what we’re committed to. And that’s exactly what this case deserves.”

The Karmelo Anthony family attorney previously asked the judge to put the teen killer on an ankle monitor and reduce his bond so he can “be with his family.”

The defense attorney argued that Karmelo Anthony has no prior arrests and should be released from prison.

Prosecutors argued that Karmelo Anthony was involved in an altercation at school in February, but it did not involve law enforcement, according to Fox 4 News.

In asking for the bond reduction, the defense attorneys said Anthony’s family is having trouble accessing the more than $400,000 raised for the teen killer. The judge sided with the defense and reduced Karmelo Anthony’s bond to $250,000.

Earlier this year Judge Angela Tucker of the 199th Judicial District Court also said Karmelo Anthony would be put on house arrest.

The high-profile, high-stakes criminal trial of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is moving towards its conclusion, with the Prosecution wrapping their more than 6 weeks, and a defense’s case that is supposed to last only two days, followed by the final arguments by the Government and Diddy’s lawyers.

But there’s still one bump on the road for the to rule upon.

Today (24), prosecutors in Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ trial have rested their case, and Judge Arun Subramanian has dismissed the jury for a lunch break, while he rules on yet another Rule 29 motion by the defense – he has already denied one.

CNN reported:

“Defense attorney Alexandra Shapiro made a defense motion for a judgement of acquittal on all counts, arguing that the government failed to meet its burden to prove the counts against Combs.

About this motion: This is a routine Rule 29 motion that is typically made by the defense in a criminal trial after the government rests its case. A Rule 29 motion is a defendant’s motion for an acquittal on the grounds that the government didn’t present enough evidence for the jury to reasonably convict the defendant.”

Diddy’s attorney Alexandra Shapiro is going count-by-count, explaining to the Judge how the defense believes prosecutors did not prove each alleged crime.

“For the racketeering conspiracy count, she said prosecutors failed to show that anybody conspired with Sean “Diddy” Combs.

‘There’s, at best, thin proof that any of the other employees willingly participated in crimes with and for Mr. Combs’, she said, adding that the exception was procuring small quantities of drugs for Combs’ personal use.

Shapiro said his assistants ‘didn’t know much, if anything, about what went on between Mr. Combs and his girlfriends in the hotel rooms’.”

Combs’ Shapiro: At most these were personal quantities of drugs. They used a lot of Astroglide and baby oil and drank, maybe some drugs. Jonathan Perez said hotel nights were personal time with a female. Brendan Paul said, Hotel for the night

She argued that Diddy hid the nature of the sexual activity he was engaging in from his employees, and it was Cassie Ventura and ‘Jane’ who booked the escorts, and not any Combs’ employees.

(This does not take into consideration that Cassie was a signed artist to his music label.)

A Rule 29 motion is routinely made by the defense in a criminal trial after the government rests its case.

It’s a motion for an acquittal arguing that the government didn’t present enough evidence for the jury to reasonably convict the defendant.

These motions, the CNN report reminds us, are almost always denied.
